    We've lost something, perhaps forever. We've lost the inherent patriotism that kids used to be BORN with. As a young child, I realized that I lived in a free society. I delivered newspapers at the age of 12, served in the Scouts, and worked paper-drives. I was never really certain why I did these things, but I was proud to do them. And, every single time there was a call to recognize the National Anthem, I stood, proudly, and did so. Way back then it didn't matter to me which party my friend's parents supported, because I knew, inherently, that we all stood together at the end of the day. On Labor Day, Independence Day, and Memorial Day, every porch flew the American Flag. That's just how it was. Something really, really bad has transpired in America. Something to the tune where flying the Flag can now be considered "offensive", while burning the flag can be considered "free speech". How long can these invisible walls of freedom endure under such erosive conditions? How long until we are living under despotism, disguised as liberalism, and find ourselves subjects, without the freedoms of speech that we believed we were protecting as we passed regulation after regulation..? And, here is the shot-to-the-heart. Nobody anywhere is going to storm our beaches to liberate us. Once we capitulate, it's check-mate! Game over! Freedom becomes extinct, globally.

    • @jaym9879
      @jaym9879 4 года назад +8

      I like what your saying. Though I wouldn't say we were BORN with it. It's something that must be learned and understood. Then one can die for these beliefs without a second thought.

      Sounds like nationalism to me. The US may have been founded with purported lofty ideals, but this country does not stand for freedom or justice, it stands for money. Why do we burn the flag? We burn the flag because our nation has failed to provide for the needs of its citizens. It's an act of protest like the American Revolution. In a country where the vast majority of wealth is held by a minuscule proportion of the population, and the poor and disadvantaged continue to suffer, and the government lets this all happen and in fact encourages it, how can there be patriotism?

    • @jaym9879
      @jaym9879 4 года назад +13

      @@maya3871... It's not the countries job to provide for anyone... My parents left Crappy Mexico for this country.. This is the place to be period. America has its flaws, and the majority of wealth is held by few.. But NOTHING is stopping you from going out and getting what's yours... BTW being poor here is mostly by choice or ignorance.. There is no place with greater potential of upwards mobility than here.. And if you can't afford it, figure it out or move to another state or country.. And I'm for fighting for the poor.. Start by giving them your money.. "Not being sarcastic" be the change you want to see..

    • @MrBudcole
      @MrBudcole 4 года назад +9

      @@maya3871 Except, very little of what you said is true. Yes, it's true if you look to government as a "provider" of things - but not at all true if you look to yourself as an "individual", which is the unique tenet that set this country apart from all others for most of its history. Yes, every country has its problems, but this has always been the only nation where - if you CHOOSE - you can create your own future. I grew up in a poor house, with a LOT of siblings. I slept sideways on a bed for many of my earliest years with at least one of my brothers. As soon as I was able, I got a paper route, and started earning money delivering papers. At one point, I absorbed another route, and had 136 customers. Sunday's were a bitch because of the ads and the comics, but I managed it. I started a sign business when I was 14, and made decent money (cash - back when you still could) until I turned 16, when I got an actual job. I made minimum wage for about 6 weeks, and then I got a raise, because I was an excellent worker. I worked my butt off and made manager by 17, and was able to pay my way through college. Of course, I worked during college also. In fact, I didn't have a free weekend for almost 6 years, because the weekends were when I made the most money. I worked, sacrificed and saved. This was before brand-name everything - except for Levi's jeans - so I didn't WASTE my money on image clothing, and there weren't any "must have" gadgets, like smart phones, to waste even more money on. So, yes - if you believe that everyone is entitled to so many hours of daily social media time, and free tuition, and they shouldn't have to work because it's "too hard", then I can see why you would view this as an oppressive country.

    I've seen some try to place the blame for the Cold War on the US as a result of our hardline policies against the USSR, driven by "imperialist capitalist desires." What a load of shit. We never would have adopted those policies if not for examples of Soviet non-cooperation and aggression. We knew exactly what kind of animal Stalin was. Kruschev hated us too. We saw how they acted both at home and abroad, and you can tell a tree by its fruit. Not only that but we knew the ideology that drove the Soviets, and it called for worldwide expansion. I personally don't care if the motivations of our politicians were mostly economic, because they believed in free market liberal capitalism in liberal democratic societies. The results would have been invariably better.
    People said the same thing about Hitler when he first came to power and started to get more expansionistic, they said he was acting perfectly rationally and that Churchill was a warmongering idiot. Well, look how that turned out. Never doubt the threat that originates from true tyranny.

    Ronald Reagan grew up in Illinois. His father was a shoe salesman. When he was very young, his mother read to him, moving her finger under the words as she read aloud. He taught himself to read by looking at the words as she read, and by the time he was five years old he could read the newspaper. His mother was an amateur actress performing onstage in local productions. She encouraged her boys to participate in the theater and public readings. These experiences served him well in later life as

    Happy 99th birthday, Mr President.
    Easily the best president of the 20th century.

    I’m saying this without bias (libertarian) but Reagan was the greatest president there has ever been. He spoke the truth knowing he couldn’t make everyone happy, he did what he had to do to make America a great place. He wasn’t a liar, he was an honest man. That is a quality that has lacked in a President ever since

    Share this and other Reagan videos This Friday , Saturday and Sunday. we need to get his voice out by flooding the networks. Our country is in peril. We need to be listening to a real President of the United States of America.

    I do not tend to think of Reagan as a great president, but he was the last good one we had. Everyone since him have barely been competent at best.

    All partisanship aside, Reagan will be remembered as the leader who turned the U.S. population (and eventually the world ) away from addressing its energy supply problems. Those problems have now come back to haunt us horribly in our unprepared state.
