No we find out what is Joe's favorite ice cream and why is Trump such a horrible human being and we are told with Joe on the scene we are back to normalcy!
This is so true! Another factor is that we didn't have 24 hour news networks with Talking Heads Shows who would spend the following weeks dissecting and ripping apart every word of every sentence. A POTUS today could not give this type of presser without getting destroyed.
Todays fake news networks cut and paste what the politicians say to fit the narrative that their network wants. Often times their questions are a formed more to a statement than a question.
Reagan walked in and took his place at the podium without a notecard directing him to do so. His pants were clean and remained so throughout the press conference. He spoke in complete sentences. Do you remember when Reagan was President? I certainly do. Perhaps you were too young? That is no disgrace. You are incorrect in saying that he “did not need to read a TelePrompTer.” He certainly did, and was very skillful in doing so. Actually, President Reagan used the TelePrompTer a lot, and I mean A LOT! It was said that he never met a TelePrompTer that he didn’t like. Ronald Reagan was the King of the TelePrompTer. Except for news conferences when he spoke extemporaneously, President Reagan ALWAYS used a teleprompter or note cards whenever he made a speech. Using a prompter made him appear strong, because he was an absolute master communicator who knew how to deliver his lines to the public; he knew how to pause; he understood vocal variety, and he knew how to emphasize certain points. Because he was a trained actor, President Reagan was great at hitting his mark and delivering his lines. There was none better. NONE! On the other hand, speaking off the cuff at Press Conferences was definitely NOT his strong suit, especially as he aged throughout his 70’s throughout his two terms as President. Ronald Reagan was never really comfortable at Press Conferences in my view. JFK, in my opinion, was far Reagan’s superior when speaking at Press Conferences. But he was 30 years younger at the time.
I look forward to the day we might meet in person, in what lies beyond. What a charismatic soul. My favorite president, who's absence is sorely felt in these blighted times.

@@lewisc215 That's what you got out of this? Carter took a radical approach to curbing inflation, so much that he essentially nukes his own presidency and Reagan reaped the rewards. His radical policies damaged the job market in the interim and the deficit spiked under his presidency. Of course, Reagan outdid him by cutting taxes and increasing spending. He didn't make the government smaller, he just shifted allocations ay from bureaucracies and towards national defense, while cutting taxes (i.e., cutting federal income) at a rate unheard of in presidential history. We're still dealing with the effects of Reagan's policies. He killed the middle class even though Republicans see him as a champion of the middle class. It's sad but hilarious. What a difference unfortunately I wasn't old enough to appreciate the man when I was young. Hasn't been anything close to him by either party since he was in office.
The best president ever in my generation we need him now or some one like him
If only the new UK PM would make a first statement on the lines of that of Mr Reagan. America's finest president.
We desperately need another Reagan today.
Wow, can't Imagine Joe doing this 😳
A time when journalists were neutral and were not allowed to pick sides but to only report news...
Ronald Reagan was the greatest president we ever had please don't forget him. I know I wont. Such a good man and his wife too for supporting him.
He answered just as many questions in one press conference that it will take Biden to answer in 4 years.
I miss real news reporters. Those days are behind us
My god he was a very vigorous man - certainly at the beginning of his Presidency. The contrast with slow, Joe Biden could not be more stark. He was a fabulous communicator and leader. He was in command of himself and the office. Laughing at the execrable Helen Thomas. Her question gave me PTSD about how bad the media was even back in the 80s. It's only gotten worse in the intervening decades.
Ronald was a bad actor
but great president
he gave America as sense of humor and greatness

Mr Reagan was the best president ever
please bring him back ..we need him more than ever before
Greatest President in my lifetime.
Much better president than we have now. Much better media, too.
No Twitter and respect for ALL media representatives, not only for the supporters of the President.
Not a member of the press trying to do nothing but cut the man down. You show respect, you get respect.
The media had actual journalist back then. Today there are no journalist. They are nothing more than mean spirited left wing political activist.
Take a look at his "I paid for this microphone" tirade.
In case you needed to be reminded: This is what a REAL American President looks like, acts like and sounds like!
Both the President and the Press spoke so articulately back then
Wow, what a concept, reduce spending, getting rid of programs that didn't work. We need another Reagan.
I wish we could have a better president and Congress. Wow I miss Regan'.😎
25 minutes taking hard questions with real answers.
Contrasted to Biden… lol.
God, I miss this man!
I noticed he didn't blame anyone else for the problems he was asked about. He said that they were his problems now and that he was going to do what he could to change them.
History repeates
.. we need a regan in Australia now
Wow real journalists and not just democrat shills. Also they ask short questions. No camera hogs.
'The greatest President of the 20th Century, and since.
I like every thing what you all said... i dont think we'll never have a president like that again... I could be wrong!!!
The common decency the respect and courtesy given to Pres Reagan is an obvious sign
Of the degree that the present press reporters have succumbed to such filthy inhuman
Treatment of our present president
God be with us.
I miss the days of peanut butter and jelly sandwiches and hose water!
He wasn't perfect. None of us are. But he was a leader and he loved our country. I'm a Democrat. God Bless President Reagan.
I can only hope and pray that you're not still a democrat.
How could anyone wish to be a Democrat after Carter. I do believe JFK by this time would have been a republican. He was an amazing President.
@@joeyarbrough7107 How can anyone be a Democrat after Obama?
@@joeyarbrough7107 nah he was a sleazy adulterer

Back in the time when the press was respectable and asked reasonable questions
No we find out what is Joe's favorite ice cream and why is Trump such a horrible human being and we are told with Joe on the scene we are back to normalcy!
This is so true! Another factor is that we didn't have 24 hour news networks with Talking Heads Shows who would spend the following weeks dissecting and ripping apart every word of every sentence. A POTUS today could not give this type of presser without getting destroyed.
Todays fake news networks cut and paste what the politicians say to fit the narrative that their network wants. Often times their questions are a formed more to a statement than a question.
God forbid the press does its job and asks hard questions. They should always bow their heads to men in power right?
It was a much better time back then. Now, the country is out of control.
Reagan walked in and took his place at the podium without a notecard directing him to do so.
His pants were clean and remained so throughout the press conference.
He spoke in complete sentences.
He did not call only on a preordained list of press.
He had harsh words for America's enemies at the time.
He had solutions that involved cutting useless bureaucracy not throwing money at it.
Was not hustled out after two answers by his handlers.
We need another Reagan.
Great comment!
Hopefully we get another Ron in 2024 🇺🇸
@kpk33x - Agree 100%. Also, I lost track of the amount of questions he took. In 2022, we’re lucky if the current president* takes *any* questions.
Not just Reagan. The press is actually asking policy questions, and they are informed about current events.
The Biden Rapid Response Bots will be in here to defend Ol' Joe by attacking Trump in 4....3.....2.....
Boy, the politeness and civility back then -- and you actually get far more useful information from the press conference than the adolescent, gotcha, sound-bite, utter chaos of press conferences now. What a contrast.
I joined the USMC just to support President Reagan and call him my Commander. What a great President.
He didnt Love our country he was an anti Gun Democrat in the guise of a Republican. You wanted to die for a corporation

Government should not interfere with american lives.....spent 8 years destroying unions as just one example.
@@AustinMichael what are the Unions good for?? To increase mafias?? To increase mediocre employees?? To level all employees to one level?? Do you work the same quantity or quality of hours as your co-workers??
@@AustinMichael No, the unions destroyed themselves. Their purpose went from workers' rights to ensuring their own survival. Reagan just gave them enough rope to hang themselves with.
Ronald Reagan is the guy who enacted the most strict and harsh gun control laws in the country, California's gun control laws. If you think that's "leaving individual Americans alone" then I don't know what to tell ya. The 2nd Ammendment exists for a reason. Everyone has the right to bear arms. It's the law. But he apparently didn't care about the law all that much. And now Californians have to deal with this stuff that he enacted decades after Reagan died. The spectre of government hangs over the country long after its fiercest proponent, Reagan, stopped standing. Sure he _CLAIMED_ to be anti-government, anti-state, anti-centralisation. But look at his actions, instead of his campaign promises, his words. Like all politicians, he was a liar, and so didn't actually do what he said he was gonna do (be anti-government) but instead actually strengthened it and centralised it even further
Yep the govts job is too protect our rights not tell us what they are.

President Reagon was a great President and Statesman. He loved his country and fought for freedom all over the World. If he is looking down from Heaven now, I am sure he is weeping.
Back when the president and the press were concerned with real issues and not identity politics.
Great President, I was in the US in the Australian Navy when he was the Boss, and the USN was at its strongest and greatest during his tenure. The world misses his decency, control, dedication and support for freedom and peace.
This man did not need to read a Teleprompter he knew exactly what he was saying and he was strong
No one comes close to JFK truly. That man was something else.

He destroyed this country.
He cut taxes and increased spending. He did the exact opposite of what he said he was going to do in the presser. He was more fiscally irresponsible than Carter. Most of y'all get easily fooled by a sweetalking politician (Reagan, Obama), but unlike those politicians, the data doesn't lie.
@@randomtees Carter was not irresponsible, Dork
