The Fortress looks amazing. I wasn't sure I wanted to invest in other creator castle sets, but after seeing your video I decided to go ahead and buy two more sets to build it. I was pleasantly surprised that the instructions were free. Even more, an incentive to go ahead and buy. Thanks :):)
It would still be nice if this castle could be opened as the original. It will be very cramped this way. It looks very good. But the ability to fold it out would be nice.
@@jasontacoma2494 totally agree, i've built it recently and plan to play it with my kids but due to limited access to lower ground and also the upper building i decided to demolish it and build a different one.
It's pretty simple to make it modular, but you will need some alternate pieces from your own parts library. After step 38 in the instructions, lay down flat tile pieces down with 5x piece 41740 (flat 1x4 tile with 2 studs) evenly spaced out. Then take the flat plates used in step 39 and interlock them with a second layer of flat plates (again, you will need your own additional parts for this) and start building the castle top as per the rest of the instructions
They had these sets on sale at my local Costco for $74.99 (they were already sold out this past weekend) or they have them on member online price of $79.99 right now fyi. Love to see a pic of all the left over pieces after the 3-set-build since it only used about 2/3rds of the pieces.
I love it when you show the Rebrickable MOCs. Wish they had something like that when I was a kid! Oh, and the Creator Castle seems like one of the most Rebrickable sets Lego has made. Thanks again for showcasing this stuff!
I think it time to crown me Bricksie! I ordered two castle set (currently backordered as I type this) for this black falcon castle moc so I be the ‘’King of Bricksie Channel’’! could put the skeleton inside the raised room for murder mystery in medieval time. that sorting will be a nightmare for me as I got limited space to build so might move to the EVEN BIGGER Table to build this!
I built the medieval fortress where you put all three together too. It's worth it. Get rid of the shield above the drawbridge and replace with a window. Bring your own banners to decorate the tower. Add a dragon. You are finished.
Looks awesome and one of the better looking three-set mashups. I'm just disappointed that it's not modular and can't be taken apart easily to access the interior, plus the lack of a throne room. But I suppose it works as a fortress located out in the borderlands somewhere and not as an actual seat of royal power. Thanks for the review!

I wanna build this so bad, but cannot afford all three at once. My thought is I will probably do the original build first, buy a second set later, and build the first version you showed, then when I can afford the third go with this. I would like to see this fortress beside the medieval blacksmith.
Hi Bricksie, I love your videos and am in isolation at the moment (day 4/10 (I have covid)). I am building my own city and growing a large collection because of you.
I live in France and have seen many castles all over Europe, all castles are different in many ways this one is not bad but have seen many and I live in a castle I want to do something every cool most castle have a hidden door it is like a backdoor in the states but in France we don't think of the same way as Americans do, but that is what it would be to you and I want my castle to be as realistic and function as possible open and close everything I can I will add a portcullis and murder holes anything and everything I can do will be done thanks for your help great video!
Okay, when i buy 3 of the sets, i am able to build a nice castle with the size of a castle of the late 80's castles like the 6085? Good Job Lego.... ;-) I go play with my 6085 now. A nice video by the way.
This is definitely on my list to build. Would you suggest building the 2 set version first and then building the 3? Or just skip the 2 and go right to 3?
Currently own 2 and considering a 3rd set. I’m definitely a display kind of guy, but it’s still disappointing that the huge, impressive one that uses all 3 sets cannot open up… but that being said, I prefer the castle look on the 3rd one where it really blends light and dark gray. The original build (one set) and the first build you showed in this video (two sets) kinda use too much dark gray. The light gray is barely used

That looks fantastic! On another note, just curious if anyone knows if Lord AFOL’s castle (Ideas submission) instructions and parts list is/will be available anywhere? Or does Lego now own the design even though they are not producing it as a set?
Bricksie, if you liked this MOC check out Black Falcon's Torture Tower. It is also an alternate build of 31120 Medieval Castle. It's really cool and it's hillarious how in the comments for it, some people are actually too scared of it to build it :P Maybe do it for halloween
i've built it recently, this alt build is good for display but if you planning to play with it/with your kids its a big no no. You have very limited access to lower level since it's not modular by design
Yes, I altered the design for mine and it was very simple but you will need some alternate pieces from your own parts library. did i understand correctly... to build this castle u need only one Medieval Fortress set to build this and not anything else to buy? all parts are from the box?
The thing is you can't open it up so most of the interior is inaccessible/very hard to access. You also only get 9 figures which are composed of 3 duplicates each, and 3 skeletons. Compare that to the lion knights castle which comes with 21 unique minifigures and 1 skeleton, ontop of a cow, 2 horses with barding, lamb, and bird molded figures. Another thing is a huge chunk of the parts usage is to just elevate the ground up for the castle to rest on. None of it is accessible once you build it in. Compare that to the lion knights castle where there's an entire cave network under all of the comparitively smaller amount of elevated ground sections, which is fully accessible and acts as a secret passageway/hideout for minifigures to hangout in Finally the lion knights castle is composed of nearly 1500 more parts in its entire build than this one. A better comparison to the lion knights castle would be a MOC composed of 4 Creator 3 in 1 castles instead of 3
I built the fortress by mocscout, however I made a few modifications along the way, including; - adding a working waterwheel that works a blacksmith hammer. - a drawbridge mechanism that actually raises and lowers. - a fireplace with built in light brick. - an added throne room on the first floor. - the second floor and above is completely detachable, giving it a modular feel and allows for more floor accessibility and playability. - changing the colourings, including yellow to tan for a more authentic and less cartoony look, and changing the red in the banners to blue to match the knights. - adding more minifigs, including an archer, a wizard and a King and Queen.
Do you have pictures of your build? The fortress missing the waterwheel was one of my biggest disappointments. So to see that included would be awesome!
Clearly what everyone needs to do is buy 9 boxes, to have the original 3-part wall design stretched out to connect to two of these bad boys. Maybe then the company will finally notice senpai and put out a new castle line.

The ground-floor windows all let in onto the multitudes of jail cells LEGO thinks we need. Inside would be a tempting baguette. Any intruder squeezing in would just find himself trapped behind bars, eat the baguette, and be unable to escape through the window because his tummy is bloated. Siege lifted!
only thing i don't really like is that its not modular. If I decide to build this im going to make it modular so that i can actually enjoy the interiro as well

And its FREE!

This is one of the best Castle rebrickable mocs I have seen. I only wish it had a bigger interior.
I really with Lego would make a historical accurate castle but that would probably too big (Unless they would release it in modular sets)
You were close: "tray-boo-shay". Loving the finished product that is Helm's Shallow!
Was about to say that!
Treh-beau-shay (beau is pronounced like how it does in beauty) is how you pronounce it in English
Tre-byew-shay. Beau like beauty.

Thank you for reviewing these two rebrickable models. I will so the one that requires two sets.
Start building your army while you can off BAP!!!!!Nice build cant wait to see your scene under the table.
Great review. I think you’ve convinced me - next time we get double points, I think I’ll get 3 sets and build this!
thank you for posting the link to the rebrick version!!
Thanks for the idea last week, I was a little disappointed with the three models and had purchase three boxes. I am at step 30th. A lot of job!
Such a great alt build might need to build this
I love it when you show the Rebrickable MOCs. Wish they had something like that when I was a kid!

I love the texture of castle wall.
Jeeez, these are on sale right now too. Amazing MOC mashup
The Castle look fantastic. great build.

Nice build
I just placed a BAP order for black falcons minifigures because of medieval projects like this
Awesome!
Nice! that definitely looks like it could hold back an army!
I hope that one day you can place this in a big medieval diorama next to your massive lego city in a studio!
It was fun watching you build this!
I built the medieval fortress where you put all three together too. It's worth it. Get rid of the shield above the drawbridge and replace with a window. Bring your own banners to decorate the tower. Add a dragon. You are finished.
Nice fortress but you could have used the lower as a dungeon or escape route maze
This is my new dream set (3 sets)
