You're fine to put village stuff outside the castle, depending on the purpose of a given castle, that was quite common. The castle was often more than the residence of a lord, it was a fortress to protect some strategic resource or trade route and there'd be people to do that job. Merchants/Traders attracted to the wealth would have places of business. Really successful towns would rapidly outgrow the 4 walls of a castle. The surrounding villagers would retreat into the castle if invaded
You should make the space between the King's Castle and the Horse Stable a canyon of sorts with the stream running through it. There could be some really cool storytelling that could happen there with bandits or something.
I absolutely love your medieval scene. I started a medieval village about three months ago after watching your channel daily. I am getting a lot of ideas. You're doing a fantastic job. Which brings three points. First of all, I went back to building Lego sets after discovering your channel at the end of 2022. I have no idea what the Lego marketing department does. I never heard of them. But you have done a lot for promoting my own Lego purchases, around $1500 in 2023. I bought a ton of plates, a few medieval sets, the Lion's King Castle, the blacksmith, the Vikings village, and a ton of bricks. There are another couple of RUclips channels that are great at showing Lego creations but yours is by far the best. You are the best Lego-Ambassador-On-Probation when it comes to selling Lego bricks. Second point is that I was watching your videos about the Lego castles and I was thinking that the 10 or so castles located less than 50 km around my home town - some of which are world-renowned - are all located on rock promontories. I meant to say that in the previous days but I held this criticism. You get enough negative comments. I think that it is a very good idea to have at least one castle up some hill. Third and last, Lego had a medieval market place set back in the days. We bought it around 2008 or so. It had a couple of simple medieval houses. They can easily be MILS plated. You could get the instructions and easily build them. You probably have all the parts.
And in March, the updated version of the Medieval Market set is going to be released according to the rumors. I'm pretty sure that's why Bricksie is building this diorama now, so he can integrate that new set when it's released. Last summer, I put together my version of the 2008 set with some of my own parts and other stuff from BrickLink, with a few changes, and it turned out great. I'm looking forward to the 2024 edition.
I started my own Castle collection in Feb 2021 when the new Blacksmith was released. I loved it so much I bought a second one and double sized it! I was lucky to get 2 of the Forest Hideout and double that, and I got 3 of the Majisto Workshop, and opened 2 and built it into a really cool "Majisto Fortress" which I just love. The Viking Village is next on my "double size" list, having had to rush to get Lion Knight's before it retires and investing in 4 unopened copies of Blacksmith to sell, as well as bulk parts buys for MOC & MILS, which I also learned here from Bricksie! I've had a similar budget to yours for 3 years now. I took some of my builds to a convention last year and got hundreds of big compliments. I have plans to work with local people on even bigger convention builds now, but I'm glad to have what I do, which can hold up at any convention.
I’ve seen a couple videos where you talked about tree builds. The trees you built in this video made me instantly save this video for reference! I absolutely love those trees!!!!
To fill in the trees where you can see the trunk, I use the 3 plant stem part (24855) pushed into the leaf holes and use a green flower stud (24866) and the 3 leaf plant plate (32607) on each stalk. This fills in the gaps nicely and the trees look fantastic.
I think a giant church would be nice on the long end instead of a third castle. Religion was a big part of being a knight and would be nice to see that represented
I've got to remember that for my own forest! I love paper birch trees. They grow healthiest in stands of 3 or more. River birches are a cool tree, too.
It’s looking good, castles were built on higher ground so the cliff works well. Also a church and small village round the river with some cattle would look good. It definitely needs sheep, cows and chickens.
Great progress! I'd love to see what that mountain castle looks like placed at an angle. You have all the pieces to rebuild it bigger, with more detail & variation. What a cool project!
Looking great, you can remove the small rock wall near the stables and blend it. Also you could have 1 path going up to the castle and a 2nd path going towards the bottom part as well
Good morning. Jordan 😊coffee ☕👌. Great to see. You. Got this started. Other. Week. As you whanted to. Do this. Castle lay out. Under. Your city. But. Then scraped it. So great to see. You. Do this in that. Spot. 😊..👍👍 🏰.
Looking great, you left the dungeon behind so when you have more space perhaps you could build it into a mountain under a castle. A lot of everyday stuff goes on around a castle, like farming and people living in little houses with markets. Have we time travelled back to medieval Europe or are we visiting an historical place as a tourist with a modern city close by? Making that decision might help you plan what you want around the castles. I am loving it.
Maybe rethink the trees, realistically a castle wouldn't want a lot of trees next to it during medieval times. Trees would obscure line of sight and allow for besiegers to hide behind.
With trees near castles, I wonder what is historically accurate. I suspect they'd cut them down, both as firewood and to prevent any enemies from using it as cover.
I wonder if you should change the colour of the roofs on the newer castle that you built this week? I know it was blue because they matched the donor sets but both your castles have dark blue roofing, if they are different factions etc perhaps change the one at the bottom of the stairs to red, or dark red to identify them with their faction and the reds and blues can match their armies etc? It looks fantastic but i really think this would help define different parties and not one “country” etc it kind of looks like one castle community currently rather than differing castles and I think that would be less obvious as you populated the gap in the middle with markets and archery ranges etc… but great job so far.. its going to be so good to see this, the town, the mansion, winter village all in their own dedicated permanent displays.. You should do a massive Star Wars diorama too, either a hoth battle or Naboo etc, clone wars battle?
you should put your majisto sets at an angle to break up the squarines of the castles. Also try to avoid putting the trees in lines (3 on a line looks not natural put planted). nice moc you have going here!
I'm watching this again after watching from the first video in order. The tree building tutorial is great; I got some ideas for tree building from the black trees in the Lion Knights Castle set and the Forestmen's Hideout, and for really big trees from the treehouse set... which I have two of, so I have lots of parts for building the arch-brick trees. I like the hinged-branch trees too... although they can look a bit flat on top, but I'm not sure how to remedy that in a way that looks as good as the rest of the tree.
I would love to have more of those dark gray BURPs (Big Ugly Rock Pieces)... I picked up a couple of dozen of them in dark bluish gray about a year ago when they were available in the parts shop on the LEGO website, but I wish I'd bought more.
Este diorama se merece algún dragon sobrevolando la zona!!! 😊 Y un castillo integrado en la montaña también quedaría chulo, aunque sería mucho deshacer y reconstruir 😅
This looks awesome. Now I'm off to watch part 1, because that's the order RUclips decided to show them to me in. I'm getting more ideas for my own castle builds too; I really wish I'd picked up the King's Castle and other Castle sets of that series, but they came out during my LEGO Dark Age and I missed out on them, and they're too expensive to buy used now.
I think you should increase the size of the castle to the size of the rock panel this will help in a lot area for your castle battle also make the back henge or open up so you could get mini moc inside like church or a stable also decreasing all of the space the other mocs take up, I hope this help you with some ideas for your creativity. 😊😊
I love this part of the city, would be great if you did a cathedral/church something different for you but very relevant to this period. Your doing so well both of you. Hope everyone is well 😊🏴
Hi Bricksie, suggestion, why not move the dungeon that's under the raised platform to be under the King's Castle, so you see all the detail from the back side?
looking good, i recently changed all my white tables and units to the grey from ikea that very well matches lego grey colour as white always took me away from the whole scene.. looking more awesome now with my grey as just looks like stone/rock
What is a good strategy for a town / city center? What are some good colors? What size baseplates? I'm not sure. I'm thinking that a dark brown might be a good base because it's "dirt", bit I also like how some of the muddy greens look. Ideas?
First is not custom to build trees within 300 meters (900 foot) at a castle in war. They will cut before the battle. Because Archers want to have a clear sight . To make a big battle with one castle and a market... transform one castle to a city wal with a gate. Its normal (in europe) to have a walled city and a fortified castle in side (example london) .. keep building castle stuff!
Bricksie, look up Clipsie’s Bricks his latest clip, it's "Lego City Botanical Gardens MOC | Part 3 Adding the Tranquil Garden" It looks really good and I think you will like it very much. Might even let you add your Chinese Garden to it, if so wanted. So check it out, I think you will like it.
It's cool you added the winter villlidge into. The city. This time around. Than scrapping it all. Add buy. Next. Christmas . I'm guessing. You have the. New wear house .space .for a biger winter villlidge space 😊. If all go s to plan.
As an ex model railroader...trees work best in copses of odd numbers...something about the way we visually process vegetation...👍🏻 In lego world- threes and fives...
What happened to the black falcon knights castle rebuild? The one that had the big staircase in front? Would love to see how that fits in with your scene. Great channel btw
For the castle u were planning to place on a rocky landscape y not change the blue on the castle to red to match the surrounding structures, it would also make a better contrasts with the new custom castle u made because of their similar colours
I don't think you need many more trees, with the other details and 'story telling' to be arranged you wouldn't want to start hiding too many details. It's looking good though.
Enjoy watching your content but please start building at angles. Every other lego city building channel i watch, placed roads, buildings ect. at angles. Way more natural looking. Staying here waiting for you to make that change.
Jordan, Not sure if you have any control over when adverts pop up in your videos, but I gave up watching after 3 mins due having the video stop THREE times to play an advert. Sorry buddy as I love your videos... but it was just too annoying.

Hi Bricksie! You could have some peasants chopping some trees. This allows having some unfinished trees and a story 🌳🪓🪵
The progress is insane! It already looks good!

I’m really glad you bought those leaves! Always makes the landscaping better
Actually in medieval times most of the trade was outside the castle walls. Peasants lived outside. They only ran inside during war
I love that you don't have the two castles facing each other. It's more realistic in my opinion.
I’ve seen a couple videos where you talked about tree builds. The trees you built in this video made me instantly save this video for reference! I absolutely love those trees!!!!

Don't doubt the IKEA LEGO boxes!!! They offer so much verticality without using so many pieces, it was extremely smart of you to purchase so many!!
I think a giant church would be nice on the long end instead of a third castle. Religion was a big part of being a knight and would be nice to see that represented
The haunted church from Diablo!
I love this idea!
I love this idea!
I love this idea!
@@calebbeselt4983 you good? lol
A really awesome looking idea would be to place a cathedral and maybe have it integrated with one of the castles?
It's looking so great! Birch trees with the white trunk would be a nice contrast if you decide to add more trees.
I've got to remember that for my own forest! I love paper birch trees. They grow healthiest in stands of 3 or more. River birches are a cool tree, too.

The rounded pillars are a very nice feature of the castle, I think you should keep that feature when upgrading the look.
Castle vibes are always cool! :)
Looking great, you can remove the small rock wall near the stables and blend it. Also you could have 1 path going up to the castle and a 2nd path going towards the bottom part as well

Great progress, the new positions and mountain are great
One thing to account for is room for the knights to fight
Great video. Also the medieval dungeon in the platoform coverings is still in the city so you should move it somewher
Looking great, you left the dungeon behind so when you have more space perhaps you could build it into a mountain under a castle. Rebrickable has a lot of MOCs for the Medieval Blacksmith including a tavern and a chapel.

Think about putting in some dead and fallen trees. Makes it look more realistic looking.
What are you going to do with the dungeons you built into the raised platform?
YES!! More Timelapse please!

Petition to have Jordan get 1 million subs by the end of the year 👇
I'm here for you
Morning Bricksie Fam! This plate turned out awesome, kudos!!
It would look like it needs a small church or a monastery
I'm watching this again after watching from the first video in order. yes a new bricksie series i will love
Your tree with the hinges looks like a yew tree!

Favorite diorama yet ❤❤❤
Having the smaller castle at the back also helps create the illusion that it’s further away than it actually is.
The mountain/hill needs to be less square
awesome video jordan the medieval area looks amazing great job
Love your videos Bricksie! Watch them everyday
Looks so much better with the trees and foliage great job!
Hi Bricksie, suggestion, why not move the dungeon that's under the raised platform to be under the King's Castle, so you see all the detail from the back side?
Très beau diarama.
The castle layout is perfect!!!
looking good, i recently changed all my white tables and units to the grey from ikea that very well matches lego grey colour as white always took me away from the whole scene.. looking more awesome now with my grey as just looks like stone/rock
Could have built a dungeon like in the raised platform instead of flat grey walls @12:35 , I like where your going with it so far.
What is a good strategy for a town / city center? What are some good colors? What size baseplates? I'm not sure. I'm thinking that a dark brown might be a good base because it's "dirt", bit I also like how some of the muddy greens look. Ideas?
Make the trees a bit smaller and place them further apart by the kings castle and it will look like that is a great distance from each other
First is not custom to build trees within 300 meters (900 foot) at a castle in war. They will cut before the battle. Because Archers want to have a clear sight .
To make a big battle with one castle and a market... transform one castle to a city wal with a gate. Its normal (in europe) to have a walled city and a fortified castle in side (example london) .. keep building castle stuff!
Once you have the final layout built, and add a bunch more trees … adding a few forest animals would make sense too (deer, birds, squirrels, etc.)
it would be cool if you put a dungeon under the castle in the cliff.
I admire the fact you are still building stuff knowing you are going to have to move it all
When you make your battle, have a unit cutting down a tree(s) to make a catapult or something.
I think the corner castle needs some tunnels or a mine underneath it. Also you should add the Frozen castle to diorama LOL
looks good. maybe Kitty corner the castle And raise it up one more time
Do you have space to add a mini ruined tower for the new vampire night cmf :)
Bricksie, look up Clipsie’s Bricks his latest clip, it's "Lego City Botanical Gardens MOC | Part 3 Adding the Tranquil Garden"
It looks really good and I think you will like it very much.
Might even let you add your Chinese Garden to it, if so wanted.
So check it out, I think you will like it.
still think a huge wall around one of the castles would be nice,,... then a siege scene .....of course space kills dreams :)
i think a bunch of landscaping would look good at the castle diorama a small mountain with a cave
It's cool you added the winter villlidge into. The city. This time around. Than scrapping it all. Add buy. Next. Christmas . I'm guessing. You have the. New wear house .space .for a biger winter villlidge space 😊. If all go s to plan.
As an ex model railroader...trees work best in copses of odd numbers...something about the way we visually process vegetation...👍🏻
In lego world- threes and fives...
I would have a market outside the falcon knights Castle
What happened to the black falcon knights castle rebuild? The one that had the big staircase in front? Would love to see how that fits in with your scene. Great channel btw
For the castle u were planning to place on a rocky landscape y not change the blue on the castle to red to match the surrounding structures, it would also make a better contrasts with the new custom castle u made because of their similar colours
Bricksie why don’t you use the new rock platform to add the undercastle scene you have on the elevated platform in the city? Just an idea
i see u changed the bridge looks way better now imo
Looks much better ❤
How did you fit the Lion knights castle in? I have it in a layout but it just sits on top. Is there a template or something?
Love the progress! Since you are doing a medieval battle have you considered siege weapons?
If you put the castle on a 45 degree angle would be cool
I think if you should add some paths, mud, rocks, animals, and bushes around plus some small medieval builds and the diorama would be completely full
Do a Robin Hood scene! :)
How about a haunted wooded area with werewolves, ghosts, witches and stuff?
Great build and here is a mad idea why not put the castle on the rock at a 45 degree angle
Awesome
Day 34 of asking for a double corner town hall!
If you need knights lmk. I have a bunch I need to sell in whatnot including bardings.
How about a troll living under the bridge?
Corner castle @ 45 degrees??? 😬
Up for the challenge?
Build the back corner castle into the cliff and not on top of the cliff
As if the castle is extend out from a cliff
I was wondering. is Milly named afther the milsplate system. cause you seem to like it a lot ;-)
Trees are bigger at the bottom than they are at the top. If it were the reverse, they'd be top heavy and fall over
Depends on the tree...technically palm trees are bigger in the top!
The castle should be one layer higher
Get rid of one castle and add a village!
Now my question is why would santa have a prison
I don't think you need many more trees, with the other details and 'story telling' to be arranged you wouldn't want to start hiding too many details. It's looking good though.
Too bad you can not have the knights fighting a dragon out in a field somewhere
Enjoy watching your content but please start building at angles. Every other lego city building channel i watch, placed roads, buildings ect. at angles. Way more natural looking. Staying here waiting for you to make that change.
Jordan, Not sure if you have any control over when adverts pop up in your videos, but I gave up watching after 3 mins due having the video stop THREE times to play an advert. Sorry buddy as I love your videos... but it was just too annoying.
i feel that you are really bad at flat terrain bulding.
