Hey Kevin. I just wanted to drop you a comment and say how much I’ve been enjoying your videos over the last several months! You and others helped inspire me and my 12 year old son to do a cross country drive from Southern Ontario to Vancouver, then back through US. Mostly car camping out of the back of my Subaru Impreza! This took place at the start of July before the fires. We stayed a couple of nights in Revelstoke. It was by far one of the most beautiful spots. I recognize some of the areas we were from your videos. We stayed at the Williamson Lake Campground. While our trip is done, I feel like I’m reliving it through videos. Thanks man!
That’s so awesome!!!! Thank you for watching!!!
Hiya Kevin, how are you doing?
Wow what can I say the views were absolutely awesome, the mountains and the lakes amazing.
Stunning mate, Thank you.
Take care 😘❤ X X X
What a cute laugh he has! Warms my heart❤️ 🥰 The hiking trail views are beautiful!
What A Day…. Is right! More absolutely stunning scenes and views Kevin!!!!🤠Thank you for letting me tag along. Most likely that I will never take that hike, but I would rather you do the hiking and biking and I get to see it through your eyes. It is such a blessing to see GOD’S thrilling Creation, and to think about Heaven being even more Amazing beautiful. I will be able to hike the mountains myself❤️🙏 Blessings to you, I pray that you realize such blessings that you get to enjoy. Keep traveling safely❤️🙏
Most people struggle to get 10k steps in a day to help stay fit. You did 26km which equates to 52000 steps. You burned some serious calories. High five! I wish I could walk like that. I am 58 with knee issues because of the Army and being a paratrooper. They don’t tell you jumping out of a perfectly good airplane hurts your knees. At least Bahrain sand is a little cushioning! LOL!
You're living the life I yearn for. Until my time to venture begins, I thank you for all you do to present me magnificent views.
And I thank you for watching!!!!
Another great video! I miss screaming down groomed mountain biking trails. That bike is sick!
People in Arizona go up to higher elevation in the summer where it's cooler, then when the snow start, they go down to the desert during the winter where it's 70 and 80. That's how they do it. I got an AC on the top of my truck camper but I use a Honda 2000 generator to run it. I'm keeping the rooftop AC/Heater and cutting another hole and installing a MaxAir Fresh/Exhaust Fan after I pay for the new air shocks on my GMC 1500 (original shocks are over 20 years old now, the truck is a 2003).
Good morning Kevin. I’m very close to selling my house and hitting the road. Maybe I will see you out there and we could go for a hike. I will be ice climbing in the Rockies all winter and will keep an eye out for your rig.
Awesome Canadian Rockies scenery. Well done sir.
Beautiful lakes and hike! Can't wait to hike and experience Canada for myself. I've been told to buy a whole size up for hiking boots and they were right! Makes all the difference in the world.
You are awesome, I really enjoy your energy,
Thank you so much!
This video was absolutely stunning, and the scenery was some of the most beautiful I have ever seen filmed. Thank you so much for sharing it with us.
Keep up the great inspiration. Thanks Kevin
Great living vicariously thru your videos, can't wait to get the time to travel across Canada to the west coast.
I've got a lifted 21' Starflyte. We're going to update all the systems and get it overland ready. Still a couple years away but on the East coast we have lots to explore as well. I'm in NS . We'll be warming up the rig in NFLD. before we head west. I'll certainly be running in your tracks.
EXCELLENT VIDEOS!!! Love seeing what it is like to live in an rv/van in Canada while exploring our great country. Thanks for also showing the realities of it too. Your vidoes depicting your personal experience along with showing the beautiful scenery makes me envious of you. Go slow and take it all in. Life flies by too quickly. LOL!!!
This video was breathtaking Kevin. I never tire of it. Beauty everywhere. Thanks 😊
Wow! 8c/46d, nice and cool. It had been 90d in KY USA. Enjoy that temp, that is my favorite to be chilly waking up! Great video!
Great video as always. Can't wait for the next one Kevin!
Watching you ride that trail on your bike on my large tv made me feel like I was on a rollercoaster. 😂I felt it I my stomach lol
Eco Flow makes a small portable AC with a battery pack, that can defiantly run off of a campers electricity system. and you don't even have to permanently attach it. its made for tents and van life so it should be more then enough to cool of a truck camper. If you have something like a solar generator to power it on sunny days "really the times youll need it the most" your all set :)
Awesome views, that’s a heck of a hike. Thanks Kevin.
What a beautiful video. Thank you. I would love to hike that and see that view. Amazing. You do a wonderful job with your videos. I love them.
Love the videos and the journey. I just came back from Canmore through Revelstoke to Kelowna and back and I kept on the lookout for your vehicle…
Im currently on the island, my videos are about a month behind as they come out lol
Thank you for sharing this! Had an amazing experience at Jade Lake 30 years ago! We went through hot sun, rain, hail & knee deep snow in July! Great memories!
Hi Kevin, if you ever get really bored maybe spend some time and love up the jacks on your camper, they look very rusted. 😉😊
Lmao it’s on the list of many things to do lol
Thank you for sharing the beautiful views!
Wow, thanks so much for taking us along on your hike today - what beautiful scenery, and it was so lovely hearing you enjoy it so much too. This Aussie is drooling! We don’t have such high or spectacular mountains here. Fabulous video - thank you.
We have a rooftop a/c and batteries enough to power it overnight so when we need it, it’s there, including times we leave the dog in the van. It’s an expense and the best answer when you can is to gain altitude, that’s why we live on wheels. Keep on keeping on.
WOW Kevin what a BEAUTIFUL video!! Thank you sooooooo much for sharing. Every new video gets better & your looking more relaxed....keep them coming❤❤ Also, sorry about the Chrome post🫣
Enjoy watching your adventures...love the details and location, distance of each ride or hike..keep it real!!!
Great hikes n views! Thx!
So while hiking that remotely, do u have a way to send an emergency sos, like a gps locator kinda thing?
Like just what if u twisted an ankle, or zooming down hill mountain biking n flew off bike n broke something, only asking cause i've heard a lot of freak accidents n when you're alone ya need a way to call for help? 🍻
I was going to get a dedicated one but the subscription is a lot, like 30 bucks a month and the iPhone 14 and 15 both have an sos satellite messaging now for those emergencies, they actually use star link satellites to do that! It’s pretty cool and makes me wonder where all this is going next lol
Hello Kevin,
Another wonderful video with spectacular scenery. Thanks for sharing. Stay safe and keep up the good work.
talking about traveling slow it took me 3 days to travel from Sault St. Marie Ontario to Calgary and 4 days from Calgary to Jasper along the Icefield Pkwy did that trip a couple of years ago, I will heading back this winter to ski BC and Alberta
Yeh, without a doubt, your video, audio and editing have improved so much since the early days. Great job - you should be proud of it too. Love that view from the loo! High expectations for this channel. As always, thx for sharing!
Thank you!!!!
Great video!
Thank you so much!!!! I really appreciate that!!
Just seeing what you up today? Hope all is well with you, we lost two great hockey players Johnny Gaudreau and brother Mathew , so this keeps my mind off the sadness of the situation!!!❤️🇨🇦👍stay safe
I seen that, it’s horrible news
Beautiful Alpine lakes and mountains!!!!
Damned Kevin!! You are in an absolutely beautiful area. I’m super jealous 😂
My legs got tired just watching that trek.😂 Safe and fun adventures to you good sir. 🏔️🤙
Bro, been loving the channel! You should totally get a tent and backpack up there and camp for a night. Keep up the great content! 👊
Hey Kevin G’day from Australia I just purchased 2024 VWCrafter van and it’s set for it’s fit out Nov 24 and after 36 years in the Army I’m looking forward to the freedom
Congrats! That’s awesome!!! Enjoy the freedom!!!
Awesome!! We are very blessed in Canada.👍😎💫
Yes we are! I’m grateful to be born in this beautiful place I call my back yard!!!
JUST BEAUTIFUL 😍 Carry on!!
26k is awesome!! Great video!
New subscriber. Been watching your vid's. Good stuff bud. See you out there. Cheers.
Amazing views. It's like the movie Couple Retreat, where they say it looks like a screen saver.
I'm sure you put on twice the mileage Kevin going back for your camera lol, great video.
Well hello beautiful eyes 👀 Kevin hope you're doing well and hope you're having amazing weekend and have awesome 😎 Labor day amazing video
I hope you’re having an amazing weekend as well!!!
@@KevinWaldsAdventures good night beautiful eyes 👀 sweet dreams
That’s a bummer you didn’t get to hike in Glacier. I camped 4 nights at Illecillewaet a couple years ago and did a bunch of hikes solo! Though, I was on high alert for grizzlies on the trails😳
Hopefully you’ll get another chance next season.
Hey Kevin, I am new to your channel (came over from Kenny of all Trades) and really enjoying your videos. Amazing views on your hikes. Question for you. Maybe you’ve mentioned in other videos but what watch do you have for tracking all your hikes? I am looking for something to buy and yours seems to provide lot info and quick/easy to ready while on the go. Thanks for any info. I appreciate all the effort you put into your videos to allow us to experience so much through your camera lens. Stay safe out there!
Hey thanks for coming over!! I use the Apple Watch SE, I film and daily driver phone is a iPhone and watching lots of reviews for fitness tracking the Apple Watch ranked very high and my only grime with it is the battery life a little bit, a multi day hike it would not last without a charge, look into garmin for real long battery life
Too bad for the bike, you should consider a hardtail or a fully rigid with some bigger tires. Pain in the butt sending parts away for maintenance. Keep up the good work, the vids are great!
I like my full squish too much 😂
Really nice video. 😀
This Calgarian would go hiking any season and in any weather❤. Would love to meet up and I would be ok w all you need to do. I think I could keep up with your pace ;) Love hiking and biking around Calgary in Alberta Parks. Awesome video as usual Kevin, enjoy them, look forward to what you teach us and see the hikes you do. Amazing hike this one, beautiful. That would be an awesome camp spot in a tent by the lake!! Double socks and one size up helps feet while hiking. That long of a hike I would change my socks halfway. Maybe try a wider style toe hiker, might help.
You have some biking skills. Sorry about the repairs. Maybe try to come to Calgary to get it fixed, might be less cost. Where you are currently, the surrounding bikes shops are usually double the price compared to Calgary. Sounds like Calgary may not be in the travel route/plans soon though. Fall is amazing for mountain biking/hiking in the area, fav. Hope you can get it figured out.
Love how you spend your days, you are not old…you appreciate precious peace of nature.
Stay safe ❤ :)
My shock is fixed now lol spoiler the shop that rebuilds those was closed, owner went to the Yukon, honestly couldn’t blame him Yukon sounds beautiful lol I sent it to s4 in Whistler and picked it up when I got down there, it was cheaper than a new shock I guess 😂
@@KevinWaldsAdventuresThat is good news. Glad it worked out for you so you can still enjoy some rides. Appreciate the reply back. Hope your long weekend is going well :)
I was in Vancouver island 40 years ago beautiful mountains 🏔️ and lakes but my next place to go is willow Alaska then my Bucket list will be done
Next week is August? Dude, tomorrow's September! Hope you got your shock fixed. As far as your foot, keep walking on it, but remember you did this so, when you're 70, like me, you know why it hurts so bad. Blisters could be from your socks. Try some Darn Toughs. Expensive, but guaranteed. If you get a hole in them, they'll replace them. Beautiful hike.
Great Video! I have a question for you, one that I always worry about when on the road. Since I own an 06 dodge 5.9 cummins. Have you ever had a breakdown, been stranded, if so what did you do? I find myself alone and way in the backcountry. Not sure what I would do if I couldn't get my truck started.
I should make a video about this but if your in the back country and that happens either you’ll have to flag someone down and be prepared to maybe hike out, the other thing is a satellite messenger or get starlink. I had an injector go in my first week after I gave up possession of my house and all I did was drop the camper at a campground and sent the truck to a diesel shop, took about a week in northern Alberta.
Come down to Utah and we'll go hiking and film each other! But I'm not fast lol. I went and test drove a 1ton pickup today that I was hoping would work to put a camper on but I absolutely hated it. The search continues. Thanks for the vid!
I gotta make it to Utah one of these days!!!
@@KevinWaldsAdventures Utah is awesome, but I'm biased since it's my home state lol. I do love driving through AB, BC, and the Yukon though, going to and from Alaska over the years. Western Canada is spectacular.
Great video. 😊 Question. Is Victoria BC the warmest place in Canada in the winter?
Yes lol I believe so
I thought you had your shock fixed in Whistler? Maybe I dreamt that 😂 Hopefully it isn't too long of a wait for you!
Also, have you ever checked out Bootleg for mountain biking in the East Kootenay's by Kimberley?
No I was going to do a bunch out there, I still might when I’m on my way back from the island 🏝️ I did end up fixing it in Whistler, at the time I was filming I didn’t realize I’d have to get it done in Whistler lol
❤❤❤❤
cucumberland has the best trails? i'd have to check those out!
Great video as usual. I still think that if you converted celsius and km to miles and fahrenheit you’d increase your viewership, and I did see that one graphic of 86 degrees 😂. Also, some other travel channels often show a map cutaway showing the area you are referring to, and I like when they do that.
Isn't it only you Americans who don't use metric, unlike the rest of the world 🤷♀️
@@joanneburford6364 actually I’m Canadian, which means I use both systems, depending on the subject, I weight things in pounds and use Celsius for weather temps but cook using using Fahrenheit, and measure distance in km, unless it is a person’s height, then I measure in feet and inches. It’s complicated 🤣. My uninformed advice was to help Kevin get more subscribers, as it’s a great channel but needs more audience, and the U.S. is a big potential audience.
@Mikel9999-vh3cb then the US needs to catch up to the rest of the world and we should stop catering to them.
Great views & hike. Thanks for sharing. 1) Consider hiking with bear spray & know how to access & use it with your eyes closed. Backcountry hiker & RN here who has encountered bears but it only took one badly behaved bear for me to use my bear spray. As an RN I really don't want to see you or anyone come into my care with a injury from a bear. 2) Consider some type of Garmin inReach for sos calls 3) You should be able to find people to hike with in an area through searches on local FB or "meetup" groups. EnJOY your travels.
I always head out with bear spray and iPhone 14 and 15 have satellite sos now as well. I try to mitigate the danger as much as I can, I’ve had one bear encounter when I was much younger and it’s freaked me out a bit since then lol
@@KevinWaldsAdventures Good to know. Take care!
Man I wish I lived in a place I could go do all that!
Love the vids Kevin hope it all works out for ya!
You need a pac brake for your diesel..they are amazing I had one installed on my chevy express van ...they make them for yours as well.
Dustin, from Destination Adventure, just did a short vid on his. Seems like such a good thing for the diesel rigs, saving one’s brakes.👍
I’d try one but I have heard they don’t work well at low speeds with the automatic transmission. I really want a manual truck 😂
@@KevinWaldsAdventures Goals ! 👍
You cannot be living here in Arizona with out AC! The temperatures are very high in the summer over 100 F
Why do people do that? If they really want to camp, leave the music, the tvs and the phones at home and really listen to the world around you. Otherwise why not just stay home. I go out there for the peace and solitude not someone's loud music.
I'm confused, I saw you pumping diesel by the litre, you just spoke of an 8 kilometer hike but you're driving on the right side of the road. Where are you? I mean, which country?
Canada eh 🇨🇦
@@KevinWaldsAdventures oh ok. I didn't know Canada was like that. That's interesting to know. Thank you.
Dont know if there is any truth to it but I’ve heard that shocks need to remain in their operating position or the oil will leak to the opposite end of the shock. 🤷🏻♂️
That shouldn’t be the issue as this shock is mounted on many bikes in different positions. I’m pretty sure the issue was I had the bike in a storage unit all winter and I don’t think the shock liked -48 for a week lol I’m going to remove it this winter.
Any bears out there? My big fear..
I always think they are everywhere and they scare me too but bear attacks are very rare in the scope of other things that could hurt me, my pointers are go into the forest and talk out loud to yourself, keep looking ahead and around and pack bear spray, I’ve seen 2 bears this year in my entire 3 months of traveling, all while in my truck lol have fun out there!!!
Could’ve simply “identified” as a group of 4.😂
😂
Why four people for the trail?
Bear activity
Jeez man get some proper tie downs for the rear. You seriously anchored a 2500 lb camper to the rear bumper?
The happijac system does exactly the same thing
I’m talking about a proper tie down point either built into the hitch or frame to actually hold that camper onto your truck. Not attaching it to some weak ass oem bumper designed to crumple. Torklift makes some nice mounts for the rear.
That’s a custom rig, >$250k
Doing your hiking shoes up to tight will bruise your foot
Geesh! Next thing you know, you'll be telling him to tuck in his shoelaces to avoid tripping. Y'know, he's a big boy now with his own truck and RUclips channel. Thanks, Mom!
