Do you have sn emergency vehicle kit? In case of emergency survival kit? That includes tealight candles, freeze dried meals, water, blanket, in your case, instant coffee packets. Waterproof, windproof matches. Whistle, if you can't call out for help then you can blow on a whistle. We were given survival kits when wildfire season, posed a threat to our isolated community.

Snowboard Mt Washington! I have always been torn between the Island and rural Kamloops. I love them both. I always had that sadness leaving the Island except for my last move back to Kamloops. Follow your heart Kevin .

Just a suggestion but next time you come to the island try the Duke Point/Tswassen ferry. You miss all the Vancouver traffic.Oh and BC Ferries give different rates for different times of travel. They are trying to spread out ferry traffic by giving incentives to go on less busy ferry times. Love your content. The island would most certainly welcome you back.

From the Tsawwassen ferry don't drive all the way into Vancouver, just after landing take route 3 out of Tsawwassen which passes below Vancouver and picks up the trans Canada highway out by Langley

The island is awesome but so is mainland BC and Alberta. My choice is the island in April and May and October and Interior of BC,Alberta Rockies,, Nordegg, Yellowhead all the way out to Saskatchewan in the summer.

You should buy fuel in Aussie...so expensive...love watching what you are doing..ever thought of getting a dog..a companion..best mate...just saying...

Good timing, leaving when you did, as the passes are white outs this weekend. I resigned myself to remove the camper yesterday, and vaca locally now. I feel blessed to have my home as a mainstay, and the truck/camper for excitement when weather permits. Ski hills open end of month-ish, so Happy adventuring ! Safe travels dude. 🏔️🤙

Awesome trail you took us on Kevin! Perfect weather also! I lived in Calgary from the mid seventies til the mid eighties to move back to Quebec. I went a lot in the Rockies with family and friends. Those mountains brought back many great memories. Enjoy your time with your family! Gawd dude. I’ve lived on the island and a few gulf islands most of my life. I guess it’s easy to take things for granted being so close to nature. I’ve tried living on the mainland for a few years working at YVR but…it’s a different lifestyle. Too busy and stressful for me. Now I’m living waterfront in parksville. Being a self employed carpenter has its perks. I need to get a camper like you for my truck. Thanks for the inspiration.

Kevin, what incredible scenery! I am planning to do some traveling in some of the same areas you’ve been in. Whenever I watch the your videos (especially the older ones) I wonder what the date is that you are shooting as I might want to do similar hikes and wouldn’t want to be there at the wrong time. Might it be possible to give the date you are shooting the videos to get the full picture. Also, wondering how much gain you have on some of your hikes - helpful to know if I could handle some of your beautiful hikes as I’ve had a few more birthdays than you! Great video! Enjoyed it all! Especially Glacier Park. It’s been many years since I was there. Every year we’d hike the Skyline Trail, at the top of the mountain ridge. The trail began off the parking lot of the Information Center and went through to Waterton on the Canadian side. We’d turn around just before the overnight hut. The wildlife we’d see on that hike was incredible:: herds of elk, deer, big-horn sheep just to start with. Your video brought back wonderful memories. Thank you for taking us on the hike. I hadn’t hiked that trail and it was great seeing it! The views of the mountains, the glacier, and especially the trail itself were so special! Because of a progressively deteriorating ankle, I can walk only short distances on level surfaces (mostly human made), so not even short distances on trails are available to me now. So it was the best treat to see the footage of the trail as you hiked. Awesome!

A couple of tips for you Kevin we camp right at the gate to the ferry when we are taking our Rv off the island on the first ferry. Go there after last ferry which is usually around 10 pm at Departure bay. They bang on your door in the morning when they open the gates. Guarantees you a spot on the ferry. Also search sailing bookings on the res site it gives you the availability and prices for all the sailings on the day you want to travel you can pick the cheaper sailings.
