And thats exactly why I can't wait to do it. Plus it's easier to get around and leave for a fresh view when you want to. I hope my trucks here soon so I too can leave and finally feel that way again too. Was suppose to be this weekend. Feeling at home has a lot to do with contentment. If you're not happy with where you are or what you're doing, you aren't going to be happy anywhere. Home is where the ❤is! As I said in one of your videos, a mini wood stove is ideal for heaters. One RUclipsr said she would never go back to a propane or diesel heater. She loves her wood stove and wood can be found near any camping spot. I hope you carry a GPS tracker and bear spray. I know it doesn't happen often but it only takes one time; even here in Maine, men have been attacked by a black bear or moose (I don't know if it would stop a moose to be honest, lol).

You've inspired me my dude. I bought a pop up truck camper this last fall. I have a large RV but wanted something so I could pull my jet boat. I'm gonna get out into these remote spots a little more that I know in crowsnest.... forestry trunk all the way to edson. Thanks for your content man.
Great information Kevin! Great small things that I wouldn’t have considered like the air flow under the cabover & clothing lockers! Thank you for that!
Hi Kevin, Wherever I have been I love coming home, even thow it's on a different way of living it works for me. Loved the golden tree's in the first part of your video, wow amazing views. There's nothing better than our Mom's soup ❤. Take care X X X
My favourite statement on this episode… ‘Wow if there was something to see I’d see alot of it’ 😂😂😂 I think that every time I go to Alberta/Saskatchewan to visit relatives
Just beautiful. Love your excitement! I knew that was “mom” soup as soon as you brought it out. That’s the cozy comfort food on a cold night❤️ I’m really enjoying your travels.
Sask, flat and booooring. Drove from yorkton to Edmonton this past summer and I thought it was the longest road trip of my life. I really did not enjoy.give me good old Alberta,we have it all. Mountains, lakes, forests. But that’s is just me. Lucky you, heading back to the mountains.❤️❤️
HI KEVIN WATCHING YOU NOW, GLAD YOU SPENT TIME WITH YOUR FAMILY 👍😊YOU BE CAREFUL OUT THERE, I LOVE WHEN YOU'RE SAY SOMETHING AND LAUGH THAT CUTE LAUGH, I WATCHED YOU YESTERDAY WHERE YOU PUT A CANDLE ON CUPCAKE BIT IT CREAM ON YOUR MOUTH WAS SO CUTE JUST ENJOY YOUR LIFE BE SAFE KEEP THE JOY TAKE DAY BY DAY AND ENJOY, IT'S NICE WHERE YOU'RE AT, BEAUTIFUL! I first thought watch 10 mins then move on to the video I was planning to. then haha I ended up watching whole. it was fun to watch. thanks for sharing
Thank you for sharing all of the beautiful scenery. I loved it! To be honest, I had no idea that Canada was so gorgeous . Well I cannot express how grateful I am for you showing us all the diversity of Canada. LOVE FROM IOWA! 😊❤❤❤
Wonderful video! Loved the hike and the views in the desert country! Really beautiful! Loved your tuna salad mixing method, and it looked delicious! Interesting drive, interesting tidbits about the camper, and the areas you drove through, etc! Just a fantastic video! I’m excited to be beginning this year’s winter portion of your truck camping life! Already looking forward to the next video!
I didn’t know Canada had a badlands like the states until you showed us in a previous video. Beautiful and I love the different colors! 👍🏻💙 You went by what I’m calling the double humped camel with its head stretched out on the ground rock it was amazing! 👍🏻
Great video. I was reminded of all the times I drove between Edmonton/ Calgary and Winnipeg to see my parents. 1200 km (750 miles) of pure flat prairie! Could you add the date when tit was filmed? I think that western Saskatchewan / Eastern Alberta had more snow on November 30!
Truly one of the best of your videography performance is and all of it love it when you cook and your videography especially when you show your truck driving and the camera's back up high on a hill or something don't know how you do it don't know if you use a drone or what but that is beautiful drone footage with the places you go would be awesome your videography made my morning and it's also getting interesting on your coffee because never was into the dry roast kind that's already like done never really investigated don't even know about it are there different brands do they have different tastes could you teach us the procedure they make them how are they made that would be a good episode and then also a really good one is the camper and truck ok what I mean is supposedly back in this early '70s you could buy a camper and a truck and there would be a doorway thorough from the cab into the camper they made them like that I think in 73 and you would think that would be like an amazing Edition or I don't know how those workarounds go but it would be really cool if you did an episode where you could show us those because really the camper you're doing far is better than a van or a car because you can stand in it and the construction of those are way more insulated and the designs are amazing you have so much room in there And yer standing!
Greedy! 🤗🤤 Lol Beautiful and picturesque as always. Hope you will get your snow if not you can have some from here. 🥶 Tc and stay safe. See ya next time. 👋🇧🇻
Another great video Kev I believe you should put your diesel heater in it will save you a lot more money so you could stay at those extra paid camp spots a little longer not to mention you'll have more content installing it not to mention backup heat Source in winter time is always a good idea I'd rather do it now then to be lying in a snowbank doing it looking forward to your next vid
Definitely need to take my 9.6 camper to the badlands. My daughter just moved to Sundre so also great to see video of your experience on that road network.
No surprise you made it over the mountain pass. I have a 5.9 Cummins 2001 dodge ram 2500 too, And it doesn't even feel my 1500 pound camper. I still can smoke the tires if I was dumb enough.
I think that long dirt road that you were on is the same one I was on in September, I think it was the 532, if it is I boondocked on a little pull-off just before you get to that pass. Super windy night, I literally thought my van was gonna blow over, I wish I’d kept going another hour or so there was much better Boondocking on the other side of the past. Was a pretty wild road.
I was in Arizona last year and I absolutely loved the deserts and the mountains. Canada is on my bucket list and Alberta is definitely a place to camp. The rock formations are so kool. Thanks for sharing this video.
Hi Kevin. Awesome video (justifiable trees and all!😅) Welcome back! You might enjoy Dry Island Ptovincial Park, just north of Drumheller. There is a Buffalo Jump.👍😎🇨🇦
I’m thinking of putting an inflatable donut between my cab rear sliding window and the little camper window, so I can send heat out back while I drive. I never travel with my propane tank(s) on, so it would be nice to climb into a semi warm camper. Safe travels Kevin. ❄️🤙
I installed my diesel heater under/behind the stove in my Lance 1181 if that can give you ideas. I had very little option because of the slide. Half duck to the basement and half to the door entrance. I use it more like a base load on minimum all the time and use the propane furnace as needed on top of that.
Hey Kevin, the diesel heater hole cut isn’t as bad as you think. I sealed around my hole with heat caulk the red stuff. If you do it in a spot no one sees it you’ll never know it’s there. Cheers from Vernon BC. If you are coming back through I’d be happy to help you.
I’ve done an install of one before and it’s pretty simple, at the moment my heating system are working well beyond what I imagined… turns out this camper is quite a beast in the cold compared to my 1998 9-6 lol. -22 in Calgary and the furnace only runs every 45 min lol
I call those flying tumbke weeds. Cuz thats all u see. Its beautiful at first glance n its rhe ebst drive for thinking. Feels a kinda lonely earie absence, but its pretty as fk. But your right about that feeling. I really can't wait to be able to do the same thing again. Your not missing anyhting in a home or apt. Cuz u can do all those things in a truck camper or a riny homenof some sort. What you cant get is the views and rhe memorys of a great place. You can change where u are every day. You cant do that in a house when u get lonely. All u see is the same 4 walls. It gets incredibly boring lonely, and its too quiet. When your out n about its like u went on a vacation and u meet new ppl even if onky for a short time. But its like a breath of fresh air and has a nostalgic feeling about it you cant get any place else. Plus u ski. So u can jop in and get warm cook n sleep and move onto the next place. U save ao much money and u can share it on ytube with so many ppl. Its incredibly good for you to see new places. I love that. I love the fires in winter or summer. I love that feeling of being free ro do and go wherever u like. You can get the heaters on ali express for way cheaper than amazon. So if u need a new one, they are now 180 bucks. Good coffee advice 😂 i thought i was the weird one that did things like that. I wish mine would last me 3 weeks. My instant last me a week lmao of that. Fif i hear that right? 3 wks? Lol i like tasters choice original its on for 445 at sobeys and foodland grocery stores. Walmart always sells it pretty cheap. But not places charge 9 bucks plus tax. I tolf them to gove me a raincheck for 10 yesterday lmao are u buying the larger container n it lasts u 3 wks or the small one? The flu is going around. It sucks the energy from you and affects all yiur muscles. It lasts a good 3 wks and i had a headache prior n after the worst week. Aka 2nd week. Everyone i watch on ytube is saying the ssme rhing about energy levels. So u may have picked the bug up. Well im in ontario so im not sure of its Thanksgiving where u are. But if so happy thanksgiving if so. It is not here and i really dont celebrate it. I live by myself now. So its another day alrhough i love a good stuffed turkey dinner 😂. Safe travels. So cant wait to get out there again. Ots snowing so bad here right now. The santa paradenis on in a few hrs. I got a great view inside for that. Lol Cup of hot chocolate and a good view. Who could beat that right now. Although you found a great spot. Id have a fire if it was okay where you are. That is so beautiful wow. 😊❤ Have a great day kevin. I love all your videos and the places you go. Its like we sre right there and i love that. Take care.
Kevin , as your filming, whilst driving, at about one o’clock there is a black something on your windshield that I keep thinking is a ufo. It has been there for weeks. Keep on trucking !
Hi from Australia. Really enjoy your down to earth videos Kevin. Your camper is awesome, providing everything you need and looks so comfortable and secure. I do have a question - I notice when you are videoing from within the cabin of your car that it rocks from side to side - why is that? Is it a stability issue or just normal for slideons due to their height and weight? Just curious. Anyways take care on your journeys and wishing you a safe and happy Christmas. God Bless.
It’s pretty normal, most truck camper will make you a bit more top heavy, dually handles it better but you still get some rock to it. Merry Christmas! 🎅
I do not believe you drink "too much coffee"; I do believe you could up your game a littlebit with a French Press! Edit: And, Good Coffee no more instant. ;)
Love the Bandlands of Drumheller ❤. Not sure if you GeoCache or not, but there is quite a few Cache’s to find in the Hoodoos, love your’re content. Merry Christmas 🎉 For camping near the Hoodoos try Bleriot Ferry campground. No power though. And it’s beside the Reddeer river. Beautiful spot.
I seen that during the summer! I was researching and then the big heat wave came in and I decided against it at the time, would be great to do next summer! This was all taken October 14th-16th
Interesting you should say that because I found out that they put carrageenan into instant coffee and it's a carcinogen, made from red algae with is dangerous compared to green algae. Don't know why they allow it.
What road did you travel on to ftr from cowboy trail. I would like to see that one day soon. I've never seen that part of the ftr yet. Looks beautiful.
Really like Alberta, but it has the most expensive provincial campgrounds of any province. No self registration either.b seems to be only online booking. Better to boondock. Next time your are there, try out Steffville Bridge provincial campground just down the road. $10/night
Every day, I look forward to climbing into my cozy little home... Shockingly, it's the safest place I've ever felt so comfortable...
Right!!! I feel more at home in mine than anywhere else!!!

Always enjoy time with your family because you never know when you won't be able to
Your natural joy and laughter and sharing the beautiful scenery made my day better, I cant explain it. Maybe it's the peace you seem to be in, with being alone on the road, it helped me to feel less alone today. Thank you.
Gotta love your enthusiasm for life.😊😊😊😊
I just, recently, came upon your channel.🙂 I adore the sounds of jingling keys, the camper/truck doors opening/closing, crunching of gravel/dry leaves & dry twigs underfoot, food sizzling on the stovetop, as much as the awe inspiring Canadian terra and fauna. Simply perfect. Thank you, from a lower 48s viewer, and now subscriber. Merry Christmas and best in the New Year, Kathleen, in northern Virginia

I started watching when you were in the Van Isle area. I enjoy your journeys and your giggle. Seven ice cubes indeed.
While watching,I started to realize that you kinda look like my brother. Same colouring. Same size. Same giggle. Same age when he took his own life in Edmonton. Tomorrow is the 27th anno of my brother Kevin’s death. I sometimes wonder if my Kevin would have just gotten in a van and drove away instead.
Forgive me if I get comfort from imaging my Kevin waking up in a beautiful campsite. Keep on Truckin’
I love the way you look and sound so happy and share your joy with us. Thanks.😊
Beautiful scenery, your laugh is so infectious, and you have a lovely smile. I wonder if millions of years ago, there was a sea in that area, who knows.😊

Take care.
Great video. LOved every minute of it!
Thank you 😊
Kevin , as your filming, whilst driving, at about one o’clock there is a black something on your windshield that I keep thinking is a ufo. It has been there for weeks. Keep on trucking !
Probably my crappy windshield that won’t crack just has chips 😂 I’ll prob look into replacing it soon
If youre ever in Ottawa, come say hi. We have hookups and theres a free dump station nearby!
…and now under a metre of snow…😂❄️👍
Edit: And, Good Coffee no more instant. ;)
Look into the X3 bar or other resistance bands for portable strength training
I do have a kit of bands too
One of my fave vids for sure. Let me know if you're ever passing by Strathmore, steak dinner on me. :)
Merry Christmas 🎅!!
Howdy Kevin
Howdy again from Oman 🇴🇲
Great vid. Question for you. What keeps your camper tanks from freezing when driving?
Keep the furnace on, the water heater I preheat before driving and that will hold heat for 4 hours in extreme cold.
Don’t forget the brown recluse scorpions and cactus that are down there haha
think the BR is a spider…
@@blueman5924absolutely, I don’t have the best punctuation but what I meant is brown recluse, scorpions and cactus😂
Was this early November. Next year you should do gray creek pass. You’d have no trouble mid summer. It’s beautiful and would make a great video.
I seen that during the summer! I was researching and then the big heat wave came in and I decided against it at the time, would be great to do next summer! This was all taken October 14th-16th
are those trees balsam poplar at the Dinosaur park?
Cotton wood I believe
Ha! Instant isn’t real coffee! 😂
Interesting you should say that because I found out that they put carrageenan into instant coffee and it's a carcinogen, made from red algae with is dangerous compared to green algae. Don't know why they allow it.
You’re where I live! My girlfriend runs that UFA,😊
I bet your parents are proud to call you son.
Kevin, do you ever pack extra fuel or food if you know there is going to be a really bad snow storm. Great content as always.
I usually have enough food always anyways
Always keep fuel above half
Also… 3:12 you need to go back there and find out what they were selling for $1/ sq ft.😮😂
What road did you travel on to ftr from cowboy trail. I would like to see that one day soon. I've never seen that part of the ftr yet. Looks beautiful.
There’s two roads in off of 22 it’s the more north one
Really like Alberta, but it has the most expensive provincial campgrounds of any province. No self registration either.b seems to be only online booking. Better to boondock. Next time your are there, try out Steffville Bridge provincial campground just down the road. $10/night
I think I passed that one and I agree about Alberta parks, all expensive and few are self registration
🇨🇦👍👍🇨🇦 Always cool
I’m surprised your not out skiing already
I am lol this video is from october
