This was my favourite episode so far, nice work guys. “The obstacle in the path becomes the path. Never forget, within every obstacle is an opportunity to improve or condition. “ Marcus Aurelius.
I watched the whole thing and almost cried. Your journey together in these jaw-dropping places is so beautiful that words cant do it justice. Your little jokes and meditations, your meals, those gorgeous drone shots--WOW! I wish I could explore our province as you do.
epic, now we know what you were doing before we saw you, exceptionally filmed and narrated, the drone shots never get old,. thank god for winches and Megs cooking!!
Wonderful, amazing! I watched this full video of your entire journey. It was very adventurous route you completed. You captured all the beautiful nature in a very perfect way and explored the rare places to visit. I liked your entire video and felt like I was exploring all that at my own. Very appreciable. 👍
Just discovered your channel. Just straight out awesome! As an off-roader with a 97 LX450 (triple-locked), I was just blown away with what you were able to accomplish with a 2-wheel drive vehicle. The heavy load will actually help with traction on hard surfaces, but still some great driving/spotting skills. You guys are living the dream. I would love to travel out west through BC, and up to the arctic. Best of luck on your journey, and know I’ll be watching the whole time.
That is one of the best travel blogs I have ever seen....I hope you consider writing a book about your journey up through B.C. in Betty the Beast and her fantastic effort as a 2 wheel drive. Things you could right about are how you got Betty ready, the clothing you used for the wet trip, food you ate, how you succumbed to the many challenges you had, places you loved, what you did not like on your journey, advice for anyone traveling up through B.C. even in areas which are not nearly so daunting, oh and include understandable maps and where the places featured are, on a larger scale B.C. map. I believe it would be a best seller Looking forward to watching the next episode. It will be difficult to improve on!
Haha, thanks so much! I think we’ll try to tackle a traveling cookbook first, then maybe move on to a travel journal but the videos are already a ton of work. We don’t have enough time in our day to make videos and write books at this time in our lives. I’m glad you think we can do it though. Thanks so much for watching, we’ll see you in the next one!🙌🏻

You should go to Fort St James, British Columbia; but go in the summer months so you can hike the mountains, boat on the lake. It was the capital of British Columbia in fur trading days when BC was known as New Caledonia!

What I did for this year traveling was the house door bug mesh screens sewed in the house screen double layered . Yes it took several days to sew, but was not bothered with mosquitos , or other bugs. Taped it to the rear window, worked very well until the one day I forgot to close the window will traveling, yes out that way. We’ve had a few ppl chime in that have worked in the areas that we now explore. It’s always cool to hear about those that forged the path. Thanks for watching, glad you enjoyed it!😊
For the "no see ums" try lighting a mosquito coil in the camper. When my wife and I made a trip to Inuvik, we met a couple from Texas who where treveling to Alaska, and asked us how were were coping with the moskitoes in the truck camper. No problem when you light up a "Pic Mosquito Coil". We gave them a small piece to try overnight (we were both camping overnight at the Wal Mart parking lot in Whitehorse, Yukon. The next morning they could not believe how well these worked. They went to the Wal Mart and bought some right away. They really work! e
I love how much of this shows the area where I grew up. Although we live in PG now and I have for longer cumutively than I have lived anywhere else, I grew up in Houston, just that 50 kms East of Smithers you were sort of talking about. This is so awesome, seeing mountain ranges that were my backyard, as I grew up exploring so much of this area. I think this is how we first found you guys, when "Telkwa Pass" showed up on my screen because of where I grew up. So awesome, thank you for highlighting the area so well, even if some of your driving efforts were a little over beyond!!

That was awesome! No Max tracks on that pass? Also doesn’t look like you are using the awning much? Really enjoyed this, congrats on punching through that pass!
We carry traction boards but they wouldn’t have really helped us much. Most of the stuff we were up against we had enough traction, but not enough torque. Our awning comes out on the beach or in the rain if we sit for a few days. We didnt sit for very long at any point this past summer. 🫤 Thanks for watching!🙌🏻

You guys are Locos Locos Locos 😂❤❤❤❤ really nice trip we are in V Island Parksville and that trip to Prince Rupert is for us a plan now that rout is incredible beautiful congrats... And you said ...what's wrong with you guys jajajajaj😅❤❤
I noticed it already when I was watching the original Alaska Hwy. to Atlin/Whitehorse episode. Your chronology is a bit off: You're going over the Teslin River bridge at Johnsons Crossing before entering Teslin on the Nisutlin Bay bridge. Coming from the Jct. 37, Johnsons Crossing is 50 km past Teslin....Just had to rub that in this time😉. But nobody noticed it anyway🙂 A beautiful compilation nonetheless 👍 Thanks for putting it together! (Telkwa Pass again ❤)
Ohhh, probably. For the most part I get everything in chronological order, but sometimes it’s a challenge when working with so many clips. Thanks for watching!🙌🏻
Fantastic job on your cinematography and drone work! I enjoyed it’s release especially on a Sunday so I could soak it all in. A trip of a lifetime, you never know when you’ll have the opportunity to return. Such a special time of sharing with old friends in Smithers BC, not a bad town to be stranded in. Breakdowns are God’s way of saying “You need to stop and smell the roses just a little.” Evidence of that is how it timed perfectly in order for your newfound friends from Switzerland to catch up to you. I’m sure they were well climatized to the elevation and enjoyed the unique vastness and unpopulated ruggedness of our Canadian version of “the Alps”. Good fellowship was shared by all. Truly a lovely film, thank-you for sharing I enjoyed it so much.😊❤🤍❤🇨🇦
😁😁Thanks Jim! I’ve been playing around on four wheels in the sticks the better part of my life, so I’ve gained a bit of experience, but it’s always nice to get a compliment from a veteran on the trails. Thanks for watching!
First time viewer of your channel. Now I am an overlander and not a vanlifer, but I gotta say that your 2-tone paint on your van is amazing! I love that classic look. You saw some amazing sites, and views on your way. I'll definitely be back to watch more of your adventures.
Hey hey, glad you found us and thanks for watching! If I had it my way the age of the van would match the retro paint.🤣 Thanks though, we dig the paint job too, gotta keep it old school somehow. See you in the next one!🙌🏻

Bugs?!? O NO! My cure for that is eating a freshly crushed piece of garlic every day. Typically it takes 3 days to become effective. 😎 I loved this rewind & longer format - insert all the wonderful things everyone else has already said here! 😂 Inquiring minds wanna know - will you please share some of the wedding pix with us? Yes I completely understand some things should be private . . . 😊 a few pix would be lovely tho!
I’ve heard of the garlic trick, I’m just not sure if we could stand each other being smellier than we already are.🤣 Glad you enjoyed the rewind, there will be more in the future. I’ll post up some wedding photos at some point. 😊 Thanks for watching!
I wonder why you are not wearing those hats with mesh netting for your face, protect from mosquitoes? And,not spraying your clothes down with mosquito spray with deet? Surely not your first rodeo with hiking in the woods? Anyways, loved the stunning scenary. Thanks for all your effort. Those are places I'll never see in my lifetime, but you made it possible! Great job! Look forward to more, new subscriber!😊
Hey Dee, thanks for watching and following along! On the hike in Smithers we had sprayed ourselves with bug spray to no avail. As for the netting, I’m not entirely sure why we didn’t go for those. Maybe it’s optimism that there won’t be as many bugs…🤷🏼♂️

🤣🤣Just another day driving through Canada.🤷🏼♂️🤣
I noticed it already when I was watching the original Alaska Hwy. to Atlin/Whitehorse episode. Your chronology is a bit off: You're going over the Teslin River bridge at Johnsons Crossing before entering Teslin on the Nisutlin Bay bridge. Coming from the Jct. 37, Johnsons Crossing is 50 km past Teslin....Just had to rub that in this time😉. But nobody noticed it anyway🙂
A beautiful compilation nonetheless 👍
Thanks for putting it together! (Telkwa Pass again ❤)
Ohhh, probably. For the most part I get everything in chronological order, but sometimes it’s a challenge when working with so many clips. Thanks for watching!🙌🏻
Yes! Its movie night 😍
Yaaas! 🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻
Yup
Mhmm. For sure.
Truly a lovely film, thank-you for sharing I enjoyed it so much.😊❤🤍❤🇨🇦
😊😊Thanks for watching Janis, so glad you’re enjoyed it. 🙌🏻
I love the north too. Such a special place. Winters are better here in southern Alberta though 😉😊
There’s that draw to the north that some people have, eh? Thanks for watching!
Unreal 🤯
😊Thanks for watching!🙌🏻
I've been off-road er for 40 years , not bad. Youngster not bad at all.good team. J
😁😁Thanks Jim! I’ve been playing around on four wheels in the sticks the better part of my life, so I’ve gained a bit of experience, but it’s always nice to get a compliment from a veteran on the trails. Thanks for watching!
You guys are funny..i like it❤❤❤❤
😁🤣🙌🏻🙌🏻thanks for watching!
What’s the difference between an overlander and a vanlifer? Almost nothing in slowroamers case.
@desolationoverland #vanderlanding 🤣
2 Weel Drive VAN
Very Ambiguous
Very nice Video
All in a days work.🤣💪🏼

You guys are amazing! love the adventure spirit, energy and cinematography. Love from Ontario, We'll be hitting the road ourselves, hope to meet you two.
Thanks so much Trisha! We’re stoked you’re enjoying the videos, happy travels!🙌🏻😁
Kudos to you two! I’d never attempt that without 4x4. Absolutely beautiful scenery out in BC! I dream of the day I can attempt Ontario to Alaska in my 4Runner. Cheers from Ottawa!
Hey Dean, thanks for watching. Glad you enjoyed it! You’re gonna love this side of Canada! Happy travels!🙌🏻
@ I lived in Banff for a year when I was 21 and been fortunate enough to travel around BC many times. I just love the west coast. You guys are spoiled when it comes to outdoor travels. Cheers
My family from our family east shares that same sentiment. 🤣
Betty , that’s the name of my 96 Grumman van .
Hello from Cowichan Bay 🏝️
Hey hey, another Islander! Thanks for watching!
First like !🎉
Whew!🤣🙌🏻
Actually you're the second😂
And then there was competition 🤣🤣
New to the channel, love it so far.
Whew! Glad you found us and stoked you’re enjoying it. 😁🙌🏻🙌🏻
Bugs?!? O NO! My cure for that is eating a freshly crushed piece of garlic every day. Typically it takes 3 days to become effective. 😎
I loved this rewind & longer format - insert all the wonderful things everyone else has already said here! 😂
Inquiring minds wanna know - will you please share some of the wedding pix with us?
Nail biting!!! ❤
😁😁I’m glad it had that effect!🤣 Thanks for watching 🙏🏼
@ oh man! Couldn’t stop watching..! 🫣
What an adventure!!
Glad to hear it, means we’re doing something right!🤣
Nice epic adventure video Alex. Just like to know the name of the pass trail you have drove? Thanks.
It’s called the the Telkwa Pass. Thanks for watching!🙌🏻
great video guy, best of luck on your adventures
Thanks for watching, we’re so glad you enjoyed it!😁🙌🏻
I have heart palpitations from you guys on this trail!
We try our best to bring the adventure to you! 🤣 Thanks for watching!
Try adding vanilla oil to your bug spray! Mosquitoes and some other bugs despise the scent. I burn vanilla incense to keep them away. ❤
We’ll definitely have to try this out. Thanks for the tip!
Great job, love this vid. I subscribed to follow your journey.
Thanks for watching and following along!😊🙌🏻
Watching this video, as im installing mybpower system, and turning on the lights in my van for the 1st time, you guys are keeping me inspired as i near the end of my year long vam build, safe travels, and good time to both of you ✌️🫡
Oh man, that’s rad! It’s such a nice place to be, the finish line just in sight. We’re stoked to lend to your pool of inspiration. Thanks for watching!🙌🏻😊
Well, my ADHD Squirrel was totally out of control so it took almost 6 hours to watch the whole video but, I gotta say, I LOVED EVERY MINUTE OF IT!
Thank you for all of your hard work and commitment to the channel and your faithful subscribers 😊
Thanks, glad you enjoyed it! It's a little hard to keep the Squirrel in its cage, but it's worth the ride! 🤣🙌🏻 Thanksnfor watching Alan!
👋 Also a proud member of taking a 2WD Chevy where it has no business going. 😂
GO TEAM CHEVY!!!
Whew!! Heck yeah!💪🏼
Are you prepared to be rescued? Or just be prepared be external as nature. I like your video. Someone has to be willing or pay the ultimate price. It only takes one rock to dent the bottom of your car or water to get in engine. What you don't know won't hurt you.
If we wind up in need of a rescue then we’ll deal with that when it comes. Thanks for watching.
