Hey Tim! I’m a 38 year old black male born and raised in the Bay Area, Oakland/ San Francisco California that’s never been camping. I don’t do outdoors, I’m a city slicker… With that being said I am living the truck life through you… This might be my favorite channel. My lady friends think I’m crazy for watching your episodes. I stumbled across an episode and been hooked ever since. It’s very entertaining, thank you for the content.

Tim, here’s the thing about idling a diesel overnight: raise your idle rate by a few hundred RPM. Not excessively high, but 750-800 RPM. Prevents wet-stacking/washing liners/cylinders. Better to spend $45 to idle than to be stuck like Chuck with a gelled-up truck. Power Service or Howe’s fuel treatment only works so far…this comes from 25 years and 2M miles+ of trucking experience, mostly transporting petroleum products…

I’ve been trucking for 35 years. Now that I have the internet on my phone I listen to music or books or podcasts. I have to say I m thoroughly entertained and now I consider myself a Road Scholar. I do go some distance every day with nothing but the whistle of the turbo and the rumble of the CAT C15 which sounds phenomenal. Lots of time to think and reflect all day every day. That sounds amazing. I love exploring and am planning to buy a camper to tow around with me this summer to go exploring with my family. When the kids are grown and moved out I want to do full time rving and see as much as possible. Your life sounds pretty awesome to me. I love watching these types of channels. You should film your adventures and share on RUclips.
I listen to RUclips video and podcasts all the time too. In fact, I hardly listen to music anymore. I find myself just driving in silence though quite a bit. It's nice sometimes. Peaceful.
I drove from 93-2003 and I’d have killed for the tech out there now. I had to settle for AM, cassettes and a 5” black and white TV that was incredibly heavy. Remember the V antenna lol??
Tim what you do takes guts, grit and confidence. Never sell yourself short brother. I know guys twice your size that would never attempt the things you do. Size has nothing to do with it. Size never hindered a wolverine! Great channel, keep doing what you're doing. Much respect.
I just wanted to take a minute to thank you for showing us all this beauty , that sunrise was absolutely beautiful and more people should know about this channel, I've told dozens of people that are into the landscape you travel
These long videos are a blessing. I put them on for my hour commute to work in the mornings. They calm my mind before a stressful 14 hour shift. Growing up, I traveled quite a bit. These videos take me back to the peaceful excitement of being on the road. Not much in life offers the same level of serenity as the long trips. Thank you, Timmy. You’re the man !
As a Mexican, I’m proud that you actually slightly toasted the tortilla over a tad of oil. I see many non-Mexicans just grab the cold tortilla and add stuff, yikes. While it was not al pastor or carne asada tacos, ground beef is cool. We call it picadillo. Your tacos looked great and yummy. If you want to take your ground beef taco to the next level, add some Mexican chorizo as well. You can also cut little potatoes cubes and sauté them on the skillet until golden brown. Mix all those three ingredients up. So next time, have tacos with ground beef, chorizo, and potatoes. Mince onions and cilantro. Touch of lime. And of course salsa. Killer stuff! Great video as always!
@@JellyBeansMystreyMachine Sour cream is used in Mexican cuisine on hard shell tacos, tostadas, flautas, sopes, stuff like that. It’s also used in burritos and enchiladas too. It’s definitely used in various Mexican foods. Mexican sour cream is thinner and has a slight lime add on as ingredient, so it’s easier to pour over your stuff. Another type of sour cream Mexicans use is called jocoque, which is influenced by the one million Lebanese who migrated and stayed in Mexico. Having said that, sour cream is usually not added on Mexican soft street tacos, they will look at you funny if you do, lol. Sour cream is usually a no-no on soft street tacos like al pastor, carne asada, carnitas, birria, cochinita pibil, suadero, lengua, lomo, chorizos, cesos, etc. The exception are Baja fish tacos, as they are battered fried fish, and locals do add sour cream or even mayo on them. Baja fish tacos are also famous for having shredded cabbage or lettuce. But there are no rules. You can add sour cream on anything, it’s your palate. I do like sour cream on hard shell tacos, tostadas, and flautas…but my preference is no sour cream on soft street tacos. Keep enjoying your tacos! 😁👍
I get goose bumps watching your videos. Alaska is heaven on earth. And that drive up to and through Atigun Pass and down the North slope was breathtaking, mesmerizing, and even spiritual. I'm in awe of your travels - and Alaska. Thank you so much for taking me and all your viewers there with you. Now, back to the video - cannot wait to see the Arctic Ocean!
Hi Tim, I am an older viewer and am amazed at your adventures, from the crazy driving experiences, the house building and side trips. It makes me so anxious watching some of them but I cant turn it off. What really stood out in this one, and made me comment, was when you were suprised those people recognised you and valued what you do. I wonder what those kids at school who bullied you are doing, I wonder if any of them are watching you now as you take so many people on your journeys. Stand tall, you are brave and amazing.
I'm a long haul truck driver and I too enjoy the quiet solitude. It gives me time to think of what I want to do in life and where I want to go camping next mainly because I live in my pick up truck on my days off. Keep on traveling Timmy, your truck is awesome brother!
Tim - if you’re ever in SoCal, feel free to camp in my driveway. This is one of my favorite channels. Even my 12 year old daughter (she’s studying different climates) and my 74 yr old mother watches it (loved the Barrow episode.) Appreciate the small details (plastic breaks at -40F, cost of food), camera footage, and for sharing your adventures to the North Slope.
@@awesomecoolguy6515 Interesting. I’m in Turtle Rock. While not exciting, it still a pretty nice place to live. I’ve lived in similar suburbs in Atlanta, Minneapolis, & the Bay Area.
I found your channel during the previous artic circle series and am blown away by it. One of my favorite things that you do is get out when the view is especially beautiful. You have such a love for life and adventure, Tim. I want to thank you wholeheartedly for sharing it with us.
Hey Tim I'm a 64 million year old Tyrannosaurus Rex that is living out of a converted Fred Flinstones vehicle and I just wanted to tell you that your videos inspire me so much. I even stopped ripping apart stupid Anatosaurus's and Triceratops for food and even taught myself how to speak English so I could use SIRI on my IPhone so I could leave this message for you because my dumb arms are too small to hold the phone and type. Thanks for being an inspiration to us all.
I live vicariously through Tim… I work a corporate job in a big city, stuck in an office all day, wishing I had the freedom (and the courage) that he has. Thank you for posting the videos.
You ruin your life by tolerating it. At the end of the day you should be excited to be alive. When you settle for anything less than what you innately desire, you destroy the possibility that lives inside of you, and in that way you cheat both yourself and the world of your potential. The next Michelangelo could be sitting behind a Macbook right now writing an invoice for paperclips, because it pays the bills, or because it is comfortable, or because he can tolerate it. Do not let this happen to you. Do not ruin your life this way. Life and work, and life and love, are not irrespective of each other. They are intrinsically linked. We have to strive to do extraordinary work, we have to strive to find extraordinary love. Only then will we tap into an extraordinarily blissful life. ~Bianca Sparacino
Timmy, I also drive with the radio off and spend time in thought. I love the sound of the engine (especially diesel motors) - like meditation music. Thanks, always for the great trips you take us all on. I feel like we are truly a part of your adventures!
Enjoy every minute of your videos! I'm a 69 yo single female with a cargo trailer conversion (my mini cabin) pulled by a Ford Expedition. Your videos remind me not to panic when I come across difficulties along the way. So far, I find that I'm quite capable, once I slow down, breathe, and really think about what to do next. Keep 'em coming, Timmy! You're the OG up north!
I am recovering from the flu and sat on the couch late evening with my two dogs and found this video (and your channel for the first time). Watched it all the way through. Thank you for taking me on such a great adventure today! You are a pretty phenomenal person!!! Liked and subscribed!
Man I'm 22 years old, I heard about your channel at my gas station from a customer who has his own self-made truck camper, and you sir are a true inspiration. I would take the freedom and the movement over an apartment aby day.
In a world of content noise of people selling themselves, you’re genuine nature and transparency shine through. Couple that with the fact that you’re doing what most people wouldn’t adds to the uniqueness of your brand. Keep it up. I’ll echo what someone else said: Market your merch. Get paid, Keep that beast running. Check out Mike Easter by the way. He wrote “the Comfort Crisis”. It fits what you do. Keep those wheels turning Timmy. And you’re aren’t tiny. You’re a giant!
I was a long distance mover in Canada's west for many years. I have spent endless hours behind the wheel watching the big empty of the Canadian western provinces pass by NY windshield. I always felt the joy you describe feeling on your long trips. The night before I left for a run always kept me sleepless in anticipation if the journey ahead if me. I really relate to your descriptions of the feelings your journies brought out in you. Safe hourneys brother. 4:45

I agree this is Tim's calling. He's a great narrator and capable traveller. There are a lot of people who can't adventure travel but I think this helps satisfy that need.
Words can't express how these videos make me feel. It's like a different planet out there and yet it's not, which makes me astounded what an amazing place we live! Such beauty and such hardship... My thoughts go to the people who live out there (original and present), and the animals; how they survive is a mystery to me. Thank you Timmy for living your calling, it's something special and I wish you good fortunes!
First time subscriber. If i were up there, these views would bring tears to my eyes. I don't think I've ever seen anything so beautiful. Wow. Thank you for the views. I can view this while sitting in the comfort of my 70 degree heated home.
im 22, born and raised in upstate new york. Obviously very familiar with snow but it is so hard for my brain to comprehend that landscape. it really is other worldly. what an amazing planet we live on💙
Tummy, I absolutely love watching your videos and I have never commented until now. You talked about how much you love long road trips and how much time you spend thinking while driving. Bingo!!! I’m a 60 year old guy and my wife died 3 years ago (that’s life). Three months after she died I embarked on a 37 day road trip from Kansas City to the east coast, then south to Key West and eventually made it back home. It was such a therapeutic journey of learning my new life and thinking. Lots of thinking and driving alone for 37 days and 5900 miles was the perfect time and place to think. I usually listen to mellow reggae music when I drive and think. Ps…. Camped in my tent 27 nights in several cool places along the way. PSs….if I were ever young again, I would want to live my life just like you! Rock on young man!!
16:30 I’m with you brother. I also like to just listen to the diesel engine, the sound of the snow under tire, the wind and my thoughts on a long road trip. It’s like therapy. Watching these videos in the morning with that Alaskan lighting is a pretty relaxing way to start the day too btw…
Same here, it has happened to me a couple of times, and even with a spare key I couldn't get in because there's a safety thing to prevent theft or something...LOL
@@alariaesculenta8177my moms car did that once. and i was fucking memeing in a fur coat 😂😂 she tried to use the regular key and the alarm went off all the way home until i disconnected the battery
I’m also a 70 year old guy watching your adventures, I still whitewater raft and surf. I’m surprised your drone doesn’t freeze in those temps, awesome footage with the “bird”. I got out of college in the mid 70’s and there weren’t many jobs around , there were recruiters down here in the lower 48 hiring guys to work on that pipeline. , cool to see the finished product. Thanks as always 🎅
Another great thing to wake up to is the flat spots in your tires, not out of air tires. When it gets really cold like below -40 your tires can freeze and you have a flat spot on them for the first few miles. Lived up near Fairbanks for a couple years, loved it!
The raptor attacking your drone was incredible. Also loved the musk oxen and that Arctic fox. The mountains were so beautiful. But that relentless cold 🥶🥶🥶
Have you ever thought about getting a small APU to generate power at night? You could hook up engine block heaters to keep the engine from freezing, and probably use less fuel.
I always leave my radio off on drives home from adventures. I let my family sleep and enjoy the silence. I get literally the clearest l, most constructive thinking done. It’s my happy place. Nothing better then a quiet peaceful drive through gods country! The sound of a turbo diesel is just the icing on the cake!
-First: You're Awesome -Second: Everyone (including RUclips) is starting to realize that too -Third: You'll have to contemplate buying a new truck -Fourth: Change is hard, but a brand new truck house on a brand new Ford would be pretty cool too -Best of luck and if the truck house ever makes it to DownEast, Maine you have a place to park..and golf!
Hi Tim! I found that driving with the music off during long drives helps me focus. Oftentimes I would get what I’m pretty sure is highway hypnosis, and kind of zone out or start to nod off. Shutting the music off helps be more aware of my surroundings and that way I can also listen for any issues going on with my vehicle, especially in bad weather conditions.
That bird you saw attempting to "eat" your drone was indeed a Peregrine Falcon. For a minute there It looked like a Kestrel but after slowing the video down, It is a Peregrine Falcon
Thanks for this video. I ran into you at the Speedway near Alyeska during the March snow storm last year. I’m heading to Wiseman for the 3rd time the end of March. This video is a great depiction of the area I can share with my travel companions.
Get a generator keep it warm in back and 45 minutes before you want to leave take it out a plug your truck in. 0:03 Leaving your truck running all night is not hard on the motor. If a hose came loose you would never know .
Dude, they should pay you millions for your cinematography alone! Absolutely stunning scenery and I live in Montana Also, finally someone else who uses paprika in their taco meat! I also use chili powder and cumin. Delicious!
His is great but watch Chad on Living The Van Loge, his is yhe best I have ever seen. His drone footage is always stunning. Also check out Dustin from Destination Adventure, he also gets some great footage. Enjoy.

I have to say Tim it takes a real man to not only persevere in extreme cold conditions, but you embrace it even throughout all the complications it causes. God bless bro.
Your drone footage in the Atigan Pass in this episode was simply beautiful. And kudos to Forest Wilson for the musical accompaniment to it. Great stuff.
Id love to build something like this and live this life but i feel like unless youre making money from youtube or have a job you can work remotely then theres no way you can do it. Fuel, food, maintenance, etc woukd just drain you so fast.
You have captured the most beautiful scenic photos of winter in Alaska. Your drone footage has been phenomenal (with the predator bird), other winter wildlife, all of it. Gorgeous! Keep on truckin and stay safe!
Thank you for the video! I completely agree with the points made about the increasing prevalence of anger in the US. Despite its problems, growing up in the US, I didn't perceive as much anger as I do today, I earn over $370000 in investment.
A growth mindset towards wealth can help you make smarter decisions and spot opportunities that others might miss. Reaching a $50K milestone is about consistency, smart financial habits, and a bit of patience.
Thanks Tim for sharing your travels through beautiful Alaska. This video was exceptionally beautiful with all the fresh powder and clear blue skies. Wow, stay safe! Yes, when I drive long trips I seldom play music. ❤

Timmy I just got to tell you I think you are one of the coolest, calmest dudes on the planet right now. I admire you and how you live your life. Best wishes and safe travels always! 👏👏👏
There's a 38 gallon rear fuel tank for a bronco of similar year that will bolt right in to your truck. I did the conversion and now get 54 gallons on a fill up. You will have to extend the fuel pickup and return in the tank which is not too hard. Well worth it!

Awesome video as always Timmy. This has been a epic adventure to the Arctic ocean all the amazing wildlife it's like I'm watching a episode of national geographic but way more epicness. Thanks for letting us ride along with you on your adventures.

A Roads scholar.
Tim what you do takes guts, grit and confidence. Never sell yourself short brother. I know guys twice your size that would never attempt the things you do. Size has nothing to do with it. Size never hindered a wolverine! Great channel, keep doing what you're doing. Much respect.
2nd that. Plus I think you said you’re about 6 feet tall. Much taller than me. I never let it stop me either! Keep on brother!
Yea idk what size of the guy driving a truck trying to figure out gas mileage has to do with anything
Mmm grits😋
Is sour cream a Mexican thing or a bastardization of the Americans making it? Either way I gotta have sour cream with my tacos. Lol
Tastes good either way.
Sour cream is disgusting. It should be banned from ever existing.
@@eyesears113lengua 😝 🤮. I can't do it. Can't bring myself to try tongue.
I’m fascinated by your drone shots of the truck moving up the highway. They’re beautiful!!
@oiboi4614 Dude I've thought about it, and I think I will this year. Thank you bro
Just curious what city you are in?
@@iansteward4708 Irvine. Why?
@@mikez4073Irvine sucks. I used to live in Turtle Rock.

Thank you for keeping your screen crystal clear, without logos interrupting the landscape view. It was an amazing trip as always.
That hawk coming after the drone may be one of the coolest things caught on tape
It was fricken awesome!
Yeah, that looked like a hawk to me ⛄
Definitely. There are a few videos on here like that.
Mid to late 90s F350 with 7.3 diesel is one of the all time great trucks.

You can do it part time. Just start with what you have. It's definitely doable.
Get out! You're wasting your precious life.

Timmy,
I also drive with the radio off and spend time in thought.
I can 💯% guarantee that I will never be on this stretch of road in my lifetime so thank you for letting those of us that know this experience it through your life!
Always been fascinated with Alaska at 65. My Dad thought about working on the pipeline in the 70s. Thanks for armchair adventure!!
I just can't get enough of your videos..Not only are they good for your soul, It gives me perspective in a hustle and bustle life.
I'm a solitary person by nature..I enjoy spending 60% of my time alone.
I never get bored, And find I am quite good at entertaining myself..❤
Keep up your soul supporting video. They are a treasure.
Who's "Tummy"...? 😂 🤣
I turned the radio off 3 years ago in the suv. I am glad I did. I appreciate your content. Safe travels, from millet Alberta 🇨🇦
Stay warm… next week the weather is going to be nice plus 5 😅 from Edmonton
16:30 I’m with you brother. I also like to just listen to the diesel engine, the sound of the snow under tire, the wind and my thoughts on a long road trip. It’s like therapy. Watching these videos in the morning with that Alaskan lighting is a pretty relaxing way to start the day too btw…
Dang Timmy, you are a wild man! Every time you get out of the truck, I think "I hope he has a spare key in case the door accidentally gets locked!"
Me too!!
my truck automatic sometimes lock me out if i close my doors , specially when im driving

My father and Aunt worked on the pipeline too.
I’m terrified now, I’m 63 and really appreciate your bravery from NovaScotia 🇨🇦
I always leave my radio off on drives home from adventures. I let my family sleep and enjoy the silence. I get literally the clearest l, most constructive thinking done. It’s my happy place. Nothing better then a quiet peaceful drive through gods country! The sound of a turbo diesel is just the icing on the cake!
-First: You're Awesome
-Second: Everyone (including RUclips) is starting to realize that too
-Third: You'll have to contemplate buying a new truck
-Fourth: Change is hard, but a brand new truck house on a brand new Ford would be pretty cool too
-Best of luck and if the truck house ever makes it to DownEast, Maine you have a place to park..and golf!
Im watching from my couch and literally was not wanting to go outside cause of how cold i felt watching this!
Absolutely stunning scenery and I live in Montana
Also, finally someone else who uses paprika in their taco meat! I also use chili powder and cumin. Delicious!
His is great but watch Chad on Living The Van Loge, his is yhe best I have ever seen. His drone footage is always stunning. Also check out Dustin from Destination Adventure, he also gets some great footage. Enjoy.
I am a 39 year old left handed person with a A- blood type and a history of shin splints and overcame dyslexia as a kid and also I wear a size 12 on my left foot and a 11 1/2 on my right. With that said, great content!!!!

I have to say Tim it takes a real man to not only persevere in extreme cold conditions, but you embrace it even throughout all the complications it causes. God bless bro.
Almost seems like you’re traversing an alien landscape. Like some mining outpost with trucks carrying resources back and fourth.
Beautiful views! What a world God has made! Thank you for taking us along!
It makes no sense to me why gas is so damn expensive in Alaska - they have what, three refineries there?
You have captured the most beautiful scenic photos of winter in Alaska. Your drone footage has been phenomenal (with the predator bird), other winter wildlife, all of it. Gorgeous! Keep on truckin and stay safe!
If you think just paprika is the best way for taco meat, then cumin and garlic are going to blow your gringo mind

There's a 38 gallon rear fuel tank for a bronco of similar year that will bolt right in to your truck. I did the conversion and now get 54 gallons on a fill up. You will have to extend the fuel pickup and return in the tank which is not too hard. Well worth it!
