What a beautiful area you’re camping in! Loved the walk to the lake. But, when you mentioned the large number of turtles in British Columbia’s lakes, my brain came to a screeching halt. To the google machine I go. The answer as to why so many turtles blew my mind! Supposedly it’s because so many BC pet turtle owners have released their pets into the wild when they get too large! The primary invasive species is the Red-Eared Slider, which has established large populations in BC’s wetlands and lakes to the point that they are threatening the population of the native Western Painted Turtle. FASCINATING! Really! Now back to your video!

A Kevin video, yeehaw!! I spent almost every weekend a few years back at Wasa and Radium. Our family had property on Wasa lake. Biggest concentration of grizzlies in the country. I think you were just above Wasa lake at Lazy lake. That area in the summer is a world of heaven. It's so beautiful you never want to leave. Grizzlies wake up for snacks in the middle of winter so just look out.
Born and raised for 25 years in Invermere , best place to grow up. Used to brush clear Panorama before the snow fell for free skiing. It started with a rope tow , then a poma lift back in the 1960's.
I'm back... Video came back up in my feed.... Food for thought.... Have a nice hot fire outside, and heat some water. A sponge (what we call a spit bath) bath is better than nothing at all. Wash hair first as you work downward. Just to get a little soap and water on the body will make you feel better.

Although all my favourite hobbies are to be done in the nicer weather, i have to agree with you, if its going to be winter, at least have snow... here in Southern Ontario our winters have been hit and miss, we seem to get snow storms and then a week or 2 later it melts and is gone...

Beautiful views while you were snowboarding. Great video with plenty of variety! Master chef! Kevin's advice for building flavour,... os follow your heart. I live in an isolated community and keep dehydrated onions, garlic and celery seeds for flavour building. You could also add frozen veggies during the last hour of cooking. Try pulled pork in the slow cooker. Toolicious! My son loves it with Honey Jack Daniel's BBQ sauce, added during the last hour.

Always use broths instead of plain water when you can, much more flavorful. For roasts, noodles, dumplings etc. Good choice Kevin. You can make gravy with the beef broth it makes. 👍🏻🎄❤️🎉🎊

I don’t think so, very rare. As someone who owned a home before I don’t know why most of these businesses here don’t just have frost plug faucets, I used my outside tap in -30 to fill the camper at my old house back in the day
one time I was skating on a lake and I fell through a shallow part, i looked down and there was a turtle popping its head up at me! I was shocked to see the least

Great video Kevin. Good to see you wearing a helmet. I live in Utah, greatest snow on earth. We were host of the US Olympics 2002 and future host of the Olympics 2034. So many people here do not wear helmets when snowboarding. They’re literally flying down a mountain going 45 miles an hour and I just don’t understand it.

Great video! I much prefer camping out over hotels too. Might have to try some winter camping this year. If you come across any Princess Auto stores in your travels, they should have selfie sticks too, that's where I get mine. In the, what I call "the fun part" of the store, lol.
Tried a through hiker shower? Use dry shampoo and body shower wipes when in a pinch. Can alternate with real showers in a camper to really extend the tank.

Panorama is amazing hill!
They have western painted turtles in some rivers in western Canada.
Specifically the Milk river drainage basin, upper old man river and cypress Hills.
We have them out here in the Shuswap. I didn't know this till recently, but painted turtles can be found in places like Revelstoke too.

from Cranbrook to radium temps were around -2c to -12. really not bad but it can get waaaaay colder there lol
