Hola. Love love love your videos! So I’m new to the game and considering buying the Canon R50. I take your opinions and recommendations to heart. I want to start doing a bilingual music & educational program for kids and other content as well. Thanks for your videos! Peace!

Since the r50 shoots 10 bit you could apply a colour space transform to C-log or whatever log you want in resolve and grade happily there. it'll handle well
When I slapped 18-35F1.8 on my shitty 2012 eos m, the pic coming out of it is like night and day compared to even 22F2 or 50F1.8stm. Greatest lenses you can buy for your little apsc sensor camera. Can’t wait to buy an R50.
Not sure as I have never done it. I know Canon has a version of the EOS R which was designed specifically for astro photography. Might be worth a look.
I think it will make a great beginner camera for birding. Once you start dealing with fast moving wing flaps etc and start getting rolling shutter issues you can upgrade camera bodies. If you aren't going after any fast moving situations then you may not even need to ever upgrade.
It will be great for close up & detail shots as it will be equal to an 80mm lens. For more practical uses I would recommend the 35mm f1.8 or the 16mm f2.8 - both from Canon
Fantastic video, love the lighting and presentation! Subbed :) Is the R50 good for beginner real estate? If so, which lens would you suggest I buy for wide angle? Thanks!
@@FulaanCreative thank you my friend! I think the EF10-18mm might be the way forward after researching the RF16 (what would that actually be, not 16mm being cropped sensor)
Thank you for the video, I found it very usefull. I love macro photography of insects and I was trying to understand if I can get a good set up with this camera to achieve some extreme macro photography. Do you have any suggestion? Maybe with the use of tubes or the adapter you are talking in the video? Greetings
What a good video, i actually bought the R50 based partially on this. I was a canon DSLR user and have a variety of lenses. I appreciate the Meike drop in adapter but have read on a few forums that it has an issue with Flare.Have you seen this with yours ??
Thank you for this info. I’ve been looking into this camera for a while but every review video shows awful shots and demo videos from this camera, making it look like a phone camera. This video made me change my opinion on this camera.
Honestly it really depends on the lens you use & the lighting etc. In the right hands no phone camera can come close to what you'll get out of an aps-c sensor camera.
I do some catering as well as some food and travel vlogging. What would the best camera to use that's not overly expensive. The only pictures I've been taking is with my phone.
Amazing!! Thank you so much for the review. What do you think of Nikon ZFC. Im just a newbie 😭 thinking to buy canon R50 or nikon zfc. just for travel and shoot some nice views and city.
Got an R7 and went with the Meike drop-in adapter and a set of EF(-S) lenses (18-135, 10-18, Sigma 18-35) instead of RF. The kit lens for the R7 is great, but I don't wanna buy filters for every lense. The Meike adapter solves this perfectly, so long as I go full EF.
Love your content 💯👌 Could you recommend a beginners camera and kit for aviation photography? This would entail moving aircraft and static aircraft, too. Thank you, and keep up the smashing work 💯💪
Thanks! I appreciate that. It all depends on your budget. I think the newer Sony cameras are great for the type of work you are trying to do because the AutoFocus is very fast and accurate. They also have an AF mode that detects planes. I think the R50 also has an airplane AF mode so it might also be worth a shot.
@@ridgelinehunting Gotchya. The R50 isn't weather sealed so I'd stay out of the rain with it. For weather sealing You would need to go for the Canon R7 or R8. If you can get a good deal on an EOS R or RP those are weather sealed but the video features aren't as up to date as Canons newer cameras. Keep in mind the lens also needs weather sealing so yeah.
Damn. I wish I found this channel sooner. I really need a budget mirrorless camera for vlogging with good continuous autofocus without having to half press the shutter button. Do you think this is my best option?
Brother thank you so much for your content. I was debating the lumix s5II or the R50. I pulled the trigger on the R50 because it will allow me to get more lenses and the biggest are I want to get into is sports photography. Keep up the great videos.
Why does everyone gripe about the "lack" of RFS lenses?? Canon has released some great RF primes that are affordable and would work great with these crop sensor R cameras! The new 35mm f/1.8 or RF nifty fifty are perfect for APSC.
There are some decent lenses but some gaping holes in the lineup. Crop cameras have to have an ultrawide in there. Something equivalent to the ef-s 10-18. They would need to make a 10-18 with a fast aperture. f1.8 or so. There are some other missing pieces but that is the main one for me.
It can do it but with some limitations. It's not meant for pro use. Not that the results are not pro but that you can't run it all day everyday in a pro work environment. It isn't built for that.
So, I have a question... I love pretty bright videos and photos, I used a Nikon dd3300 with 50mm 1.8 lens before upgrading to canon r50, now I few like the clarity is missing, canon 50mm 1.8 looks darker then Nikon 50 1.8.... so my question is, for brighter and smoother images (baking tutorials my case) using R50 with mist filter and a EFS lens? thank you!!!
That sounds more of a situation that can be dealt with via picture profiles and or color grading. Try changing the picture profile and if that doesn't work try getting the look you want by color grading in post.
First of all I love your format and production. So thanks! 🤘🏼 I do have a question for you if you could answer please. I am considering this camera for my live stream but I am not sure if it is great for live streaming vs the Sony ZV-E10. Any thoughts?
Amazing video! What if I can't find the adapter, can I just by a regular adapter and use a ND filter on top of the lens? Sorry if my question's dumb, I just kicked off in this camera world a few days ago.
I’m a newbie to the R50 camera world. Thanks for sharing your knowledge especially about the lens. I’m interested in taking photos of my grandsons baseball games. If I get the Canon55-250 mm lens what adapter do I need to get? Will I need anything else? Thanks!!!
Hello been really stress about what camera to buy I currently own a Sony zv-1 but want to upgrade to either a Sony e10 or canon m50 mark 2. I do a lot of vlogging with a tripod and I want to take great photos as well for my social. Hate the jump videos I get with my Sony zv1 need better stabilization without using a big gimbal? Can you suggest anything please😢
@FulaanCreative thanks for the reply. Last question, I can get the r50 with 18-45mm kit lens for a price almost the same as a body only r10, which would you recommend?
@@ImxConnorOwenthe r10 can shoot 4k at 50 or even 60 fps, but it’s cropped. The continuous autofocus for video is much slower. The screen resolution is lower. It can shoot many more photos continuously before it has to pause for a few seconds. 50 min of continuous 4k30 vs about 40 around 21C. It has a higher continuous photo speed 15/23 fps vs 12/15. Requires canon webcam utility (which I hate) to be used as a webcam. Older processor, so even though the battery is larger, it has a shorter battery life. Less autofocus zones. No automatic focus switching between object in hand and face (useful for product reviews). Supports uhs-ii SD cards (r50 only supports uhs-i). I hope this helps.
@@marcelostormrage I'm not sure if this is the issue but it might help - If it's the older manual focus/manual aperture type of lens, you have to set "allow shutter to fire without lens on camera" in the menu to use them. The reason is because the lens has no electronic communication with the camera,so the camera doesn't "know" a lens is installed, By default, the camera is designed to not allow the shutter to be fired without a lens, so this override is needed. Setting it to allow the shutter to work doesn't change anything when using the camera with more modern lenses that have the electronic communication (both lenses in EF-M mount and adapted EF-mount lenses). Incidentally, there are also modern lenses that are manual focus/manual aperture, that require this menu setting to allow camera to "shoot without lens". Finally, when using any lens without electronic aperture control, you will have limited use of the exposure modes. "M" or fully manual mode will work, of course. "M + Auto ISO" also should work. "Av" or aperture priority mode also should work. Experiment with them on your camera to see if they work okay. But, "P" (program) and "Tv" (shutter priority) will not. Both of those require the camera have means of setting the lens aperture, which it doesn't with this type of lens. The "scene modes" such as "sports", "landscape", "portrait", etc. will probably also not work. (I honestly don't know because I never use them).
Great video 👍🏻. Have a question? Between the canon m50 the R50 and the lumix G7 , which one would you recommend for photos ? Thanks for your help in advance 🙏
Love your videos. How is the R50 for real estate videography? Was looking at the R8, but R50 would save me a ton, especially with just starting out. Thank you
Thanks! Honestly for professional real estate videography the R8 is much better and worth the investment. The reason is mainly due to it's ability to shoot in 4k 60 fps without a crop. This is essential in real estate videography. Also the wider field of view will be crucial for filming rooms and other tight spaces. If you pair the R8 with the affordable Canon 16mm f2.8 RF lens you will have a nice real estate setup.
@FulaanCreative amazing, thank you so much. My husband and I will each be purchasing. Would you think we could get away with the R8 for video, and R50 for photos? Or R8 would be crucial for both? Thanks again for your help
@@michelleturcotte6610 the R50 is a very capable camera for the price. The only downside for real estate photography would be the difficulty in getting wide shots when inside a room. You would have to get a very wide lens like a 10mm which is possible but lenses that wide are harder to find for aps-c cameras such as the r50 whereas the full frame equivalent would be a 16mm which there are plenty of. Other than that the R50 would be fine for real estate photography. I have a video about full frame cameras vs crop (aps-c) cameras which may help you understand the differences better. Here is the link ruclips.net/video/0zTfbk7C_C8/видео.html
Hi! I am new to the camera market. Can you please suggest me a good mirrorless camera for photography? I am thinking to go with canon R50. What's your recommendation? Please reply!
Great video been doing research on a new camera a few years ago I used to have a a7ii but sold it looking into getting a new camera for wild life and long exposure shots, in between the Fuji film xs10 and canon r50, what do you think? And I heard canon is allowing third party lenses now.
In this case it's really about which ecosystem / lens line-up you wan to get into as both cameras are good entry level options. I heard Canon is allowing Sigma to make lenses but not sure if it's allowing all 3rd party companies or not. They shot themselves in the foot with that one.
I am beginner and I would like to start doing outdoor lifestyle photography in the future. Is this a good camera to start and eventually do outdoor lifestyle photography? If not, what other camera do you recommend and what lens would be best for that type of photography?
The R50 is better. oversampled 6k. The rp is 4k but has a 1.6xcrop as well as no DP auto focus and 30 minute record linit compared to the 1 hr limit on the r50. It's also lineskipped 4k I believe. Imo the r50 is better for video even though you lose a little dynamic range.
HI, so you think is better if I buy the Canon EOS M50 mark ii or the Canon EOS R50? I'm a newbie.. I need the best choice with this budget to do photos at my family..
Great video.. I have a question, I have a Canon 80D that I bought for video about 6-7 years ago, I still use the kit lens that I came with. It does not have 4K. When doing video indoors with the loss of daylight it is quite of noise/distortion in the video even thought there is not really a low light situation in the room I am making the video. Is there a lens you would recommend for my 80D that will make much better video in low light indoors or should I just go ahead and buy a new camera ? What's your opinion ? Thank you very much.. :D
@@FulaanCreative Do you have any ideas what camera I should get with great low light capabilities and 4k ? we are talking low budget now, maybe up to 1000 Euros or 1000 US dollars. Thanks

hi. thanks for the explanation i am willing to buy R50. for more likely portraits photography. but i want to ask you. can i use third party flash or tiger directly to the camera or do i need a shoe adapter?
The RF 50mm is nice and cheap. I would choose that over the older EF version as they are the same price. The only advantage the older one will give you is the ability to use it with the built in ND adapter.
Most would probably say the fx30. Personally I'd go with the R8. There is a battery grip you can buy for $60 that was designed for the RP. It works for the R8 and lets you use 2 batteries at once effectively doubling the lousy battery life.
Would you recommend the r50 or the r10? How’s the r50 with the ‘missing’ knobs and buttons? I shoot mostly in manual mode, with manual focus. Does the r50 has the manual focus beep? I’m about to buy one of the two but I can’t choose haha
The r10 feels better in the hand and is better at photography so it's worth the little extra cash in my opinion. I never used Manual Focus Beep so I'm not sure about that one.
Some of them are a little on the larger side. Alternatively the DJI osmo pocket three hardy weighs anything and may make a good choice if size and weight are your main priority.

Since the r50 shoots 10 bit you could apply a colour space transform to C-log or whatever log you want in resolve and grade happily there. it'll handle well
I'm not the biggest fan of hdr-pq but you are right you could make it work if you wanted to.
Is there a way to get a C-log in r50? Is color space an alternative for C-log?
Superb analysis dear
Thanks!
Thank you so much, you've saved me so much time and money with these tips.
Glad I could help!
Hi there , this thing I wish you addressed is the new hot shoe. Since all canon flashes are not usable , what can be done? Thank you .
Unfortunately I can't say as I've never used any on camera flash.
Yes , you like videos ... cool.
When I slapped 18-35F1.8 on my shitty 2012 eos m, the pic coming out of it is like night and day compared to even 22F2 or 50F1.8stm. Greatest lenses you can buy for your little apsc sensor camera. Can’t wait to buy an R50.
I also used the 18-35 on the EOS M once and your right, I couldn't believe the images I was getting were coming out of a $200 camera.
Once again LOVE IT
Thanks!
Can I know which is better for wild life photography with the rf 100-400mm lens??? R10 or R50? I am planning to buy this week
R10
What would you recommend for astrophotography?
Not sure as I have never done it. I know Canon has a version of the EOS R which was designed specifically for astro photography. Might be worth a look.
Thoughts on this camera for beginner bird photography?
I think it will make a great beginner camera for birding. Once you start dealing with fast moving wing flaps etc and start getting rolling shutter issues you can upgrade camera bodies. If you aren't going after any fast moving situations then you may not even need to ever upgrade.
Bro you the Goat for this vid
Thanks for watching and commenting.
Man loving your channel. I am looking for my first camera for photos and videos of my sons baseball capturing. Great job my man!!!
Thanks!
What you think about rf50mm f1.8 lens for beginner
It will be great for close up & detail shots as it will be equal to an 80mm lens. For more practical uses I would recommend the 35mm f1.8 or the 16mm f2.8 - both from Canon
I’m sold on the R50 thanks to you, you got yourself a new subscriber
Awesome! Thank you!
Fantastic video, love the lighting and presentation! Subbed :) Is the R50 good for beginner real estate? If so, which lens would you suggest I buy for wide angle? Thanks!
Thanks! The new Canon 16mm pancake RF lens is good. If you need wider than I would get an adapter and use the EF-S 10-18 mm
@@FulaanCreative thank you my friend! I think the EF10-18mm might be the way forward after researching the RF16 (what would that actually be, not 16mm being cropped sensor)
@@wolfiemedia Yes excactly, it would be a 24mm which may or may not be wide enough for your needs
Which camera would you recommend for music videos? Sony ZV E10 or Canon R 50?
Thank you for the video, I found it very usefull. I love macro photography of insects and I was trying to understand if I can get a good set up with this camera to achieve some extreme macro photography. Do you have any suggestion? Maybe with the use of tubes or the adapter you are talking in the video?
Greetings
Honestly I wouldn't know as I have never done macro. I would imagine just a decent macro lens would do
What a good video, i actually bought the R50 based partially on this. I was a canon DSLR user and have a variety of lenses. I appreciate the Meike drop in adapter but have read on a few forums that it has an issue with Flare.Have you seen this with yours ??
Personally I never seen it but I imagine it's possible
As always your videos are fire.
Appreciate that
Thank you for this info.
Can you please provide comparison of canon R50 vs Sony a6100
First time watching, love your video style thank you for the informational no bs video!
I appreciate that!
Thank you so much for making this vid. Was just about to buy it after watching your prior vid earlier this morning XD.
You are very welcome. Thanks for watching and commenting.
Great video. You answered all the questions I had.
Glad it was helpful.
I do some catering as well as some food and travel vlogging. What would the best camera to use that's not overly expensive. The only pictures I've been taking is with my phone.
The R50 would fit the bill quite nicely
What is the best affordable camera for tiktok instagram?
The sigma 18-35 is it good for street and car photography?
Yes, I like it for both those things
Amazing!! Thank you so much for the review. What do you think of Nikon ZFC. Im just a newbie 😭 thinking to buy canon R50 or nikon zfc. just for travel and shoot some nice views and city.
Thanks! Honestly I don't know much about the Nikon ZFC
Nice! That Meike adapter is agame changer for real.
Love your content 💯👌
Could you recommend a beginners camera and kit for aviation photography?
This would entail moving aircraft and static aircraft, too. Thank you, and keep up the smashing work 💯💪
Thanks! I appreciate that. It all depends on your budget. I think the newer Sony cameras are great for the type of work you are trying to do because the AutoFocus is very fast and accurate. They also have an AF mode that detects planes. I think the R50 also has an airplane AF mode so it might also be worth a shot.
@@FulaanCreative Hey 👋 thanks so much for your time and suggestions. 💯🙌
So if I get the multi hotshoe adapter can I use godox strobe lights now
How does it work in weather?
What kind of weather?
Rain
I shoot hunting video in Washington state and I’m looking for a camera that can take the weather here and that won’t break the bank.
Thank you for the break down. Any Sony camera’s you recommend?
Damn. I wish I found this channel sooner. I really need a budget mirrorless camera for vlogging with good continuous autofocus without having to half press the shutter button. Do you think this is my best option?
It's a great option. The DJI Osmo Pocket 3 is also great for vlogging.

Hello sir which camera is best canon r50 or sony a6600 please reply sir
I have to choose one between these two please reply
r50 in my opinion
just bought one, thanks for your share. What kind of filter will be better? Kase or Nisi?
Nice. I know Nisi filters are very high quality but I have never used Kase filters so I can't say.
Hi there! I am considering buying the camera for wedding videography. What lense would you recommend?
The Sigma 18-35 with the Meike EFT-R ND Adapter. That would be a very versatile setup.
How does the Lut work? Is it an app that connects to the camera?
You add it in when editing. IT's used with editing programs such as Davinci Resolve, Final Cut, Cap Cut etc...
@@FulaanCreative I have cap cut. So I can download it and the program will go into CapCut?
I doubt you’ll end up seeing this, but is there a camera like the r50 you you would recommend instead of it around the same price range?
Sony ZVE10
Would this camera be good for weddings? If so, which lenses do you recommend?
Brother thank you so much for your content. I was debating the lumix s5II or the R50. I pulled the trigger on the R50 because it will allow me to get more lenses and the biggest are I want to get into is sports photography. Keep up the great videos.
Thanks! Glad I could help.
Very informative thank you very much, but i wanted to ask about EF 75 - 300, i find it less pricey than the 55 - 250 one , but am new to cameras so...
IT should be great for long range stuff like birding and wildlife etc
@@FulaanCreative ah, thank you very much 🙏
Gold, right here!
Thanks! I Appreciate it.
Hi, should I buy the r50 body only or with its rfs 18-45 mm kit ?
The kit lens is so cheap that it's worth having even if you will get another lens right away.
Thanks man !!
Would this be better than Nikon Z30 for recording purposes?
I think so but I'm biased towards Canon : )
@@FulaanCreative I feel you man, appreciate your honesty :)
Hi. May i ask? Can r50 do double exposure?
Why does everyone gripe about the "lack" of RFS lenses?? Canon has released some great RF primes that are affordable and would work great with these crop sensor R cameras! The new 35mm f/1.8 or RF nifty fifty are perfect for APSC.
There are some decent lenses but some gaping holes in the lineup. Crop cameras have to have an ultrawide in there. Something equivalent to the ef-s 10-18. They would need to make a 10-18 with a fast aperture. f1.8 or so. There are some other missing pieces but that is the main one for me.
What was the adapter you spoke of with the black mist filter? BTW, great blogs!
Thanks! It was the Meike ND Adapter.
Hey! Your link for
(Meike EFT-R Drop-in ND Adapter) links to a M4/3 adapter on Amazon UK
Thanks for letting me know. Unfortunately it will point to a different item if the intended one is out of stock.
Very good video! Would you recommend getting this camera for shooting events like weddings? :)
@@FulaanCreative thank you so much for the prompt reply!!
sorry, Im pretty new to this world, but what you mean by picture profile?
@@FulaanCreative Also I was googling if there is much difference in light for Nikon AFS to canon RF 50mm 1.8, does it? thank you!!
SORRY!! Just found it!! Great!! I have a recipe shooting this afternoon, I'll try it! I use natural lights only! Thank you!
First of all I love your format and production. So thanks! 🤘🏼
I do have a question for you if you could answer please.
I am considering this camera for my live stream but I am not sure if it is great for live streaming vs the Sony ZV-E10.
Any thoughts?
Both can livestream very well. Sony has more lens choices. Canon is a bit easier to use.
Can you link the Micah adapter that you talked about in your video? Thank you so much!!
I can't leave the link here in the comments but if you go to the video description it's there as "Meike drop in ND adapter"
Amazing video! What if I can't find the adapter, can I just by a regular adapter and use a ND filter on top of the lens? Sorry if my question's dumb, I just kicked off in this camera world a few days ago.
Yes a normal adapter will work just fine.
I’m a newbie to the R50 camera world. Thanks for sharing your knowledge especially about the lens. I’m interested in taking photos of my grandsons baseball games. If I get the Canon55-250 mm lens what adapter do I need to get? Will I need anything else? Thanks!!!
I would suggest the Meike ND adapter. It's called the Meike EFT-R
@@FulaanCreative thank you!

Glad to hear that!
I’m about to buy a camera as a beginner kinda looking for something that can go up to the more upper beginner skills… should I get Canon 250d or R50?
The R50 is much better. the 250d is a bit dated.
Would you recommend just buying body only then with the kit lenses not being up to scratch compared to others available?
The kit lens is so cheap when purchased with the camera, it's hard to pass up. Might come in handy as a back up lens.
Good vídeo, can You tell me where I can set the R50 to shoot with a helios 44, idk where is that setting
It's not a setting. You would just need an adapter and a specially fitted Helios lens. You can find them on Amazon.
@@FulaanCreative I got the m42 to EF and I put it in My Eos R with the EF to R mount adapter, but I does not work in R50
@@FulaanCreative thanks for this usefull I really thank you. Sorry for keep asking, where can I find "allow shutter to fire without lens.." setting?

I like your video, but What do you think about using the Canon R50 with the Meike adapter and a Sigma Art 24-70 2.8 EF mount?

@@FulaanCreative thanks man!
Yes R50 is great.
@@FulaanCreative Thanks a lot for your suggestion. How is Sony a6400?? Which is better for me for photography sony a6400 or canon R50?
I think it's a great camera for that.
I wanted to upgrade between the R50 and eos RP which would you recommend for a full-time videographer and content creator ?
The R50 is better. oversampled 6k. The rp is 4k but has a 1.6xcrop as well as no DP auto focus and 30 minute record linit compared to the 1 hr limit on the r50. It's also lineskipped 4k I believe. Imo the r50 is better for video even though you lose a little dynamic range.
HI, so you think is better if I buy the Canon EOS M50 mark ii or the Canon EOS R50? I'm a newbie.. I need the best choice with this budget to do photos at my family..
Canon R50
@@FulaanCreative Thanks :-)
Great video.. I have a question, I have a Canon 80D that I bought for video about 6-7 years ago, I still use the kit lens that I came with. It does not have 4K. When doing video indoors with the loss of daylight it is quite of noise/distortion in the video even thought there is not really a low light situation in the room I am making the video. Is there a lens you would recommend for my 80D that will make much better video in low light indoors or should I just go ahead and buy a new camera ? What's your opinion ? Thank you very much.. :D

2:00 black mist drop in filter (1/8 or 1/4) to use with the mieka for the R50?? I don’t know the different (1/8 or 1/4)

i am willing to buy R50. for more likely portraits photography. but i want to ask you. can i use third party flash or tiger directly to the camera or do i need a shoe adapter?
Should i use ef 50mm f1.8 with an adaptor or buy an rf50mm f1.8
The RF 50mm is nice and cheap. I would choose that over the older EF version as they are the same price. The only advantage the older one will give you is the ability to use it with the built in ND adapter.
Great video❤ How is the battery backup? How many shots in a single charge?
Between 320 and 450 or so
How would you advise someone making little documentaries and travel videos. Fx30 ? R8? R50?
Most would probably say the fx30. Personally I'd go with the R8. There is a battery grip you can buy for $60 that was designed for the RP. It works for the R8 and lets you use 2 batteries at once effectively doubling the lousy battery life.
@@FulaanCreative purely based on image quality :)-!?

The r10 feels better in the hand and is better at photography so it's worth the little extra cash in my opinion. I never used Manual Focus Beep so I'm not sure about that one.
