Omgggg the excitement when one of my fav RUclipsrs visits my all time favorite tomyam place. Have been patronizing this place for over 10 years and all I can say is their noodles taste different in every bowl as they cook each bowl separately, which makes me love it more as every visit surprises me. I wanted to scream on the screen asking you to try their “lor bak” but couldn’t, Lorbak is a type of fried Chinese spiced sausage wrapped in tofu skin, and their’s is one of the best ones in town! You guys gotta give it a try when you’re still in Penang.

Forgot to suggest this before you went to kelantan, but there is a restaurant by the sea at bachok, tawang beach that sells Maggie tomyam with oysters and squid eggs (subject to availability), the tomyam was thick and the creamy oysters further enhanced the thickness of the broth, was amazing.
Oyster + squid eggs. Ohhhhh. I hope I will make a trip to Kelantan.

I went there more than twice but I will make sure I won't order Maggie Tomyam or any relate to tomyum dishes. One time I went there, and order maggie tomyum all I get bland maggie tomyum , doesn't taste like tomyum at all and far from it. It's big no no but luckily their oyster is superb fresh and tasty ! Recommended ! Unlike in this video, this is what we called " Maggie Tomyum" ☺
RM 76 for two bowls of maggi and a few seafood side dishes in an open air restaurant? Thats just too much.
Always expect to pay a premium price for yummy quality seafood...they are never cheap LOL! ;)

nope. its not get scammed. the price all listed at table and depends what you takes. One normal bowl noodle already written there rm 13-14. additional item depends what u takes, They takes ming prawn so definitely expensive. FORside dishes around RM10to RM20 per plate,they take fried squid sure expensive lor . drinks is around RM5-7.
@purppinkdeth check my comment below i always go there and eat. i never take add item and only drinks herbal tea. what they takes and extra order definitelt matched the price.

That last sauce you mentioned is the lime juice. The lime (leaf / juice) taste best when you put it last. So that the heat wont kill the acidity of the lime juice.

Just love to see both of you enjoying our local cuisines the expressions on both your faces are priceless 😋🥰... and just a reminder no white t shirts or top when thinking of eating mee kari or any soupy dishes that can stained your clothes. If you do get those little splatters from the soup just dap some powder (talcum or baby powder) to prevent the oil from staining your clothes permanently. It works for me all the time i get oil stains from cooking 😉

What it means Maggi Mee in most stall is actually dried noodle/mee and the fish you eat is nice if it is fried well,can also cook with asam pedas paste in various form.

if you like curry puff... I recommend you try Penang Famous Samosa. Their samosa are super nice, fillings really full. the meat samosa like chicken or kambing is great. Vege samosa is alright. i dont like the Tuna though. You are free to try... honestly 2-3 samosa will fill you up like a full meal. careful and dont be greedy 😆
I think is this the specialty dish in Penang, for "Tomyum Maggie or Tomyum Mee". Its like sweet and sour but definitely not same with Tomyum in Thailand. This "Tomyum Maggie" is very tasty to have it for dinner or supper, very nice. :)

Suggest that iChang and Jimmy also try tomyam fish head noodle @ Ka Bee Cafe (49, Pengkalan Weld, George Town). It's all about personal preference but for me, Ka Bee's tomyam is better than Village Fish Head. Most of their regulars are local Penangite whereas Village Fish Head Bee Hoon have mostly outstation customers.

@@simonloh1855 Maggi price RM 13 per bowl , additional cost for Ming Fresh prawn and oyster mushroom is around RM10,so 2bowl together rm46 . Calamansi Juice around RM5-6. So both is around rm 12. side dishes Fried squid and around RM12 -14 per plate and calculated total 26. KARIPAP around rm3-4. so what you think its worth it or not. Nasi kandar is more expensive than this.

Another famous Thai food in Malaysia like Nasi Khao Mok ( Thai version of Briyani rice), Pulut Ayam, Pulut Mangga, Somtam & Thai sosej...at least in my place where the border just about 30 minutes...plus its cheap compared to what you get in Penang & other states 😁
