What special about Kelantan is we have some local spices (rempah). For example rempah Kerutuk, Gulai Kawah, Gulai Ayam, Kuzi, Dalca etc. to make variety of rice dishes..if you notice its taste different from mamak restaurant kind of spices... & we also have bunch of traditional kuih one of them is Akok that you guys eat... Welcome to Kelantan 😁
Semua negeri ada rempah yang tersendiri laaa.. 🤭🤭
@@jieyanayishaYana btul semua negri ada rempah cuma x sama cth nk masak kerutuk , masak kuzi atau gulai nasi berlauk pagi tu x delh kat negri lain...rasa dia akn berbeza.maksudnya klo nk masakan sama dgn tempat asal mesti pkai bahan yg sama , bkn dia kata negeri lain x de rempah sendiri.
Semua negeri pon special larr hehehehe.. But one thing true about kelantan dishes.. They are more sweet..
@ld pubg sy tgok ramai yg sakit hati dgn kelantan. Sehingga apa2 yg +ve dr kelantan mereka akan cuba nafikan. Xtau knp begitu rasis dan benci mereka pd org kelantan. Apa yg sakit hati sgt. Hnya org pemikiran kelas ke3 yg xblh terima kelebihan org lain.
Jimmy/iChang, one of the better dishes in kelantan is Nasi Belauk. It is prepared using kelantan local spices and have various brandnames eg. Nasi Air Dingin etc. The best of Nasi Belauk are in Tumpat area. Almost every nasi belauk stalls in Tumpat atea, big or small, are delicious. As for plenty of its unique sambal in the nasi belauk.
I have now come to a realization that IChang is a really good food critique. She's able to eloquently describe a dish in a way that can make someone imagine the taste in their brain and almost taste it at the tip of their tongue. If IChang were to write a book about her Malaysian food journey, I'm sure it'll be a best seller in no time! And fingers crossed it'll come trueeee! 🥺✨
Agreed. I always like the way iChang describes the foods.
Yes. 100% true.
Combine that with Jimmy's colorful reactions. Just perfect
@@muhammadhafidz1273 Exactly!
true, i agreed when she said pudding is the closest to akok. great deduction haha
iChang, the egg that Jimmy eats is not fish egg, not cod roe. It is Squid Egg, in BM is called Telur Sotong. 😁😁😍😍
17:52 That's Kuih Seri Muka. He said "yang tu pulut", "yang tu" means "that is" and "pulut" means sticky rice. Its so delicious. Don't forget to eat nasi kerabu, the most popular dish in Kelantan. p/s you have to know the right way to eat. It is very tasty. Welcome to Kelantan Ichang and Jimmy.
Kuih Seri Muka or Kuih Talam, both are ok
Or kuih sarlat/ salat
It must be a bit confusing for iChang because from what I've gathered. They understand that "ini" is "this" and "itu" is "that".
"itu" would usually mean "that". but in this case. "yang tu" (short for "yang itu") is said here instead of "itu" to signify that they are referring to a subject that has already been mentioned in the conversation.
An english equivalent would be from changing "a car" to "the car" in a sentence.
A:"That is A car. Is it yours?"
B:" Yes. THE car is mine"
I'm Singaporean ......first time I was there 2011 ,eat one of kelantanese dish make me falling in love with food especially kelantan food of the best food on the planet ...U should try kelantan laksam one of heaven food in Malaysia.....must try it when u in kelantan

"Kelantan is dangerous"
I agree with that. I only stayed at Kelantan for 6 months and gained 6kg 😅. It is a suprise because i was at other states before and my weight did not change at all.
Beware Ichang and Jimmy. I think both of you should weight yourselves after the end of your trip 😁.
Last thing from me, always bring bottled water with you because most of foods at Kelantan are very sweet. You might need it to wash the sweetness down. Good luck & all the best for both of you. May your trip end well
Only 6 kg in 6 months? I am surprised..
🤣😂😅😆🤣
@@Chuk392 It's true. I gained nothing for 3 years in Pahang and 5 years in Selangor. My bmi now in normal level from underweight level. It's a good for me and i like it 👏👏👏😁

Kelantan, terengganu and negeri sembilan have different eccent than the standart bahasa malaysia.. go to pasar siti khadijah.. u can see many traditional food there in one place.. about language barrier, maybe they think you are malaysian Chinese, thats why they dont speak english with u.. if someone speak malay with u and u cant understand, just said u are japanese, they will automatically speak english with u .
Petition for Ichang & Jimmy to host Jalan Jalan Cari Makan 😍 They make everything looks nice and delicious!
my wife already asked me so many times to bring her to Kelantan.. She wants traditional Kueh Akok from Kelantan.. it's our favorite.. will go there someday 💪
Akok famous kelantan. Boleh try akok salor, otw ke pasir mas.
Since you were already in Kelantan, please visit Terengganu for another level of food suprises. We have some similarity in terms of food and environment with what you have experienced in Kelantan. I list down here some of the famous traditional meal/ places that you should try when you arrive in Terengganu.
1. Nasi Dagang (You may visit Nasi Dagang Atas Tol)
2. Ikan Celup Tepung (You may visit Pok Nong ICT)
3. Kerepok Lekor or Malaysian Fish Sausage
4. Ketupat Sotong
5. Laksa Terengganu
6. Nasi minyak Terengganu
7. Satar and otak otak
8. Netbat (usually during month of Ramadhan)
Enjoy your food hunting!
I had the most amazing simple Nasi Dagang from a fishing boat, just a piece of tuna, but the taste still engraved in my memory till now...heaven!
Di Kelantan ada sesetengah tempat panggil Pulut Kaya bukan Seri Muka😅
@@tengkufirdaus4483 in Terengganu we called it Tok Aji Serban
That unknown thing is squid egg ! Yummy ! BTW ...for me best Chinese food in Malaysia is in Ipoh and Penang , and the best malay food in Malaysia is Kelantanese food !!! Rasa kelate !
I think you are wrong
Best Malay food is Kedah , Johor , and Kelantan
In kelantan, u can also experience Thai food, they are already near the border so u dont hv to cross border to enjoy good Thai food.
Very lucky to find a women that love to eat and no complaints.
Both of you are wonderful.
'Yatu pulu' thats funny. What hes trying to say is 'yang itu pulut' which means 'that is pulut'. Pulut is the glutonious rice ( beras pulut ) on the lower part. Its quite hard to find Kelantanese that can speak proper english, so you need to be creative like iChang.👍👍
Fact. Speaking bersepah 😅
Hahahaah
Kuih seri muka at certain place in Malaysia call it pulut sekaya.. maybe thats why they call it pulut
Same if we go to Japan..they speak less English too
Some place they call pulut kaya n seri muka😄
I loved this episode so much! All the things we take for granted are amazing to you..
Every time you eat something it makes me feel that I have to go out and find it too! Don’t stop making these videos :)
Kelantan, the underrated food heaven! people were missing a lot if they didn't try Kelantan food. with that being said, i strongly recommend you both to try Laksam (Kelantanese version of Laksa) and Nasi Kerabu for breakfast

Ayam will be ayae
I truly enjoyed Kelantan hospitality and food when I briefly worked there many years ago. The people are sincere, warm and food wise you cannot find this taste elsewhere. Only thing is to note for is hygiene in some restaurant (not a criticism, but an observation, let's be objective)
Kelantanese let's attack this guy! Sek kito jange pecoh 😂.It's same anywhere when it comes to hygiene.Maybe you're just too hygienic.I stay in kelantan for working has no issue with this.

Sbg Kelantanese, saya setuju dgn statement ini
I think throughout Malaysia occasionally we'll see restaurants not really up to the hygienic standards. Let's improve together and make our country better like how the Japanese treat their country

it's great to watch both of them wholeheartedly enjoy the nasi kukus. guess what, that's not even the no 1 ranking nasi kukus in KB (of course different people'd have different preference) but for the locals, the champion Nasi Kukus is Nasi Kukus Zaeman (lunch); and nasi kukus Warisan @ nasi kukus Public Bank (dinner). few hundred yards east of ths restaurant is another popular nasi campur place.
