char kuey teow is our go to for Malaysian comfort food👍
Great choice! We’re hooked on it here in Penang. Getting our fill before we head to the next destination
@@FoodandFootprints perhaps if got the chance, we bring also Steve and Ivana to Ipoh for the Tuck Kee fried noodles and the octopus 🐙😂😋
KC Liew Could totally go for more Moonlight Hor and octopus 🤤🤤😋😋
that noodle made by bouncing the giant bamboo is so cool!
Right? Such a show to see
@@FoodandFootprints my trip was too short, not enough time to try out the Bamboo wan tan mee.
Hopefully I'll able to try out in my next trip 🙂
Yes! Never enough time to explore all the incredible food here in Penang. But we did eat two legendary dishes, which is great for just a few hours 😁
Rice noodles plus egg noodles mix w a red broth!! The prawn must be so flavorful!!! Perfect soup dish
Mikki Shih Tzu That combo works so well with that broth!!
Yum Yum Yum! Loving this food tour!
Thanks, guys! Soo much great food here in Penang
Penang seems like an endless supply of delicious food man.. im literally am very hungry right now
Absolutely right. Even with 5 weeks here, there is so much more we will have to come back to try another time
Think we would like that Hokien Mee in Penang more for sure, the first thing we thought was incredible when we saw it and Greg took the words right out of our mouths! Amazing!
Travel Interesante - Gökçe and Steve A must-try when you come to Penang! 😋
Love that mix of noodles, and you are right the colors are outstanding, and you say it is the richest broth you have eaten, well that is a high bar you put there Greg
We must go there
One of the richest broths for sure. You definitely must go there - although the chili sauce on the spoon maybe put that on the side somewhere 😂
Congrats on that 10k!!!! You zoomed right thru it!! So happy for you guys
Thanks a lot! You’ve been there before 1K - much love!
Char koay teow.. looks like the perfect rainy day meal mmm..
Yup! Or perfect any day meal 😋
Love the noodles there, the dishes all look fantastic 😍😍🤤
Thank you! They all were so tasty and lots more to be had here 🤤
Wow the bambuu stick step on noodle...very traditional! Nothing changed then when it comes to the old school method on making noodles
You know it! Love the traditional old school methods
The char koay teow looks so good! Charcoal adds such a delicious smokey flavor 😋
Rudy Visuals It is! Eating lots of char koay teow in Penang is a must. Love the charcoal fired cooking too

You are making my mouth water describing the prawn broth! It sounded like the highlight of the meal.
Melissa Santos That broth is really special! Will probably be back again this week
Awhhhh that plate of fried kuey teow at Siam road! We definitely miss out this spot, next time for sure, making us salivate now 🤤!
Puri and Sue Next time! Also Ah Leng Char Koay Teow. Both are excellent. The beauty of Penang where you can keep coming back to try more!
@@FoodandFootprints thanks to you two, I am able to try Ah Leng CKT for the first time. Great experience 🙂😁
KC Liew So glad they were open and that we got to enjoy it together! One of the best CKT we’ve had in Penang
LAP CHEONG! OMG :> omg i literally want a malaysian char kway teow right now.. them chili sambal, prawn, lap cheong adds sourness :D? isnt it sweet its supposed to be sweet! BUT YES i agree i love it when they cook it on those big azz street wok with dinosaur flames, because they keep reusing it so the whole wok is just intense in flavour and aroma from the previous cooked dish
Nick and Helmi Go get some char koay teow! Yeah definitely sweet with that fermented funk to go with it. Hahaha those flames are the best. Soo true! That well-seasoned wok adds to it
Food and Footprints- Greg and Jumi what they call it BREATH OF something :0
Nick and Helmi Haha yup wok hei!
Nice analysis of Penang food. Yes, Hokkien mee is different in Penang , KL and Singapore. That is the variety in this part of the world.
