These pumps fail for fun. Same as Corsa D. Done loads. Alway check fat wires at battery end to see if they're tight. Nearly always pump though.
On another note Louis, have a look at the OBDStar DC706. Has the same functions of IOTerminal. Reads/writes FLASH/EEPROM etc. of the modules we do without disassembly. Just paid £1176 for it (full Auth) with the P003 adapter. Yearly updates not expensive either. Might be useful for you.

Been looking at io terminal myself. How you getting on with the obdstar?Looks a good bit or kit.

@@devilspawn0797 Had it for a few days. It's worked on every ECU I've tried in the workshop except an E87 that somebody killed trying to flash it. When I get another I'll update. The 706 is supposed to recover it but no go. To be fair I think the ECU is toast anyway. It works perfectly on an E83, same MPU as the E87. It reads Ford BCMs and Vauxhall BCMs no problem. Need to get hold of a couple of PSA BCMs to try next week. Time will tell how good it is. Updates are about £150 a year. There's a Facebook group for it and they like feedback.

Corsa D use full electric servomotor located on Steering shaft! At least Diesel versions.

This is Electro-hydraulic. Corsa has full electric only! So, not the same.

Forgetting to latch a connector got me in a world of pain a few weeks ago when one of my guys had to remove a dash to replace a heater core. Not going to deep into it but it was pure misery for me . Nice in depth diagnose Luis. 👍

Very informative, ive been quoted £1500, no way is the car worth that. and a bit beyond my skill level, but thanks this was a fantastic, and methodical fault find and fix, love you stripped down to component level. great work

Do you know by any chance if the new pump that was put in was already decoded from the doner car, because it seems that the car's ecu recognised it and steering fault warning light did not come on.

Good morning Luis! Excellent lengthy diagnosis and repair. I suspect the previous owner due to spiralling costs have given up this re-occuring fault. I understand the owner ordered a used EPS unit to replace. There's a well known UK company who provide re-engineered parts with a life time warranty, at a small fraction of the cost compared with main dealers. How's that possible? Keep up the good work as always 😊

good morning Luis its kind of you to sort other faults for free good customer relations the only thing is sometimes doing freebees can get you into a world of hurt and cost you big time when things goes tits up i have learned to do only what is asked and make records of before during and after just in case they try it on ps thanks for the vid

Dismount steering pump motor was surprised me why they used a lot of Electronics inside an hydraulic pump?they could do that with an external module and if module has a fault you don’t need to replace all the unit

      Indeed...

Electronic convert DC to 3 Phase AC for Motor. For that need also Hall sensor, current sensor. For an external ECU to many wires required! It is logic!

I would love to know how the 80A fuse popped unless previously careless testing methods but no burn marks or hotspots to give it away.

Hi do you need to get EPS coded to your car, I have replaced mine twice and still no power steering, my original pump kept blowing an 80 amp fuse

When removing the pump, what's bolts did you undo. Was it the two that you can see or the the 10mm three around the pump?

    • @LMAutoRepairs

      Can't remember now...
But I believe yes, some nuts that holds the pump to the bracket...

Hi my son has a 2012. 3 series bmw and the heater motor failed the garage fitted a new one but now has error code 8011f9 and that he is unable to diagnose the problem, google tells me this:- 8011F9 internal component failure PTC module, is it something you have encountered before? Any help appreciated thanks

A lifetime warranty is in my opinion a marketing advertising...
Not going in depth here why I think that way, but it is a good option for the customer if there is such companies offering such services, and definitely a to go option...
