I have been getting a lot of requests on how I unmould my kueh salat without damaging the side and top portion. This has been a long time coming and I finally got down to make an instructional video for this. I use normal cake pans to make my kueh salat and use different tools for unmoulding round and square shaped kueh.
I think showing you exactly how I did it with a video is much easier to understand than simply explaining in words. Hope you like it.

Tyfs, I made half of this recipe in a parchment paper liner. It came out with ease hot or cold. The other half I used silicone mold. Also came out easy. Thank you again for the lovely recipe.

Hai.. Thanks for sharing the recipe. Can't wait to try it soon. May i know what size of square mold. Because based on recipe given, round one is 24cm right
You can use 20 to 22 cm square pan (8 - 9 ins)

Hi Mr Shiokman, Thank you for showing how you unmould your kueh. I did not line my square pan with baking paper and had a lot of problem unmoulding my kueh. Does lining the bottom of the pan makes a difference? Thank you.
Yes it does. Without the baking paper at the bottom, the Kueh will be stuck to the pan.

How do you get your kuih top to be so perfect? Any tips on d steaming process? TIA

Also you need to control your steaming heat and wiping away any moisture that will be formed underneath the steamer cover.

May I check can keep for how many days in fridge?
About a week or slightly longer. Just thaw it to room temp before consuming. If the rice gets too dry and hard you can lightly resteam it to soften the rice.
