- In today's video, we will see what bullets can do to ballistics gel after going through steel. Testing was setup at 50 yards using A529 gr 55 mild steel mounted in Steel Sled the original. Thanks for watching!

Why do you keep calling these projectile fragments """wads"""? It's the bullet itself, not a wad. These aren't shotguns.
Buddy, he's talking about the chunk of steel that the bullet punches out.
Take that selfie boy
"""wadcutter"""
It cuts wads
I think the real term is called "Spalling".
@@maraudersr1043 True. More of a term you think of with tanks, but it's still true.
Tear-y the torso is a real stand up guy! 👍😁
Didn’t fall down once lol
@@bananaballistics I really wanna see you compare 338 win mag and 300 win mag vs. Steel
You get two for one if your target is behind mild steel. I’ve always wondered how effective Spalling was. Now we know.
Thanks For Being Such A Trooper Terry! lol
It's really cheesy, but i love your humor. Watching your videos, its evident that you are having a good time making them.
"How'd that feel buddy"
Love it
Hope Terry has danger pay lol. My favorite gun channel cheers from Canada 🍻
You've become one of my favorite youtubers that I watch new videos as soon as possible, great content!
Now try two pieces of 1/4" plate separated from each other vs one piece of 1/2" plate. If this proves better or worse for one or the other try different spacings between the plates such as 1/4" gap, 1/2" gap, 3/4" gap and a 1" gap, you could also try larger gaps such as a 3" gap, a 6" gap and then a 12" gap depending on the previous results.
I have shot M855A1 through 2 1/4 plates. 16in barrel went through both 11.5in stopped on 2nd one
This is a new test I haven’t seen 500 times so cudos for that plus for the M855A1 round testing. 👍
Ever done defensive rounds through common barriers? Windshields, 2X4s, metal exterior door and tile. I placed a head of red cabbage two feet from the barrier, water jugs to catch the projectile and shot from 10 & 20 yards. Used 9mm gold dots and 223 federal fusion rds.
I like that idea, what things have the potential to protect you from a high caliber rifle
I do have a line of barrier testing videos coming out soon. Nothing that you mentioned, but it has been pretty interesting lol
Really intresting video.thank you
Good test. Interesting results. Thank you.
Thanks for the fun video
U weld huh?!?
Gr8 videos had to sub ya n can’t wait to watch the other videos!!
With everyone hyping the armor piercing capability of the 8.6BLK I’d love to see how sub and super sonic loads do on steel
Great video!
Nice video! Everyone always talks about how hot the bullets and wads get after being shot through. Would be awesome if you could get an infrared thermometer on the wad so we can see just how hot it gets. And compare different caliber temperatures!
The way you talk to poor terry lol is hilarious 😂🤗🇨🇦
That m855 A1 is a nasty round
❤IT out freaking standing
This is uncanny! I was just thinking about this today. It doesn’t look like steel slows a bullet down enough to matter if it’s going through the steel plate anyway.
👍👍
I saw a video where a guy tested lvl4 steel armor against fmj rounds and they would basically vaporize on impact but the steel wad (I think you call it) the size of a fully expanded soft point went right through the torso on the other side
I wish you would do a test on the “Down Range Industry” level 111 plate. Especially with the new M855 steel penetrator, .308, and regular green tip.
I’ll have to check out that plate
@@bananaballistics Thanks, that would be awesome. Love your channel
Most entertaining video
BANANA BALLISTICS💪👍👌❤👏
7.62×54 -VS STEEI.
Dude, for real, you have voice for radio.
If someone reaches out I may give it a try lol
Half of his crowd agrees! I think he'd be an incredible addition to a quartet as a bass.
Maybe do a podcast once a month. Have guys from the industry on, going over their products and you testing.
I love the whistle when you say shit. Especially how the expletive is still audible. 😂😂😂
Sweet looking Tikka
Finally someone did it.
Hail Teary, don't be contrary
You should do a video on muzzleloader vs mild steel
Have you ever tried 40lb bags of wood pellets fore stopping different types of rounds?
6mm ARC vs 223 vs 308 👍
I have to wonder how hot the steel gets after the bullet punches out the hole. The piece that gets punched out and into the body has to get hotter than hell.
Please try Weatherby cartridges 🙏
Good video
Have you considered doing aluminum plates next?
I would have shot terry for laying down on the job like that. Oh never mind, you did...with extreme prejudice. Honestly maybe turning terry around after each shot or Caliber or find a way to mark previous shots.
The steel wads alone, wouldn't do a man any good. Plus, the bullet and the frags.
Your steel waD is known as a CARTWHEEL 😂
That 300 Winchester magnum is very impressive
Holy sh🚂t that was a fun video.
I wonder what the limit of m855a1 is 3/4 or 1 inch
1/2 is about max from what I’ve seen
Gracias,eres mejor que demolition ranch.
Que?
can you retest 22-250 with some armor penetration loads
I’ll definitely do 22-250 again but can’t promise those rounds.
Yeah M855 A-1 Greentip @ 3100fps all day long..👌
Umm got any of that A1 for the rest of the class?
Try a individual V1 sled for each thickness of steel.
Key lime green is a good spray paint color for steel , and easily spotted
I am more curious about steel or some other barrier and then 3A armor.
Teary is a jam up guy
👌🏻👌🏻
Paint pen to mark each shot as they happen and a fresh, large piece of paper behind Terry to see what got through.
Would be cool to see how heating or cooling effects the steel plates when it comes to penetration. Not sure if ive ever seen anyone test that yet.
Heat means less dense, cool means more dense, same dynamics of air.
Should have put a clean cardboard piece behind and in front on Terry. Then you'd be able to see the frag damage and KNOW what passed thru.
300 H.H. 165 gr. boat tail 3100f.per sec. But I Have never shot steel!
Think you can get some M80A1 projectiles to load in both 7.62x51 and .300WM?
308 is on the way, not sure about 300 win mag though
3,500 fps easy.
"Oww....shit that is hot!" lmao
If you ever make teeshirts, you have to make one of your hand holding a wad with captions "oww........shit that is hot!" 😆
To answer your question, "What would happen if you get shot through steel?" You die.
My best to Terry.
Where do you get all your steel plates from? They're all perfectly cut and clean with no rust, you must have a good source
I have access to a bandsaw which is nice
I think the wad went through Terry
Better get Terry a banana man or maybe a healthy care package.
6.5 prc please
So it's worse because you get hit twice?
Also m855ai looks like it's designed to do this and still tumble or something
Excellent video Double B..... 💥🥳💥
Using a torso to complete your extremely scientific experiment is genius!
I'm trying to figure out why I'm so turned on after watching these videos?!? 🤔
What you are calling a wad,we called that spal
you need 7/16ths steel
Ruined barrel?
👍😊
❤👍
😊
Yeah mild steel sucks for armor. Lol😂
Go Tear y
😎🍌🍌🍌😎
270 all day long
First
*Terrrrry!*
I hope you do voice over commercials & narrations for your day job. You would get much work I can assure you. Easy work & it pays very well
This man has a great voice for commercials and radio, you’re right about that bro
DAMN HE GOT SHOT WITH 2 BULLETS ,THE BULLET AND THE STEEL SLUG!
