Could you have accidentally mixed up the video between the two?
Something sure seems strange.
Shorties are tend to be all over the place, and longer barrels are usually more consistent.
No way they were mixed up, I did some chronograph work today an upcoming video and the same thing happened using the same guns. 6in was within listed velocity and 2" was way too high. I went back to the range later with an older Caldwell chronograph and got more realistic numbers. Idk what's up with the other chronograph but I'm thinking about getting a newer one 🤔 Garmin has a nice one but it's expensive.
Gotta love the bones brigade on the wall .
I have a few real nice original complete boards if your interested.
Thanks for Watching and commenting and your offer I'm missing Tony Hawk and Lance Mountain to be complete I just don't have any more wall space lol. I also have a Schmitt Stix yard Stix and a Jeff kendall for cruising on. 👍🏻
I’m really doubting both of those velocities. Definitely the 2 inch. 1700 from a 2” is unheard of. Then it shows the 6” being slower but in gel you can see the jacket curled all the way to the base vs the 2” which left a decent shank.
Edit: I guess you said all this at the end lol
Thanks for watching and commenting.Especially if we're watching all the way to the end 😆. I don't know what was up with my chronograph, but I bought some new and better batteries and cleaned the sensors lenses, and it seems to be working again. The numbers are nice and all. But what really matters is the on target performance. And that round did well in both barrel. Lengths, I wouldn't hesitate to carry it.👍🏻
@@oso4586you’re standing to close to it. It’s either measuring the gasses from the muzzle or this is the hottest fastest .357 in the history of the cartridge. The 1500/1600 from the six inch is probably about right. The two inch is probably 1250 ish.
Have you compared the Hornady Black .357 to other .357 Hollow points? I just picked up a box of these from Academy and wanted to test them out. I've used the Critical Defense .357, which shoots well but is way more expensive.
I haven't done much testing with the .357mag, I plan on doing more. I agree that the Critical Defense ammo is expensive that's why I haven't tested that much of it, but for the money, Sig Sauer Elite ammo works really well. Thanks for watching and commenting.
Seems like wrong readings with 2 inch.
Yeah, the readings were wrong. I just put the data that I got from the test I had. I didn't have enough ammo to rerun the test using a different chronograph. The numbers aren't the main thing, though. The performance is, and I'm hoping that the video showed that. It's an exceptional round and I wouldn't hesitate to carry it thanks for Watching and commenting
Cool video, that's a badass round
Thank you. Thank you for watching and commenting. It is an awesome round that preformed exceptionally.Well, Hornady Black has performed well in every caliber. I've tested it except for .380 acp, and I suspect it was a bad box. I plan on getting another box later on and giving it another chance. I'm sure any of the ammunition I've given good reviews on can have a bad batch happen occasionally.
@@oso4586 you can get a bad 1 from any company occasionally. No company is perfect
Ahhhh, the good ol 357mag,,,
👍🏻 I totally understand... some things just feel right 😄.
