    #ThePriceIsRight #BobBarker #GameShows #ClassicTV #ComeOnDown
    Here it comes, television's most exciting hour of fantastic prizes the fabulous sixty-minute Price is Right!
    We are showcasing episodes not viewed in decades. Starting from Season 11 (1982), this is the first season when animal furs were no longer offered as prizes, supporting Bob’s advocacy of animal rights in memory of his wife Dorothy Jo.
    To celebrate what would have been Bob Barker's 100th birthday, the channel is also featuring episodes from the debut season of The "New" Price Is Right in 1972.

    And even when school was cancelled because of a snowstorm, extreme heat, or we were on summer vacation - this was the place to be, even right up though Bob Barker's retirement. Hard to believe it's now 17 years ago today that he retired from hosting this show after 35 years on TPIR, and 50 years overall on television.

      Gene was good but he wasn't right to announce on TPIR. Gene liked to accent and drag out his words like he was announcing an event. Johnny had a easy flow to his voice. He sounded slicker and could announce like he was double parked.

    Eugene Wood is great as if Randy West is. If Mark Goodson worked for Fremantle Media until his death in 1992, he knows how to dominate.

    • @taronjeroneharris1313
      @taronjeroneharris1313 26 дней назад

      Mark Goodson never worked for Fremantle. He owned TPIR. After his passing in 1992, his son Mark took over, but because he didn't have the same passion for gameshows as his father, he sold the company to another group, who eventually got bought out by Fremantle Media.

    • @silentbob3208
      @silentbob3208 26 дней назад +2

      His son was Jonathan Goodson and he took over until it was sold. He later opened his own production company. Now, Fremantle owns the entire Goodson library and rights to shows like Price.

    • @johnwiesner9590
      @johnwiesner9590 26 дней назад +1

      Mark liked Ray Combs as the host of Family Feud, but John didn't have a good opinion of Ray. Not long after Mark passed away and John took over operations, Ray was fired as host of Family Feud, and Dawson came back to host the show, which only lasted one season. Sadly, Ray's life went into a downward spiral after being fired from Family Feud, which led to him committing suicide a few years later.

    I was sick with the flu when I was a little girl and I had to miss a few days of school and I watched the Price is Right episodes with Gene Wood. I thought that his voice was unsuited to be the announcer of the Price is Right. Rod Roddy's voice was more equivalent to Johnny Olson.
