I miss Bob Barker so much. When I see him, I just think of the days as a kid home from school sick (sometimes "sick") laying on the couch with my Sprite and chicken noodle soup. Good memories.

Bob Barker will forever be 1 of the best people to have ever hosted the price is right. Drew Carrey does a ok job at hosting the show, but Bob Barker was the king. There will never be another.
Considering only two people in the history of Earth have ever hosted “The Price Is Right” (3 if you count when Ricki Lake hosted a celebrity version for a night when they did 5 classic game shows in 5 nights…I forgot I watched that years ago, but saw a clip of it on RUclips about a month ago), then it’s very hard to say you’re wrong. I applaud the effort the energy & humor that Drew Carey adds as host of the show & he kept his promise to keep reminding people to control the pet population, but nobody can ever take Bob's place

It was actually more than 22 years ago. This clip aired in 1996 as a retrospective to their 25th anniversary show. I was in the audience for that show. They were showing numerous clips from years past including the famous “Yolanda Bowsley” scene.. “she came on down and they came on out.” .. I don’t know the original air date for this clip but I’m guessing the 80s
I remember watching this right when it premiered. It blew my mind to say the least. I remember a few years later Barker even mentioned it to another contestant playing Punch-a-Bunch.
All time top 10 moment of The Price is Right for sure! The epic decision, Bob's grand selling of the results, just absolutely amazing even 23-ish years later.
I have very fond memories of laughing with my grandmother while we watched The Price is Right. During summer vacation we would watch all the old game shows. We loved seeing contestants win and win big. I can watch these old clips and it takes me back.

I think that was one of the worst gambles of all time. Had 5k and through it away for a 5% chance to double and a 95% chance of a lot lot less. He had balls but gambling wise it was a suckers bet. I oughta!!*******

I'm glad I finally found this. Thank you for posting. His wife said "Keep it." That should have been the end of it right there. Yes it was stupid. Yes it was lucky. Yes it is one of the greatest game show moments ever and what keeps us coming back for more. TPIR was the best for moments like these. I see people ripping Bob on this thread and it's not fair at all. His job is to milk some time, create suspense and bring out the humanity of the contestant while adding humor if possible. He sure succeeded here. I like to focus on the second he saw the $10000 card when he realized what a moment that was. He only milked slightly before slamming it home. There were 2 $10000 cards and 3 $5000 cards in the whole board. At that time, $10000 was the maximum prize. This happened on 1/26/96.

True, but the reason the show lost its appeal is not all Drew's fault. It doesn't have any production value anymore. It's now just a bunch of greedy contestants with "pick me" shirts in a set that's a million watts too bright with games that are increasingly impossible to win. I bet nobody can name even two of the models anymore.

I think it's safe to say that Bob Barker's microphone is every bit as iconic as, say, Freddie Mercury's. Just my opinion.

I'm glad I finally found this. Thank you for posting. His wife said "Keep it." That should have been the end of it right there. Yes it was stupid. Yes it was lucky. Yes it is one of the greatest game show moments ever and what keeps us coming back for more. TPIR was the best for moments like these. I see people ripping Bob on this thread and it's not fair at all. His job is to milk some time, create suspense and bring out the humanity of the contestant while adding humor if possible. He sure succeeded here. I like to focus on the second he saw the $10000 card when he realized what a moment that was. He only milked slightly before slamming it home. There were 2 $10000 cards and 3 $5000 cards in the whole board. At that time, $10000 was the maximum prize. This happened on 1/26/96.
I like how Bob presented this...it was perfect! He made it seem like Brian lost. Building suspense ftw! :)
Drew never does that, when Bob was the host, he would keep the studio and TV audience in suspense and I loved it when he would do that
@Tiffany: Maybe that's because of the amount of ads they put on the show, giving us about 38 total minutes of show. "Time is money," as it's said, and the more ads they can put on, the more money in their safes.

True, but the reason the show lost its appeal is not all Drew's fault. It doesn't have any production value anymore. It's now just a bunch of greedy contestants with "pick me" shirts in a set that's a million watts too bright with games that are increasingly impossible to win. I bet nobody can name even two of the models anymore.

Bob Barker is (note the verb tense) a treasure. He goes back to the 1950s, with another game show ("Truth or Consequences") that he also hosted for a long time. Bless His Heart!
