I have an OLED and I wish to play co-op games on our own switches. Is this possible? And if so how do I know which games allow this? And if it is possible, do I have to purchase the game twice in order to play co-op?
This is EXTREMELY well made. This video addressed my exact concerns with owning 2 switches as I'll be sharing them amongst family members. You're a lifesaver, thanks a ton! :)

Never thought about just disconnecting my switch from the internet since it’s the primary. Great loophole, thank you.
Just for some clarity you can take either of these systems on the go with internet connection as long as you have a hotspot on your phone. The switch runs surprisingly well on hotspot.
@jeanmichelgonzuna only at the beginning just like in the video. You just connect it long enough for it to verify the account and then you do the same thing that he did you hold the home button down and you select airplane mode and that will turn the Internet off
I know this is old but I have a question… Can I play digital switch games across switches in co-op mode? Ex Mario kart in the same game, together at the same time?
It can, but it's not automatic. If you're playing the same game simultaneously, even though you're using the same eShop account, you'll be using a different profile on each Switch. You can go into the settings to transfer the save file from one Switch to the other, or upload to the cloud if you have Nintendo Switch Online. I would turn off automatic cloud saving just to be safe; I would hate for an older save to overwrite a newer save!
We tried this using our kids (3) Switch Lites. The main (full size) Switch is the primary console. We put the main Switch in sleep mode, cut airplane mode on, on all 3 kids Switch Lites and get the message of “Please turn Airplane Mode off when appropriate for your surroundings. You can do this in Quick Settings.” What are we doing wrong? Kids are wanting to play the same games like Mario Odyssey, Dreamlight Valley, Mario 3D World, Zelda, etc., on their own Switch Lites at the same time. Any help you can give us would be greatly appreciated!!

As long as you don't switch to another game or end the game by closing out of it entirely or having the Switch run out of power, it shouldn't need to reconnect to the internet at all. You can have it connect to the internet as long as the primary Switch isn't connected at the same time, playing the same game.
So if I bought two switches and had two of the same game let's say Minecraft physical copies , can we play together in creative world I guess we both can join the same world I'm new to the switch and want to play with my kiddo

Physical games should work just fine, EXCEPT if you have DLC for them. It will treat the DLC portion like a digital title, go through the whole verification process on secondary systems, and if it can't verify then it simply doesn't allow access to the DLC. But if we're talking about physical games with no DLC, then you should have no issues.

I found this video for help because this has only been an issue for me recently. I swear on my mother at least 8 months ago I was able to play ACNH online & visit between two islands in animal crossing on the same singular account (which you need the internet to do) & it's evident since I still have the hundreds of furniture & clothes from that time. Since then I've been playing Pokemon Violet on my primary switch then after I got burn out I went to check on my ACNH islands again today (I have two physical copies btw) to pick up where I left off & it's popping up that message about the restriction but it shouldn't apply to me here because to my knowledge this isn't supposed to happen with physical copies from what I've read online so far. The message also appears even if I'm playing two totally different games so I don't know what the heck is going on but I do know that I'm not making a second account. My secondary switch lite has my mom's unused account on it & I already don't love that I have to keep it on there as a requirement for my main account to exist. I feel kind of gaslit by Nintendo because I wouldn't put it past them to implement changes to make it more strict without saying anything. This is irritating nonetheless since this hasn't been a problem previously unless they were digital & or the same game like explained in the video. Not sure airplane mode still allows local play so I'll have to check if this will work for what I need it for but thanks for the advice.

Stick drift can affect the Switch Lite, so if you're sending it in to be repaired, you'll be without your whole system for a few weeks. The OLED has the best build quality, screen, most internal space... If you don't mind the higher price tag, I'd go OLED over the other two.
You may run into a problem since the digital game is tied to a Nintendo account for the eShop. If you make another profile using the same Nintendo account, you're in the same boat as using the same profile. But if you tie a new account to a second profile, then I suspect you'll lose access to the games on the primary account.
So my girlfriend has games she’s purchased on her OLED but I have a different account for my normal switch. So I won’t be able to play the games she’s downloaded unless I signed into her account on my switch?
That's right, you would need to sign into her account to play games she's purchased. In fact, one Switch can have up to 8 accounts! Though I wouldn't get 6 more girlfriends to pull that off. It would be problematic...
Does this method work for two different games played at the same time? Say, one kid wants to play Minecraft on the Lite and the other kid wants to play Just Dance on the TV using the original switch. I purchased digital copies of both games under my account. Thanks,
You shouldn't need to use the workaround at all with two different games. With the same account on two different Switches, the secondary Switch will need to be connected online to launch any digital games. That would be the only potential hangup.
What about, my brother is playing a physical game which has all the DLCs + online mode and I play on the other switch, also a physical game which has all the DLCs, does this work? And another question is: Can I play mario kart 8 deluxe online (physical game) and can he play smash bros online (also physical game) at the same time?
Assuming you're using the same account that the DLCs are under, playing two different games at the same time should be no trouble at all. You will still need to put up with the online check nonsense on the secondary system, but I don't see a problem happening in those scenarios.

Since the NES and SNES collection do not support local wireless play, you cannot use two Switches to play 2-player games unless they're online, in which case you'd need two accounts and two NSO memberships. You CAN play 2-player on a single Switch through using an additional controller. This does work on Switch Lite since you can pair more than one controller to it, but it isn't a very ideal way to play to be sure.
this may work and all.. but you do realize that there is way to not have any of this be a issue and freely play on both consoles without a issue and even play ONLINE with both consoles at the same time. example.. playing animal crossing on two diff switches on the same account
No. With physical games, since it's limited to one system at a time naturally, the Switch will not check online to make sure another Switch on your account is playing the same game. BUT if you have DLC for the physical game and you are playing it on the secondary Switch, it will check online to make sure the DLC can be played.
Is it just my eyes or is RE4 looking 10X clearer and sharper on the OG Switch vs. the Lite? Does the OG Switch have a special backlight missing on the Lite? I thought they have the same screen resolution.
They do have the same resolution, and the screen on the Lite is actually somewhat sharper since the pixel density is higher. Looking at the footage in the video, I had each Switch set at different angles and it looks to me like the Lite was catching a glare from a lamp I had on in the background that the standard Switch didn't.
@@Level1Sword Thanks for the clarification and prompt reply! I have a Zancian and Zamazenta Switch Lite and even though the sticks are messed up I have 100% on RE Revelations 2 which I could never get on the Vita because even my messed up Lite's sticks are better than the short throw on Vita.

If you own the game digitally on your primary switch and buy the game physically for the secondary switch, will you be allowed to play on both systems at once?
Yes, that ought to work with no problem. I say "ought to" since lately I have noticed if my primary Switch is on and connected to the internet, but no games are open, sometimes the secondary Switch still does not want to open any digital games because the primary Switch "may" be playing that game. This didn't seem to happen when I made the video, and it doesn't happen all the time, but it's still weird that it happens at all.
@@YaraKoro Not going to lie, it is a bit of a hassle owning two using the same account. @@Topsixd You bet! I've got 3 Switches now, so juggling the digital titles and DLCs is even more complicated. Just remember, if a second Switch can't connect online and you have DLC for the physical game, it will still let you play but without the DLC.
@@Level1Sword Okay thanks :) So when he's outside I'll just make his switch be the primary one haha.
@@Level1Sword I thought that, when both play physical games, that have dlcs, at the same time, then only 1 person can use he Dlcs. And the other game just can't or pauses.
Thanks for the info bro!
What if I had a switch lite as primary and its not working anymore? If I buy a new one can I just log in to my old account and play my downloaded games? The account is still open and active on the old one because one day it just stopped working so I couldn't log out or link it to a secondary etc...so can I be logged into same account on two separate switches without linking or needing to set it up on the first (primary) switch which as I said doesn't turn on or work anymore..
If you go to accounts.nintendo.com, you can sign into your Nintendo account and deactivate your primary Switch from there. Looks like the only caveat is you can use this method only once a year to deactivate a console.
@@Level1Sword thank you so very much! Yes I only need to do it once to make my new light the primary and deactivate the old one for good. Thank you again, your the best!
@@lowercentenary Just doin' my job. Now please turn around while I make swishing sounds to make you think I'm heroicly flying away... 😅
can it also be played with another account I downloaded into the secondary switch? like, I downloaded it to a friend's and he can't open it into his Switch Lite. It was possible for him to play it in my switch (I only own one) but he cant even open it from his eventhough its redownloaded into his console. Thank you~
Did you sign into your account on his Switch, and then try to play it from there? If so, he probably just needs to create a separate profile for your account on his Switch. Let me know how that goes.
@@Level1Sword in my switch there is my profile and added a new created one of him (first time player). After hyping him up he got the Lite one then he signed my account in his and also has his own account there. So my question is, can he play it with his profile into his Lite with the games he redownlaoded from my nintendo account in the eshop. I ask also because of the saved data of his in mine. He can open the game under my profile and its from 0 since there is no saved data there.
@@mayrapacheco3599 As far as I know, so long as his Switch has your Nintendo account on it (with its own profile, not the same profile he uses with his own account), and you have Nintendo Switch Online to enable cloud saves on your account... If you're following the other steps listed in video, it should launch ok and he can download and use your save data.
I have had some issues more recently where one of my secondary Switch systems thinks my primary Switch is online and playing the game when it's on Sleep mode not playing any game. Not sure when that change happened, but it's very frustrating just trying to play digital content on one of my secondary Switches. Hopefully that's not what is causing your issue, because I don't know a workaround for that.
@@Level1Sword I will get home and check the cloud saving is enabled. Does it also needs to be enabled in his switch? I hope he can get play my games from his profile. Thank you so much for your help and sorry if I was a little annoying~ Really appreciate it!
@@mayrapacheco3599 Not a problem! But yes, he needs to enable cloud saves and probably download them manually on his Switch to access your save files. He might want to disable automatic uploads so that he doesn't overwrite your saves on the cloud (unless that doesn't bother you). Hope it all works out! 👍
thank you for this! ❤
Say for example: 2 switch Lites both have NES collection. Can two people on two Lites play the same Double Dragon? Contra Collection? F-zero snes?
How?? Me and my wife are buying 2 switches, and I'm trying to figure out how we can play 1 digital copy of a game together online.
what if both online and i played physical game on the 2ndary device will it show error?
No. With physical games, since it's limited to one system at a time naturally, the Switch will not check online to make sure another Switch on your account is playing the same game.
BUT if you have DLC for the physical game and you are playing it on the secondary Switch, it will check online to make sure the DLC can be played.
My second console doesn’t work because it says it needs internet
Cant log one account on both my switches. 😫😭😭
@@htechdance Wasn't that a huge disappointment? I was really impressed with RER1 on 3DS, and was interested in getting 2 on Vita, but the reviews of that port led me to wait for the Switch version to go on sale. I do wish it came in a physical version, though.
@@Level1Sword I actually loved it on the Vita and got a platinum trophy and still own the physical English edition I imported from Asia which is my only Vita game with a paper manual and the only cartridge I ever spent over $50 on. The framerate is not as good, but it is very playable and the only part I ever struggled with was clearing the gauntlet right before the final boss specifically aiming high up w/ or w/o motion to the monsters up high throwing goop on 'No Escape' difficulty.
@@htechdance I still need to get to playing through that game all the way, lol! Hope you like the channel! I've got some Vita-focused videos you might like, too.
Nice trick, AWESOME !!! Thank You
I really have to buy Minecraft twice just so I can play with my brother
Yeah, it doesn't work for online co-op games, unfortunately.
Well you can't use wireless controllers in airplane mode and that sucks since my joycons have drift.
But you can disconnect from (or forget) the wifi network instead of going into airplane mode; that will still let you use wireless controllers 👍
@@Level1Sword Thank you. Im still considering wether I should get a second switch and this is something Ive been wondering about.
@@YaraKoro Not going to lie, it is a bit of a hassle owning two using the same account. Even if you buy all physical games, the Switch will still treat the physical game like a digital one if there is DLC you've purchased for it. The game will still launch, but without access to the DLC if playing on the secondary Switch and the primary Switch is playing a digital version of that game. It's completely not confusing, right?
@@Level1Sword It being very confusion is one of the main reasons why I haven't decided yet.
This is genius
Does this still work?
only works on digital game right
Yup, them's the brakes.
How to link both Nintendo switch lite?
Do you mean doing this with 2 Switch Lites? Sign in on your account on both Switches first through the eShop, then go through through the rest of the steps. Should work just fine.
Can I add my account to my husband switch
Hi morning
Me n my husband have separate accounts, can we add each other to our switches to play games together?
@@babygirlsebastian2215 I'm pretty sure it doesn't work with separate accounts - you would have to buy the same game twice. But if you used the same account you can share games; just be sure to have the primary Switch disconnected from the internet so you can play locally. Let me know if this helps!
Now I can make oled as my primary
But I can’t play local multiplayer .-.
Didn't think to try that. Honestly don't have any local multiplayer digital games.
very helpfull!
🤯 my kids just want to play on a game together😱
If they have a normal Switch that can be docked and connected to a TV (not a Switch Lite), they should be able to play the same game using 2 controllers. If it's online only, you will have to buy as many games as you have Switches.
@@Level1Sword not true. You can have 3 accounts, play with 2nd acc and 3rd acc, but the 3rd acc is also where 1st acc is primary, so you have 2 players aside of host being able to play same game same time online. check out there is better explanation than mine.
@@Clank9996 Hmm, that sounds like you would still have to buy the game more than once. I'll look into it, I'm pretty sure this process has seen some updates since I put up this video.
@@Level1Sword I just tested. 1 switch has 2 accounts, primary and secondary. Primary account is also selected as primary console but i play games on 2nd account. My wife logs in to that primary account on her console, and we play together same game online.
This doesn't work for online games though does it
No, not that I know of. Or cloud-streamed games...
The only reason why I’m still paying Nintendo is because THE GAMES. Other than that everything sucks and SONY is better. Same goes with Xbox, who the hell still uses batteries!? 🤦🏻♂️
I spent 80 bucks on tears of the kingdom thanks
That is soo cool 😎
