I always give a truck a flick of my lights when they need to lane change. Some drivers appreciate it so much they wave back to me. Also as often as I can when I'm on the freeway, and a truck is merging on the onramp, I make sure he can get on safely, buy giving him the space that he needs. Its a little thing, but the driver appreciates it Enjoy the video and if you can get Opie to make your bed as well as his, please lets me know.

I was in trucking back in the 70s, truck drivers were respectful of all drivers out there on the road then! They would stop to help a stranded motorist change a tire or anything to get them going, drivers even wore dress shirts and ties…. Deregulation put A stop to all of that!!

Driving as a Professional always should involve courtesy. It's hard enough with the 4 wheelers cutting you off to make an exit, as they sped up to 85 to catch up and cut you off, to make that exit. I've been out 22 years, medical. But I still give my brothers and Sisters a flash.
But those damn rock haulers !! LOL .

Interesting to see the US version of signals between trucks, I've often wondered about that. Here in Australia, you give a flick of the high beams once the other guy is clear to merge back in. That driver will then give several flicks of his indicators, one side then the other, as he begins his merge.

@BikerTrashDan one of my biggest pet peeves. Look in the mirror to see if I’m clear and BAM!! Total blindness. I don’t understand why this ever became a trend. I’d rather a driver do nothing as hit me with his brights. I’ve got extremely light sensitive eyes, so maybe that’s why, but I can’t understand why guys can’t just do as you suggest. I haven’t known a solitary person in my almost 30 years trucking that hasn’t told me they don’t like bright lights in their mirrors. Why is this still a thing?????

The only reason that I'll use a flick of brights sometimes is all the new cars having daytime running lights. You literally can't tell the difference between dims and just the daytime running lights and there's no point in turning them off and back on because it really doesn't change anything up front. I wouldn't count on anyone seeing the tiny marker lights going on and off. Now, if I'm in my pickup with no daytime running lights then yup, off and back on... Anywho, that was something I was taught as a kid even before I had my license and I continue to use it even now. Stay safe!

You did a video on what it would take and what it cost to be a owner operator. I’ve watched a lot of videos and be honest that was a pretty informative and the most REAL video I’ve seen. Really scary though! I’ve always wanted to drive 18 wheeler across country I thought about a CDL class a license for a long time and the money involved from what you said it takes is a little heartbreaking. I havent checked in my area to see exactly what the schools would cost or anything like that but if it’s anything near what you were talking about just to get a class a CDL and start with even a company is just about out of my reach unfortunately. The bank account was laughing at me when I looked at it earlier. But at least I can still watch you guys out there driving these trucks and who knows one day the truck gods will be in my favor and I’ll pull four aces out of the deck and be able to do what I have been dreaming of for a living. I’m a 47 yo guy who used to deliver auto parts within a 600 mile range from where I lived and I enjoyed every min. But that was in a three-quarter ton truck with a box on the back. I just love to travel and my wife also. She’s also wanting to drive and wants to become team drivers with me one day so as a 45-year-old woman she also has the same dream so it’s nice that I can at least have something we both enjoy and we both can talk about. Either way I enjoy the videos I enjoy watching them and I know I will enjoy the next one you put out so keep them coming. Thanks, Bobby Wright of Florida

Before turn signals and cbs were a thing truckers would, after they had passed another truck, flash their clearance lights to communicate their intentions. One flash and they were going to stay passing, two flashes I am coming back into our lane. The other driver would flash headlights that it was safe to come back into the common lane. I ran a 1957 KW 262 Cummins turned up with a10 speed, stretched aluminum frame back in the 70s. I miss the sound of that engine. Straight stacks and T500 turbo music to my ears and soul.

Porter greetings! 😎 Trucker Talk is Good! 🤩 I was always taught that you turn your headlights off briefly to inform a driver it’s ok to come over & never to flash your high beams. Then I always flash my 4 ways when I pull over in front, even if they don’t flash me, no mater what I’m driving. I can understand why she likes it when a trucker flashes his lights at her. It’s called…Communication.🤩 Do most of the other drivers at your company own or drive Volvos? I would look at the height of the trailers to see how they were positioned compared to each other. You can tell when a trailer is really jacked low or high. Most of the trucks I’ve driven didn’t really have air bags so they were about the same height. Some drivers would prefer to jack them up high no matter what…I’ve only missed the kingpin one time, but it required me to work hard in getting passed it and away from the trailer. No wrecker or any damage to the back of the cab/sleeper. Whew! 😳 Good stuff! 🥰😎✌️

We had that big orange ball union 76 . I ran Brachs candy out of Chicago to Edison NJ or General Mills out of St. Charles Illinois to Toledo and Fostoria Ohio and Buffalo NY .There was not a lot of regional freight most freight was east coast out of Chicago were I lived . When the air is cold it doesn't hold any moisture. When it's warm molecules expand and holds moisture then gets cold and it releases the moisture, the air temp at that point determines snow or rain. Tempurature changes at different pressures and when a low point comes threw temp usually gets colder releasing the moisture.

I can even play dvd's on it if I hook it to a monitor. its nice for only 25 bucks for the head unit. 200 for an amp and 150 for the subs. I usually just use the stock speakers for the midrange and highs along with an 80 watt amp i got free. In trade school, I won 3rd place in a subwoofer (bass) contest. lol
