I get it. When i can't sleep there's a you tube video with 10 hours of an idling 3406 b I put on. Puts me right out. Glad the star got his cheeseburger. 😊
Mike, German Shepherds are known to have hip displacement when they get older. It might be his personality, but the medicine won’t hurt him if he doesn’t have bad hips.
Kurt you are a class act supporting your kids and their school. You do a lot to help out. Those banners were a very nice gesture. You just don't get to hang them out for nothing. That was a nice donation. 👌
Those train engineers were just trying to whistle you to sleep in your log cabin. 😄 Excellent with the banners to support your community. That is really cool.
Love that smile when you took time to show us how you support the local school teams and town recreations Kurt! A well deserved smile Sir! As I've stated in the past, you Sir are a great example of America! Small town, big city it doesn't matter for YOU are a fine example of a good parent who goes 5he extra mile to support and nurture his offspring, while helping other young future americans... Be proud Sir, like Troy and Tater should be of their parents! Taking time to see Tater perform, Troy run track and football, Tater play volleyball and still drive for 5he music dept when needed is outstanding! Uber MOM and DAD should be proud on how their upbringing of YOU, has molded YOU into a great DAD! Lets not forget that behind every KURT their is a great women behind him. Thanks for the great content always and I apoligize for being long-winded, but sincere! Gilbert Alicea from NYC ❤
When APU's first hit the market, I saw the advantage. Talked with my travel agent (dispatcher) and said every truck should have these. He replied that it would be too expense to mount these on the fleet. I replied the savings would be worth 2 years of using them for the company. When the company finally realized the net worth of the APU's, I reminder my travel agent of our conversation. He finally admitted I was way ahead of the curve with my statement. When my truck finally received one I talked to the mechanics to make sure that my heated fuel tanks, lights, heated engine block and the heated fuel tank on my trailer were all wired up to the APU. Not only did I have creature comforts supplied but also the truck, trailer, engine, and fuel lines were covered. Like I said earlier, 2 years of operating an APU paid for itself. So time for you to step up and give that Cat a break!
That return on investment you're talking about is only realistic if you were to idle the truck every day. Which is not realistic. So, at least double the time for your ROI. Then it doesn't make a lot of sense to some people. One size does NOT fit all.
Schmidt enjoy your videos! You are wholesome, not complaining. I've watched other trucker videos and come back to yours-wholesome and fun to watch! I pray the LORD continues to watch over you and Opie on your travels and also blessings to your family! 😊😇
Kurt, you are a great family man, father and all around good person, you have a great family that supports your career🥰 Keep the videos coming and maybe we will see you in a truck stop in our travels👌
That answered my previous question perfectly, Kurt! Thank you! And, I agree- your solitude during break-time is well worth a half gallon an hour! That’s the price of Safety! 👍
Hello, I don't have time to watch all your videos one by one unfortunately. It makes watching you fill me with peace during my weekend breaks from work. greetings from Europe.
I totally agree. Sometimes you just need a space with no intrusion from the outside world. Some day I would love to spend some time in Texas and Oklahoma just watching the storms in that vast expanse. I get that feeling of solitude seeing it through your windshield. I'm very happy you are able to do good things for your community. Safe travels, and God bless.
Like the part of the video backing up to connect to the trailer especially the part where the camera is positioned behind the sleeper unit of the tractor
WOW thats awsome banner...we were on vacationing in IOWA, NEBRASKA, KANSAS,&OKLAHOMA and its truly an amazing part of our country that doesn't get much attention
Hi Kurt & Opie. Great vlog. Thank you for taking us along. We love your channel. You do great things for your family & community. Thank you for getting the goods to us. Those signs are awesome. Brought tears of happiness to my eyes. ⚾️🥎🚛🇺🇲💕😉👍🏼
I totally understand the introvert and solitude statement as I am an introvert. Don't care for crowds or group events, clubs etc. . I drove for 25 yrs, owned 2 different rigs with different carriers. Left it for a state job with retirement. But I still miss the road at almost 68 yrs of age. I still consider going back out there. Maybe it will happen, maybe not. I enjoy being home, love my wife and her cooking, but I miss the road.
I don’t mind the ambient noise, everyone needs to stay comfortable. feel the same way when I fire up my loud APU! 😂 I either park by myself or look for a reefer to back next to.
exactly ! those APU's are at least as bad as a reefer, or idling truck for noise. I would say, MORE annoying than an idling truck or reefer because the exhaust is low and smell. (I tend to sleep with the windows on a crack and the bunk windows wide open).
I got to enjoy that peace and quiet for almost three years, living in my grandparents house while I was rebuilt my house. It was destroyed by a tornado May 28th 2004.The house was 9th of a mile off the main road plus cross a creek to pull up in the yard. All you hear is the creek running and the frogs chirping. It was paradise on earth !!!
There are plenty of RUclipss of sound effects to mask noise. Rain, trains, trucks, buses, winter storms, combinations of the above. Get some good Bluetooth speakers and connect to your phone or laptop. Or get a device that does it on its own. My neighbors are a GS rescuer and they use one to calm the dogs.
That's awesome you can help sponsor both fields! I use to haul fuel and the big chain truck stops start using more bio when it warms up,2 kinds of bio, animal fat and vegetable, animal fat is generally cheaper and it can give you the most problems, they use at least 20 percent if not more!
I happened to be looking up at my TV when those first ads stopped, and your video started. I heard the train horn and thought what the heck? Did I start a Jaw Tooth video?! LOL It was great video Kurt and you showed again what a good guy you are. Keep on truckin! 👍👍💯🇺🇸
I really appreciate you and the content you provide. You keep it real. There's thousands of truck channels on RUclips to follow. I follow about five because its hard for me to follow stupid. What I have noticed is the ones I follow have mentioned you and you have mentioned them and always in a positive way. We are members of a part of trucking that barely exists anymore the part where we still enjoy what we do. Thank you for doing what you do.
I'm retired now but I always idled the truck to sleep. I wanted both the engine noise, mild vibration and, of course, the A/C. If the A/C wasn't needed, I found that a white noise app on my phone was an adequate substitute for the engine noise. Of course, I rarely slept in truck stops - lost too many fenders over the years.
When I pulled reefers, I set them to continuous rather than cycle. White noise while I slept. If I didn't, I would wake up like a shot every time they shut off.
From the time i was 4 to around 16, i fell asleep better than 50% of the time to the purring of a kitty. I recently discovered a youtube recording of an idling truck and one of a moving truck, both putting me to sleep like a baby as well as bringing back fond memories.
Is nice to be appreciated Your small town makes a difference, they all know who you are, specially in your kids school. Thats nice that you can afford to give to your community 🥰👋
Love my little cabin. I appreciate the time you take to do these videos. You're awesome Kurt and your family that's why I watch. By the way this company drive carries a loaded tool box, filters, fuses, lights and belts. I refuse to sit and wait for a service truck. You and Opie truck it safe 😎
Thanking you for showing what trucking used to be about. I have a passion for it but my moral has been down. It's good to see you help another driver. Be safe out there and as you say avoid the drama
Hello Kurt. Like your channel. Keep up the good work. I don't mind the talking,we as truckers have a lot off time to think about while we driving. Greetings from the other side off the ocean, the Netherlands
Was in an auto body shop waiting for a estimate and a body shop guy came out of the back walking me, "Hey like your shirt" same one that is on the fence only smaller, pretty cool huh, some full moon driving will help that cabin in the wind right now. Stay smooth..
Bad fuel in the area. Good job helping the man out. I haven't had bad fuel in my diesel pick ups since I don't know when. But I change the filters every 5000 miles (5 months on my primary driver).
Street sweeper in Onowa Iowa: we have 1 here in Longview TX but they only do spot sweeps for spill events.People for the most part keep our streets clean.
My little dog sits up on his back leg and puts his front paws together and waves up and down waiting for the snack or scrap of food I give him and I would pull in a parking spot when I could that way I didn't wake any one great video keep up the good work God bless from GA and stay safe
Kurt sir if you think about it your truck outside your cab (as cool looking as it is )sounds loud to other truck drivers as there sleeping or relaxing.
When it comes to sleeping in the truck, you make it quiet and I am awake. At home I have a ceiling fan and a box fan running when we sleep. If the power goes off, I instantly wake up. In the truck sleeper, I would have no problem sleeping with either the CAT running or a APU. But best of all, a good steady rain all night and I would not wake up.
I get it. When i can't sleep there's a you tube video with 10 hours of an idling 3406 b I put on. Puts me right out. Glad the star got his cheeseburger. 😊
All dogs have their own personality, but I love how Opie sits/stands while he eats the cheeseburger.
Mike, German Shepherds are known to have hip displacement when they get older. It might be his personality, but the medicine won’t hurt him if he doesn’t have bad hips.

Kurt you did something very few truck drivers do anymore nice to see some people still look out for each other on the roads.
I'm just disappointed a wrestling match didn't break out right there on the shoulder.
Your truck isn't the only things that's "First Class" Kurt. It's a pleasure being able to support your channel.

Luv the sound of straight pipes on the LARGECARS!!!!!!!😎🇺🇸🔊🔊🔊🔊🔊🔊🔊🎯

I want an APU for my day cab so I can run a toaster on the passenger seat.
Schmidt enjoy your videos! You are wholesome, not complaining. I've watched other trucker videos and come back to yours-wholesome and fun to watch! I pray the LORD continues to watch over you and Opie on your travels and also blessings to your family! 😊😇
I really enjoyed the little cabin story! you hit the nail on the head with that one!
Kurt, you are a great family man, father and all around good person, you have a great family that supports your career🥰 Keep the videos coming and maybe we will see you in a truck stop in our travels👌
That turbo sounds happy and healthy!!!
800 rpm is the ultimate white noise
That answered my previous question perfectly, Kurt! Thank you! And, I agree- your solitude during break-time is well worth a half gallon an hour! That’s the price of Safety! 👍
I definitely know what you mean firing the truck up, complete cabin home and relax
Hello, I don't have time to watch all your videos one by one unfortunately. It makes watching you fill me with peace during my weekend breaks from work. greetings from Europe.
That TWS banner came out lookin real good!!!
That was sweet! Very nice banners! Opie looks like he still has a little limp. Another cheese burger might help! 😂

Driving down those two lanes than greenery landscape the spring brought looks beautiful. Now I want a cabin.
My old boy loves lying around on the grass for hours
He’s 10 and getting slower
He looks so happy though when he’s out on the lawn

Thanks nice.vedio
Great videos , from a retired truck driver
From the time i was 4 to around 16, i fell asleep better than 50% of the time to the purring of a kitty. I recently discovered a youtube recording of an idling truck and one of a moving truck, both putting me to sleep like a baby as well as bringing back fond memories.

Hi Mr Schmidt it's all about you like your videos I'm from SOUTH AFRICA 🇿🇦
When it comes to sleeping in the truck, you make it quiet and I am awake. At home I have a ceiling fan and a box fan running when we sleep. If the power goes off, I instantly wake up.
