@@Nimanambe welcome sis
What kind of milk powder did you cause I get a lot of non dairy milk powder and I’m trying to learn how to make yogurt then make cream cheese from the yogurt
Non dairy milk will not work, I used dano
Can we use whole liquid milk ?
Yes please
Did you boil it because it was powdered milk you use
No please, I boiled it because I needed to kill any germs that might be in there.so if you are using liquid you will have to boil too
Then we can use this one to make greek yogurt right? And how does it taste?
This can be used to make your first batch of yogurt, but it will have the lemon flavour in it.then it can be used for Greek yogurt
How can it be checked?
Hello, thanks for the video but I have a question, when u added d lemon juice immediately did some crumbs appear?
No please, you have to let the milk become lukewarm before adding the lemon juice
@@Nimanambe lemme explain a little, when I made my starter this morning following ur recipe before I kept it in a warm place for 15hrs(still counting tho) when I added d lemon juice to the lukewarm mixture& stir it started to u know have little crumble because of d lemon juice I added.
@@Nimanambe so does it mean it won't come out well?
Please what type of milk did you use? Can't say 💯,but it might work.
@@Nimanambe I used peak milk
Can I use lime instead of lemon?
You can,but lime is kinda a little stronger than lemon,so please reduced the quantity if using lime.take note,I have not used lime before.thanks please subscribe, and watch my other video which I made yogurt without starter.thanks
Pls should I allow the milk to boil very well
No,as soon as it starts to boil you take it off the heat
looks like yogurt to me. Can you make it with milk instead of powder??
Yes please you can use whole liquid milk
@@Nimanambe
Can we use skimmed milk as well
@@Nimanambe can I use skimmed milk as well?
Thank you so much for sharing. My question : am in Nigeria and used the green lemon not lime then left my culture for more than 16 hours. Hope still good.
It is not supposed to be more than 16 hours without being in the fridge.none the less when it spoils you will notice that starter is watery and also has bad smell
@@Nimanambe yes I put in my whole lemon and left for 24hrs, the starter got spoilt and the lemon was already smelling.i still went ahead to make my yoghurt with it and everything is a mess
@@inyamajoy7934 aww sorry dear
Where in Nigeria are you. I'm in Abuja and I make yoghurt all the time. About to make another batch now, but I use live culture.
@@VicToria-sd1dnpls how do u get live culture?
How much starter needed when making a 1 liter milk yogurt? Thank u.
Just two tbs of yogurt starter is ok for a litre of milk
Ma I think the lemon is too much what can i add to it
I appreciate your question, please just add a little amount of boiled milk,to reduce the acidity of the lemon
@@Nimanambe okay ma thanks so much ❤️
Can I use vinegar for this?
Sorry I am afraid it will turn to cheese if you use vinegar
Is there a life culture in this
Yes sure it does,I used it to make a very delicious batch of yogurt.thanks for watching
What is the starter use for?
It is used in making the yogurt proper.it contains those enzyme that ferment yogurt.please watch my other video of how to use it for yogurt.

Isn't this spoiled milk made in curd or cheese? Is this really a starter?
Please it is not spoiled milk,I used this same starter for a batch of yogurt, please you can check that out.
@@Nimanambe oh!ok. Thanks for explaining, I'll check it out and try it
I think milk must at lukewarm state otherwise milk will curdle coz mix with acid from lemon right?
What is the purpose of boiling the milk please?
To get rid of bad bacteria that might be in the milk
How long can the starter stay in fridge?
