- Let me repeat - I am not affiliated nor am I compensated for this video. I'm just a satisfied customer. I have been experimenting with different ways to use the instant milk powder I receive every month in the senior commodity box. When I happened upon the Cultures for Health website claiming a very simple - non-cooking tabletop yogurt - I was ecstatically happy. I just HAD to give it a try. I need extra milk for the calcium but milk contains lots of sugar. Milk in large quantities is not really good for a diabetic. Yogurt enzymes consume the sugar in milk leaving the good stuff which is good and healthy.
I included the link to their website below but only because they have videos describing how to make the tabletop yogurt. They explain it so much better than I ever could. I make the Villi (5200) yogurt using the instant milk. It turns out liquidly and drinkable. I usually make 6 pints a week. Five for eating and one as the next starter.

Hey Ms Anita. This is oldfashionmama. I have used powdered milk for yogurt but never at room temp. I have always used a cooler with warm water. I will try this! Thank you.

I have instant non-fat powered milk by Mountain Made. Can you use any brand?
I don't know about other brands because I get government senior commodities so that's the brand I use. I figured I had nothing to lose by giving it a try and it worked.
I forgot to say if you order it online be sure you use the first time buyer code otherwise the cost of shipping will be higher than the cost of the starter. The code only works on the first order. I believe this starter is also sold at walmart.
How long will this last in the fridge?
A week. These days I only make one pint a week because the grands are not here as often.
