Don't mind the fps drops in the video because I recorded with Oculus Mirror which effects FPS A LOT. You wont notice any lag and drops while playing it. The info in video is correct. Sometimes a setting will try to upscale image. I had that issue on a 4090 i couldnt playing iracing. Reset open xr settings and gpu. If your on oculus run virtual desktop open xr
güzel video olmuş. bilmeyen arkadaşlar epey faydasını görür. teşekkürler
Teşekkür ederim✌️
Great video, one of the best looking VR sessions in iRacing I have seen. I have a question, what does the steam VR portion do? I’m just a little confused on why that is necessary.
Thank you :) For the steam part, honestly I don't remember :) probably openxr mode didn't work as intended and I choose the steamvr in OpenComposite selection. But you're right, I should have selected OpenComposite and skip the steam sections
@@Kapo_Racing all good, thank you for replying. I think a lot of the visual effects that are making your session look amazing is due to the color edits inside open XR. But I might be wrong.
@TPA_JW exactly. Also I record this race using oculus mirror and used the stabilizer. That's why it looks very smooth. Glad you like it!
great vidéo, with rtx4080 i can i use supersampling 1.5 in occulus app and résolution overdrive in openxr, i never use CAS because it cause some slowdowns and i préfère upgrade résolution
Thanks for watching :) yeah you can increase the pixel density with the 4080 that's the right thing to do
You are probably forgetting about something here.
I'm using HP Reverb G2, followed every step you've described here and the game is so slow that it either crashes or runs at 20-30 fps.
I'm an oculus user and watched the video again if I missed something but no. Make sure you set the pixel density to 1.0 in Steam VR and also in your reverb settings(I'm not a reverb user but that should be possible)
The problem must be the pixel density is too high in your settings that it crashes or giving too low fps
@@Kapo_Racing Thanks!
Will check that and let you know.
@@Kapo_Racing unfortunately can't find that option neither on steam VR options or on windows mixed reality (where Reverb G2 runs).
Then it must be steamvr settings. I show it in the video maybe missed it and you need to start from the beginning. What's your GPU BTW?
@@Kapo_Racing I replicated all the steps. It could be something just working for Quest. I have a 4070 Ti.
none of the programs show up in the openxr toolkit for me
What's your headset? Make sure you follow the instructions correctly and don't miss any step
Think you’ll ever upgrade to the quest 3 or is the 2 plenty good enough? Just bought a quest 2 and I’m starting to think I should’ve waited to get a 3.
I haven't tried q3 so I can't compare it but I'm very very happy with the q2. Unless I try and see the difference - if any, I won't change it to q3. Enjoy your q2, it's a very good headset!
Huge difference guys, come on 😂
Really? I want to upgrade to Quest 3 but I want to know if it's worth the price
lol, I got the quest 3 and then Returned both headsets and just switched to triple 27’ screens. I just can’t get used to the way vr looks. It’s not clear enough for me.
@@Kapo_Racing I will say, things in the distance are much much sharper with the quest 3. It’s much easier to identify brake points and look through corners. Did it make me any faster? No. I found I’m faster with screens anyways compared to vr. Another thing to note is the quest 3 is harder to run. I’d say if you’re happy with your performance and clarity then stick with what you’ve got. If it ain’t broke don’t fix it. The only reason I tried the quest 3 was because I hated things looking blurry and I still had that issue even after the upgrade. So I ultimately just figured I’d like monitors better and that’s what’s been working for me.
in the white box i see no options to select or not. Its the beginning of the tutorial so I dont know what could I be doing wrong :(
You mean in the openxr toolkit? If you can't see iRacing exe try to run the game normally then restart the toolkit
How do you capture to have such good fps. Mirror? What settings? Its driving me insane. I have even the launch commands and it records with black borders when i look left or right
Yes If I remember correctly I recorded with oculus mirror. You need to tweak smoothing option and window in the obs to get rid of that black border
I see that the recording is from the monitor screen, can you record what you see in the glasses with some program so that you can see the quality?
Unfortunately I don't know how to do that. Maybe phone camera works? I'll try to make a short video ✌🏼️
Do you have an idea how to get racing overlay in vr like kapps or racelab?
I never tried that but there's an option in racelab itself. Search for racelab vr I'm sure you can find useful information
ioverlay is great for vr
Wow I didn't know that it supports vr. Thank you!
hello, i have riacing not via steam, i buy it from website, how to make it work? thanks
Try skipping steamvr steps and select openxr on OpenComposite.exe and it should be ok. Please let me know if it works
Could R7 5800x3d with a 4060 and 32gb have decent performance in these simrace? ACC, Iracing.. with quest 2
5800x3d is more than enough but I have no idea about 4060. If it's bring same performance as 3070 I'd say you will be on the limit especially in acc. In iRacing I don't think you'll have issues. If you play ac or ams2 you won't have any issues
@@Kapo_Racing tkss !
I played for a while with a 3060ti and an i5 11600k, managing to maintain FPS between 72 and 90 with everything set to low except for the quality of the cars, which was set to maximum, and using balanced resolution scaling.
Now I have a 4070 Super and I upscale by 125%, without needing to use resolution scaling, I maintain 90fps with almost everything set to maximum. Still, I use it in quality or balanced mode, and I can go up to 150% and still maintain 90fps.
I use the Link cable, so do I need to use Steam VR?
I also use link cable. In this tutorial you need steamvr
@@Kapo_Racing OK. Thanks.
@@Kapo_Racing what if you dont use steam for iracing ?
Well I guess you can still use steamvr even if you don't have iRacing in steam library. Just install steamvr in steam and it should work. If not, try to add iRacing to steam library through add non steam game option and there's an option (I don't know the exact name but it's like show this game in steamvr) and you're good to go. Good luck and let me know if you can do it
