Yeah unfortunately it's not the best vr experience for sure. But I enjoy it even with a more blurry image compared to ams2. Its great to be in a F1 car anyway:)

Hello, I had the same issue with one computer and tried pretty much everything it didn't change. When I upgrade my PC for a more recent one, it stopped, however if I push too much the resolution in the quest it could crash randomly. I think unfortunatly the game isn't developed for VR, it's just a feature they had too say " yes you can run it in VR" but on F1 23 they made no improvement on it over the year.

What is your power supply? I had the same issue with the another game and I found it was the power supply

I have to disagree with you. I play all the sims out there and acc is not that bad. It's a mistake that people commonly do is comparing 10+ yrs old games vs acc in a not vr friendly unreal engine. This game needs a beefy computer even just to play on a single monitor. What I'm trying to do is finding a sweet spot to enjoy it. I personally enjoy it a lot because I don't compare it with the ac or iRacing. Even when I compare it, it's actually not that bad at all.. Also I recorded with post prosessing on, so shadows were applied. I couldn't see that but it must be a bug or something

Give it a go. I feel like this one is better both visual and performance wise. Also better when I streaming. Try it and let me know which one is better :)

@@Kapo_Racing I don't think it's worth it. The game looks slightly better for me in the old setup. And runs well enough that I can't tell much performance boost. on Ryzen 5 5600x 3070Ti 64Gb RAM

@@Kapo_Racing Been doing a thourough test on both settings to match up the stats. There are boost in FPS for sure but for some reason I just get a cleaner look in ACC on the old setup. And with plenty FPS at that I just decided to use the old one. It looked more right to me when all was in play. full grid of cars, going 300 km/h in any weather.

@R83TV that's interesting. This one looks better and performance is more stable for me. Maybe cpu makes the difference? Idk. But that's cool at least the old one works for you:)

Well, honestly I don't like to see black bars in my VR view and 72 to 90hz really makes a huge difference for me. I understand your point of getting a more crisp visuals by setting a sharpness to normal in debug tool but in game 250 is too much imo. That way you apply 3 sharpness filter( oculus,openxr and in game) Of course if you're happy and getting stable fps, it's the best setting :) Thanks for the feedback!

@@Kapo_Racing You are good to go with 90Hz because you don't multiply pixel per eye. Take it to 72Hz and pixel per eye to 2 in debug tool and after we speak :) You are right for black bars. They are not for everyone. You must used to use helmet for it. I am motorcycle driver so i used to see blacks around. But creates huge difference to clarity.

It's kinda blurry compared to iRacing, Assetto Corsa or Ams2 but it's fun to drive. I think f1 24 feel better performance wise in VR. I made a video for the settings and I will release it Monday

5800x3d is a beast. You will get more fps especially at the start of the race and in the pits. I highly recommend it

Yeah it's fun indeed but in Monaco it's also scary. I can't believe how this guys drive it in real life for 73 laps. Just impossible not to touch the walls and wreck the car

Thank you :) For the steam part, honestly I don't remember :) probably openxr mode didn't work as intended and I choose the steamvr in OpenComposite selection. But you're right, I should have selected OpenComposite and skip the steam sections

@@Kapo_Racing all good, thank you for replying. I think a lot of the visual effects that are making your session look amazing is due to the color edits inside open XR. But I might be wrong.

@TPA_JW exactly. Also I record this race using oculus mirror and used the stabilizer. That's why it looks very smooth. Glad you like it!

I was in the beta test. Honestly, driving was much worse. Visually it's almost the same as this year. I noticed smokes in VR if you lock up your tyres. I tried to launch it via openxr but no luck sadly. My early access starts in May 28. Let's hope they can fix the issues and we can use openxr this year

@@Kapo_Racing vision is mixed between what both your left and right eyes can see, both eyes can see around the halo. try pointing your finger upwards in front of your nose and moving it towards yourself, you’ll notice at a certain distance that you can still see everything in front of you despite your finger being in the way.

Yeah that's what I also see in VR headset while driving. You can see the halo is there but it's not distracting. Unfortunately we can't record from both eyes on vr that's why it's more visible on recording. But in my opinion it would be more unrealistic if I make it unvisible. We can see the halo in visor camera in broadcasts anyways. Thanks for the feedback!

Hello. Yes my f1 experience is very smooth. I shared a settings video few months ago you can use it. Just to add to that settings, I don't remember the exact name but it's like "turn on dynamic resolution?". It's in the video settings in game. Turn it on and you won't feel and stutter anymore. My specs are cpu 5800x3d gpu 3070 32gb ram windows 11 quest 2

Hello thanks for the answer , i try your settings and its work fine with the dynamic resolution on. I have just a stutering at each 10sec. On the steam vr frame rate the graphics is all green and stable but have a red line at each 10-15 second. Did you already have this issue?

@Jean-FrancoisDrapeau Yes I have to same issue but It's around 5 secs. I think it's related to cpu and game tries to loading scene. I don't care that to be honest as long as game runs smoothly :)

I play all of them. It's not horrible. It's just not that looking good as ac. Pc2 and ams2 does look decent but shadows are terrible and driving wise they are really bad.. Can't say the same thing for AC, which looks and feels better than ACC that's for sure

@@Kapo_Racing Assetto Corsa is the best for VR in my opinion, great physics and looks. ACC has oversaturated color, horribly demanding graphics, I use a 3090 with 32gb ram I7 11700K and my pc suffers to run it. Not optimised for VR at all.

Yeah I agree with that. AC is the best vr racing game but still acc is playable with my settings and I enjoy driving it in vr

It was broken but not anymore. It's smooth as ac or iracing after the updates. Don't know what did they do but it's really smooth right now.

You must be skipping some of the steps(probably first step) Make sure your oculus settings are same as in the video. It sounds like your pixel density is too high for your GPU to handle and crashes your game. I have no issues and gameplay is super smooth with my settings. I still use the same settings with my 3070. What's your GPU and cpu BTW?

Yes. It's still performs good but I'm planning to make a new video with the upgraded settings soon

Never set your fps to 72 in F1. Game runs super smooth with the 90 fps

It depends on the game and headset you have you can try the original Asseto Corsa for ACC you need at lest 6800xt.

Yeah, I absolutely agree with you! Once you race in VR, you never want to go back to monitors

What's your GPU and cpu? 10 fps with this settings are impossible unless you miss some step. I get constant +90fps in a race with the 3080ti and even with a 3070
