    Instead of beating it apart you could've jerk the steering wheel it helps wiggle the two rods apart or try jacking the tire instead of having all the weight off of the tire

    Hi I have a 97 Ford F150 and I was doing the inner tie rod on my front I did manage to get the tie rod end out of the holding bar but then I had a hard time getting the jam nut off of the tie rod in the old tie rod end I had to put it in a vise and then I could not get the Jam nut to go onto the new tie rod end I'm thinking that I could get a screw from the hardware screw might be metric give me a comment if you can, and I have yet to see if the new tie rod end will fit in the sleeve give me a comment back if you can thanks

    Do u have to do both sides or just the side that is damaged?

    • @1AAuto
      @1AAuto  5 лет назад +2

      +Kyle Powell You can do just the one side but it is best to replace both at the same time so there is even wear and you don't have to go in to have it replaced again.

      We currently do not have an auto repair video specific to your vehicle's year. You might be able to apply some of the basic steps shown in this video to your application. +Eric Berry

      Yes they have similar steering systems. Not saying the parts are interchangeable but similar style.

    I would clean it first and then proceed with the work, a lot of grease everywhere.
