Ball joint separator tool works awesome for getting stuck tie rods out.
Instead of beating it apart you could've jerk the steering wheel it helps wiggle the two rods apart or try jacking the tire instead of having all the weight off of the tire
Nice to see someone else believes in Kenda. Those Klever M/T's are great! And a great price!
Do you guys have a videio or could you do one for the 04-08s? Thanks so much you're vids have helped me out alot
+GroovemasterOdin Here's a link to the tie rod ends that we sell for your F150 and also an auto repair video that should help you with the repair. www.1aauto.com/2008-ford-f150-truck-tie-rods-and-adjusting-sleeves/y-mo-c/2008-1521-184?RUclips&CTA%20Comment&
Hi I have a 97 Ford F150 and I was doing the inner tie rod on my front I did manage to get the tie rod end out of the holding bar but then I had a hard time getting the jam nut off of the tie rod in the old tie rod end I had to put it in a vise and then I could not get the Jam nut to go onto the new tie rod end I'm thinking that I could get a screw from the hardware screw might be metric give me a comment if you can, and I have yet to see if the new tie rod end will fit in the sleeve give me a comment back if you can thanks
Both sides are the same process?
Torque specs for the tie rod ends not needed or ?
What type of grease is used to put in tie rod with zerk fitting?
+ThaHandyman1212 Hello, and thanks for watching. Any chassis grease will do the job, and can be purchased at any auto part store! www.1aauto.com/tie-rod-front-pair/i/1asfk00451?RUclips&CTA+Comment&P6M5-C_Y
I have the inner tie rod bolt stuck in the center link I had to cut the tie rod end off ... do you have any idea how to drill though that bolt
Not that it would help now but check my recent comment also try the heating with a torch method
Do u have to do both sides or just the side that is damaged?
+Kyle Powell You can do just the one side but it is best to replace both at the same time so there is even wear and you don't have to go in to have it replaced again.
Just the side that is loose everything supposed to tight under there
Is this the same for 02 crown Vic
We currently do not have an auto repair video specific to your vehicle's year. You might be able to apply some of the basic steps shown in this video to your application. +Eric Berry
Yes they have similar steering systems. Not saying the parts are interchangeable but similar style.
Will a bad tie rod cause shaking while driving
Check your spark plugs.
Yes it will, but it can also be from tires being unbalanced.
Yes
Did you leave off the boot
the 97 to 2003 don't have a boot.
I would clean it first and then proceed with the work, a lot of grease everywhere.
+Olena Erhardt Thanks for the tip!
you absolutely did damage to the other components in the steering by hitting it that way
I don't have a torch and I'm stuck😩
Is that adjustable wrench SAE or metric? heheheheeh
Haha reminds me of the old send the new guy to find a 22½mm socket.
beating on and heating steering parts is not the proper method
cotter pins are for bozos
