@darrellperez1029 i know, but there's so much info Joe Heschmeyer mentions that completely destroys the idea of the church being money grabbers or squeezing life savings from peasants, he also mentions that the poor could contribute and get an indulgence by praying if they lacked the finances.
@darrellperez1029 Yes his approval of indulgences was in his thesis , what he was against was the selling of indulgences and the abuse of them. Luther believe that if indulgences were granted for donating or paying for them it would make Christian’s think they could buy forgiveness.

Another canon argument that I’ve become interested in is how undecided it was all the way up to its solemn dogmatizing at Trent. While yes we have many regional councils and even ecumenical councils prior to Trent that corroborate the Catholic canon, we can still see disputes over certain books through history even with cardinal Cajetan in the 16th century. This indicates that the canon was not so big an issue for most Christians that the church had to define it, because they had the church to teach sound doctrine. If Sola Scriptura was the paradigm, we should expect to see the canonizing of scripture far earlier in history and far more solemnly, but we don’t.
Remember it was the Jews that rejected the Apocrypha from the old testament first. Then it was tested verse by verse against the rest of the Bible. And found to not be inspired by God.

What does the selling of indulgences have to do with how the bible was put together? His video just went completely anti-catholic bc its not a genuine video about the bible. You know what I think is so interesting? When we start having the debate with protestants about the bible or authority somehow we always start discussing Luther (whether its protestants or Catholics) as if Luther is their "authority". Seems to me whether protestants like or or not they look to Luther as an authority and if they don't they still have an authority at their church whether its a pastor, elders, a board, etc. So why are only Catholics badgered about authority? 🤔 I would LOVE videos over what each of the counsels taught.
If I could be charitable as possible, he wanted to set up historical context for the reformation where the paradigm shifted to the 66 book canon (in his view). Of course one would hope there would be better reflection on the history after "months of research"
@Baelon_the_Bold1 You can refute Sola Scriptura from the Bible. Jesus did not believe in it. He says you must follow the teachings of the Pharisees (but not what they do because they are hypocrites) because they sit in the Seat of Moses. The Seat of Moses isn't in the Old Testament. Also Jesus went to the feast of Dedication of the temple which started in 2 Maccabees.
Catholics IMPLY people look to Luther. Christians look to Chirt, that is the dividing line, which is why arguments out of context are chosen by this individual. You didn't creat, nor do you have any authority to compile or certify any canon. Catholics follow a bloody church and a false apostle who they call father, and they pray to saints and Marys.. and nothing will ever help them hurdle that. They ARE the Roman Collegium of Pontiffs. Pagans who use Christ's name. They give authority to men, because they seek to have their own in the world they love so much.

I sometimes get frustrated from all of the lies and false accusations protestants and others hurl at the Catholic church. Then, I derive comfort from it, because I'm reminded that Jesus told us we would be hated: John 15:18-20 18 “If the world hates you, know that it has hated me before it hated you. 19 If you were of the world, the world would love its own; but because you are not of the world, but I chose you out of the world, therefore the world hates you. 20 Remember the word that I said to you, ‘A servant is not greater than his master.’ If they persecuted me, they will persecute you; if they kept my word, they will keep yours also. It affirms to me that the Catholic church is the only true church, because it is being persecuted like her Lord was. 🙏⛪️✝️

I don’t believe in the intercession thing either. Why conform to a modern religion? You and I, we believe in the scripture and that God will reveal to us what is true. What we need to do is get out there and spread the gospel.
I was an evangelical before studying history now I'm a Catholic catachumen. All I can say is keep researching, thats the Holy spirit leading you to Christs church, the Catholic church. I can relate to the hesitancy about Mary and the saints and recommend praying the rosary. What you will likely find is that praying with Mary will only bring you closer to Jesus (the rosary is all about Him). Also reading the books from the bible that the protestants removed helped change my mind.

His crimes included offering the cup to the laity, educating women, translating the Bible into Czech and preaching "faith alone".

As what was shown in this clip, the only written ones were the old testament, during the time of the early church fathers, new testament wasn't written but are oral traditions and lessons.
Way to tear this protestant argument to shreds Alex! Also the division of Torah, Writings and Prophets in the Jewish Tanak doesn't fully surface until about 900 AD and even then their division doesn't match the modern Jewish Tanak.
From my understanding many of the Jews that held to other text other than the Masoretic Text tended to convert to Christianity a main reason they rejected other texts in the Tanakh.
Whoever invented Tanach was clearly anti-Christian and took the opportunity to completely redefine Judaism. If you use this book as an excuse to justify Luther, you will also become an anti-Christ.
@darrellperez1029Talmud, which is part of the Tanakh, was inspired by the "Holy Spirit" Devil to write the tradition and become the new law that would change the one passed by Moses and invented a new Judaism invented by humans. which is nothing more than spreading hatred against Christians.

When it comes to Protestants its a case of, “what came first, the chicken or the egg”, THE CHURCH OR THE BIBLE? If they can ever figure that out we can all move on.
Also indulgences weren’t exactly bad either. They were also cheap for that time too. Extremely cheap. And even said that if you had nothing to offer just go into prayer and whether u bought and indulgence or not you had to make a mini pilgrimage. And if you couldn’t you would be assisted in your situation. The church was and always has been very providing.
Jesus participated in the feast of the dedication which is Hanukkah. The Protestant Bible makes no reference of Hanukkah. How do they reconcile this with Sola Scriptura? Also, when the Sadducees challenge Jesus with the woman who married seven brothers which likely draws its inspiration from Tobit.

With the context of the theses that Martin Luther says, you find that he was referencing the pope when he said, “He who speaks against the truth of apostolic pardons, let him be anathema and accursed!”. Thus, Martin Luther did not say that he accepted indulgences. I met a “Orthodox” and all he did was trying to prove me Catholics wrong, I proved him Papal Infallibility and Immaculate conception and he couldn’t disprove me, so he said that I had no proof or just responded with “no”. When he realized he was also attacking Orthodox with saying that we shouldn’t ask Saints to pray for us or that Mary wasn’t sinless, he told me he will become Lutheran, just so he could be against me. These Protestants really hate Gods Church.
Pray for that man. His heart is hard, and he's choosing his faith out of pure spite.
@@Cklert I did, 3 or 2 rosaries, I might still continue praying for souls to get into Gods Church
What scriptures do you recommend we use to support papal infallibility and immaculate conception when debating Protestants and Muslims
@@titusthegreat7434 matthew 16 for papal infallibility, while he says that peter is the rock, he is blessing peter, so thats the proof that the rock is peter. Immaculate conception means that Mary was sinless since her conception and had no original sin, luke 1:28, says she is full of grace which means that she was saved by Gods Grace from Sin, in the greek language the angel gabriel says she is full of grace in present perfect which means that she was sinless and continues to do so, that means she was sinless from her conception till now and forever
You come off as hypocritical and ignorant when you attack other denominations for choosing their faith when you Catholics do this all the time. Literally choose Catholicism over the Bible alone.. very tricky and dangerous. I don't trust the Catholic church at all, very creepy and evil vibes. The devil is definitely infiltrated into the Vatican imo. I'll stick with my Jesus and my Bible thanks.

@Spuurtzithink Then how did so many people "miss" who Jesus was? Ludicrous, which is my guess was your point, so you can argue some twisted view of history. LOL, not interested in arguing with you. Incredible job. Just found this Channel and I’m loving it.
"Easily refuted" the Catholic position. LOL. Yeah, nothing like accessing derivations of 16th century novelties to shoot down something that's been around for 2,000 years. All that time he spent on Adobe just to come out looking incompetent.

On indulgences, i highly recommend people chrcking out shamless popery's video "8 myths of martin luther and the reformation" Joe eviscerates prot arguments in that. He also did a video on rebutting this same prot video too. I appreciate you showing basically the full video and touching on points Joe didn't.
Its mindboggling how blindly they still reject the deuterocanon without knowing why they do. Especially now with being able to search anything on the internet to cross reference so easily. I want a protestant's reaction to Wisdom 2:12-24, praying it would be along of lines of "Oh wow that is literally prophesying the whole gospel"
Lol, you and Shameless Popery responding to the same video on the same day! Excellent!!! You gotta gives Joe's response a watch also! ✌️❤️🔥✝️

Thankyou brother I’m going to Catholic Church this Sunday
Wow,dont doubt Catholic and Catholic teachings.
Thanks!
Great rebuttal brother. You gotta love how protestants talk about the early Church but never admit its catholicity. This guy obviously did not go to a catholic to get his explanation. He probably went to James White...lol.

God bless brother. I was curious if you had a suggestion on which bible version we should read?
God bless you Alex🙏
What does the selling of indulgences have to do with how the bible was put together? His video just went completely anti-catholic bc its not a genuine video about the bible. You know what I think is so interesting? When we start having the debate with protestants about the bible or authority somehow we always start discussing Luther (whether its protestants or Catholics) as if Luther is their "authority". Seems to me whether protestants like or or not they look to Luther as an authority and if they don't they still have an authority at their church whether its a pastor, elders, a board, etc. So why are only Catholics badgered about authority? 🤔
I would LOVE videos over what each of the counsels taught.
When Protestants lose arguments they just start spewing all the objections they have. James White is a professional at this
If I could be charitable as possible, he wanted to set up historical context for the reformation where the paradigm shifted to the 66 book canon (in his view).
@Baelon_the_Bold1 Your post looks fine to me....

Catholic Rules Everything Around Me
🇻🇦✝️
I sometimes get frustrated from all of the lies and false accusations protestants and others hurl at the Catholic church.
Then, I derive comfort from it, because I'm reminded that Jesus told us we would be hated:
John 15:18-20
18 “If the world hates you, know that it has hated me before it hated you.
🙏⛪️✝️
As a Baptist learning about the catholic faith .I feel more and more hesitant about what I was raised to believe .I was taught that the Catholic Church were like the Jews that killed Jesus and were just “ religious “.Thank God for people like voice of reason to fact check ideologies I was influenced to believe .I feel a desire to change my religion but just feel uncomfortable asking intercession to Mary and saints .But who knows if it’s God will it will happen.
@@rare-therandomengineer7962 Spread a gospel you don't even fully believe? Because if you did you would understand the importance of Christs church. 'Modern religion?' what are you even talking about? The Christian faith is thousands of years old. But you somehow know better than all the apostles, church fathers and Saints and don't need that 'religion'. Sounds more like you just want to do your own thing and have your own interpretation of the bible

At this point should we even take protestant serious at all especially since he ends the video about running away. You would think he will be humble enough to get feedback.
The easiest way to refute Protestants on this matter is to ask them, "how many archangels are there? Name at least 3 of them."
They won't have a clue if they only use 66 books as the source. 🤭

I would like for you to do a video covering the council of Trent. I have protestant friends who their pastors have sermons on the council and they misunderstand or malign. But the council seems pretty dense for all lay people to just read through
At the time of Jesus there were already several sectors and disputes within Judaism. It soon becomes invalid to turn to Judaism to discard the books used by the Church Fathers. To justify the demonic Luther.

He uses Jan Huss to support his argument for indulgences. Huss was condemned by the Roman Catholic church and declared a heretic. On July 6th 1415 Huss was burned at the stake. Huss was the leader of the Bohemian reformation that started over a hundred years before Luther . His crimes included offering the cup to the laity, educating women, translating the Bible into Czech and preaching "faith alone".
Council of Trent vid would be very useful
the Septuagint is quoted 360 times in the new testament. its thr predominant source of OT and the oldest anf most precice translation. "a virgin will concieve" comrs dmfrom there. hebrew texts say "a young woman will concieve"
“We are obliged to yield many things to the Papists (Catholics) that with them is the word of God which we received from them, otherwise we would have known nothing about it at all” (From the commentary on St. John chapter 16.) -Martin Luther
Please do a video about the Counsel of Trent.
@VoiceOfReason_ Where can I find documentation that the early church used, as part of its criteria for establishing the biblical canon, that the books of the bible had to have been used in the church's liturgy? I can not find anything that says this.

But Tobit 4:9-11 says:
9 So you will be laying up a good treasure for yourself against the day of necessity. 10 For charity[a] delivers from death and keeps you from entering the darkness; 11 and for all who practice it charity is an excellent offering in the presence of the Most High.
And Tobit 12:9 says:
For almsgiving delivers from death, and it will purge away every sin. Those who perform deeds of charity[a] and of righteousness will have fulness of life;

Idk if I’m protestan or not , I know for sure I am not catholic … this man is probably the smartest catholic I heard but there’s so many decisiveness claim that he makes about “Protestant “ …
It kinda sucks how we have brothers who put their passion for their church that they have to lie about our claim but then again I talked to many catholic & they have pretty wild claims that I haven’t heard this guy ever say too so I guess it all depends on our experiences…MAY THE LORD BE WITH US & YOU
It’s not about Christian’s vs Catholics anything that comes close to this is form Satan our enemies … I as a Christian am not thinking you are wrong for your church tradition & passion
So why feel negative against those evangelical THE WILL OF GOD .. I love y’all God bless
Circular reasoning: the Books of the Bible are inspired and so is the CC which tells us which ones are inspired, therefore the 66 + 7 are inspired.
When it comes to Protestants its a case of, “what came first, the chicken or the egg”, THE CHURCH OR THE BIBLE?
If they can ever figure that out we can all move on.
I think they know, they just wish they can change it or disprove it.
We need the video of the council of Trent and 95 thesis
Also indulgences weren’t exactly bad either. They were also cheap for that time too. Extremely cheap. And even said that if you had nothing to offer just go into prayer and whether u bought and indulgence or not you had to make a mini pilgrimage. And if you couldn’t you would be assisted in your situation. The church was and always has been very providing.
Great video Alex your so smart
Jesus participated in the feast of the dedication which is Hanukkah. The Protestant Bible makes no reference of Hanukkah. How do they reconcile this with Sola Scriptura? Also, when the Sadducees challenge Jesus with the woman who married seven brothers which likely draws its inspiration from Tobit.
Thank you!❤
Pretty amazing that all protestants base their faith around a baptized Catholic German priest .
Luther didn't remove books from the Bible . He died before the Council of Trent decided on the canon. The Canon is still open.
I am not your boss as I am not a patreon user but I enjoy watching your videos, Particularly the ones in Spanish and I am trying to introduce my mother into the Byzantine, rite Or at least help her understand it, since I have been attending liturgy for the last 2 years. Can you do a video in spanish about the other rites and the Liturgy and how it is still catholic and not Orthodox?
With the context of the theses that Martin Luther says, you find that he was referencing the pope when he said, “He who speaks against the truth of apostolic pardons, let him be anathema and accursed!”. Thus, Martin Luther did not say that he accepted indulgences. If you do not believe me read the theses 68-76 and tell me where he really says that he accepted indulgences as an act of being forgiven, and where he really says that they will be accursed.
