The first Alien is 100% horror, but the sequels have a lot of action elements in them. If you like violent 80s sci-fi movies (Predator / Robocop / Starship Troopers / The Terminator / The Thing), then you'll like Aliens, the second movie. Sigourney doesn't play side characters in the Alien movies either. Her character Ellen Ripley is the front-and-center main hero. If you love her as an actress then those are a must-watch.
Avatar is a more modern blockbuster. The world and designs are just breathtaking. Epic action adventure. In that movie she plays Doctor Grace Augustine, not the main character but still a very big role, way bigger than her Ghostbusters and Holes roles. Now that I think of it, she could be considered the leading lady. It's either her or Zoe Saldana, their characters are both equally important. The movie was also directed by James Cameron, who also directed Aliens and The Terminator. Avatar was the highest grossing movie of all time for about 10 years. It was only recently surpassed by Avengers Endgame.

My opinion on furries is neural. I don't like them, nor hate them.
The characters are cool, Nick is pretty awesome, but the plot is nothing that new, especially if race becomes the 'prey v.s. predator' idea.
