Even though WALL-E gave MO a hard time, running and chasing him throughout the ship, MO still gave him "Handshake". Even WALL-E, on the brink of death, had to introduce himself like always. These are the types of robots I hope we build in the future.
For a moment, you can see Wall-E move his head away when Mo just starts cleaning his hand, but then immediatley looks back when Mo actually DOES shake his hand. He probably thought Mo was just going to ignore the prompt for a greeting, and I mean, how can we blame him? He nearly jumped into space JUST to clean Wall-E, or at the very least, that's the way it looked. So much visual attention went into this movie, and it only increased the wonder in my eyes as a child. It's like magic.
It is truly a masterpiece when a character says so very little and yet oozes personality and charm. The little happy dance/jig M.O does after he jumps off the green line is just nothing short of pure happiness. And subsequently followed by the little flip of his cleaner tool and ‘ooooohh…!’ When he realizes he’s on Wall-E’s trail and closing in. It is especially potent when, even near the brink of death, Wall-E doesn’t forget his manners and introduces himself to M.O. That tiny blip of dialogue, each with a different influx of emotion and charm, is truly just wonderful. Saw another comment on here that said you know you’re an adult when you feel M.O and that is so true.

That's what we all said at the beginning of the COVID Pandemic. We scanned, cleaned, sanitized, changed, and washed clothes more frequently. 6 months later we're like " Eh, I just wash my hands before going to work, church or school....online on the dining room table. "
I feel for M-O when he built up his courage to jump off his path line. How terrifying such a leap must have been for him, his whole existence being on the path line. His one moment of sheer joy at surviving going off the line and not causing trouble before immediately getting to the task at hand he has chosen gets to me. I cannot jump off my path line. The unregulated wilds of the world are very scary.
I find it interesting how Wall-E is always curious and fascinated with how other technology works, and loves playing around with them whether it's another robot or just human junk like the stuff in his home on earth. As though he or all Wall-E were built more intimately or directly by humans, or just programmed with more human-like curiosity? Just something that jumped out to me when I saw Wall-E toying with Mo, putting dirt on the floor and his face, and seeing how he'd react.

So much visual attention went into this movie, and it only increased the wonder in my eyes as a child.

It is truly a masterpiece when a character says so very little and yet oozes personality and charm. The little happy dance/jig M.O does after he jumps off the green line is just nothing short of pure happiness. And subsequently followed by the little flip of his cleaner tool and ‘ooooohh…!’ When he realizes he’s on Wall-E’s trail and closing in.
It is especially potent when, even near the brink of death, Wall-E doesn’t forget his manners and introduces himself to M.O. That tiny blip of dialogue, each with a different influx of emotion and charm, is truly just wonderful.
Saw another comment on here that said you know you’re an adult when you feel M.O and that is so true.

I would've never expected that a little robot would represent me so well. Short sized, temperamental, and obsessed with leaving things squeaky clean even if it that takes me a whole afternoon.
I don’t want Wall-E to have sequels because I worry it will ruin the story, but a MO spinoff is just to perfect to turn down.
A wall-e prequel would be pretty cool, like following humans that didn’t make it to the axiom.

The best movies have great nonverbal communication. You get better stuff from character by how they move and expressed themselves instead of what they say.

That's what we all said at the beginning of the COVID Pandemic. We scanned, cleaned, sanitized, changed, and washed clothes more frequently. 6 months later we're like " Eh, I just wash my hands before going to work, church or school....online on the dining room table. "
I feel for M-O when he built up his courage to jump off his path line. How terrifying such a leap must have been for him, his whole existence being on the path line. His one moment of sheer joy at surviving going off the line and not causing trouble before immediately getting to the task at hand he has chosen gets to me. I cannot jump off my path line. The unregulated wilds of the world are very scary.
It's always impressive to me how much personality these robots have even tho they never say one single word

I find it interesting how Wall-E is always curious and fascinated with how other technology works, and loves playing around with them whether it's another robot or just human junk like the stuff in his home on earth. As though he or all Wall-E were built more intimately or directly by humans, or just programmed with more human-like curiosity? Just something that jumped out to me when I saw Wall-E toying with Mo, putting dirt on the floor and his face, and seeing how he'd react.
