First and foremost, thank you for taking the time to record that video. But, none of your suggestions fixed my problem. Instead, now Windows does not start anymore. Before running through your fixing method, my problem was that Windows started and I got a bluescreen after a minute or so. Now, after going through all steps you proposed Windows doesn't even start. Additionally, I had a bootloader installed that let me choose between Linux or Windows to start. Now, Windows tries to start automatically but fails every time and restarts by itself. I end up with a bluescreen and the 0xc0000225 error. Pressing F8 for safety mode also does not work. So, after trying your steps my Windows crashed completely and I lost all my files. For everyone who has the same 0xc0000225 problem. Before you try to fix it, better go in safety mode and safe all your sensible data. It might get lost during the repair.

Thanks, I corrupted my brand new laptop boot files by using partition master to shrink windows drive. Using your second method I am able to boot into laptop. Thanks a ton.
100 % of the time I had to reinstall windows. Ive done this at least 10 to 15 times this year. The older versions of Windows 10 were much more effective in recovery. Restore points would work and you could even reinstall Windows over the existing installation without loosing your applications and data. I recommend using an external storage drive to store your data or Cloud facility. Dont keep them on you Windows installation drive.

So what happens if you don't have a disk to use and you don't have any partition showing only disk 0 and I tried making that active and it tells me there is no partition selected please select a partition and try again. Is there any other way to fix this error without a disk?
Wow, what a few weeks. On 7/18 I ran dell diagnostic since the fan seemed to be coming on too often. After it was done, the computer wouldn't boot up. It took me a whole day just to get it booted. After changing a setting I then lost internet AND it still wouldn't boot right up. A day later I got the internet back but still no boot without manually getting it started. I have since tried several things but most wouldn’t work since the system “thought” it was corrupted. A few sites talked about running windows media from a disk drive so I ordered 2 last night (1 will be extra) to put it on. The sites also talked about the booting order & I don’t normally like messing with stuff like that. So after installing the new SSD hard drive almost a year ago I can only assume it had 2 booting selections. 1st was marked “clone” & the 2nd said the same thing except clone. When it hangs up on bot I had to hit ESC, key down to the non clone boot & it always starts. Tried several times changing the order so it would go to the non close instead of clone but again, playing in this part of the computer is scary since yo can turn the computer into a brick & lose everything. So a little while ago I kept staring @ the screen & noticed it mentioned F5 & F6. I hit those keys & low & behold, it moved the boot I needed up, I hit F10 to save it, & all is working. So it did take 3 days, & countless sites of endless reading, but finally figured it out. My point to this whole thing is what I always tell people. I don’t care what it is, YOU can fix 99% of everything in your life (including relationships) if willing to never give up, & keep trying. Not only do you learn things (how they work) but it is also stimulating. Studies have shown activities like these help avoid Dementia & Alzheimer's in adults. So please people, if there is ever a better time to be self sufficient it is now. Take a shot & fix your own stuff!!!!! I’m now doing a happy dance. Long post, but I’ve always been anal when it comes to details.
But what if the total identified windows installation is 0? What should I do next? It says, Successfully scanned Windows installations. Total identified Windows installations: 0 The operation completed successfully. I'm desperate. Help me. T_T

A tip for everyone watching this. Before making anything go to your boot menu and manualy select the drive from witch u want the os to boot. I had this problem after cleaning my pc wich involved unpluging all sata cables. Doing the above mentioned solved my problem. After that all I did was to set the boot priority to boot from the correct hard drive and that was it.

After entering bootrec /rebuildbcd it's shows requested system device cannot be found
During this process. Is it possible that all the data is lost or the data is safe while following the steps. Awaiting Reply.
kushal panchal if you go with option one you should still have all your files
Thank You David for your response.Really Appreciate it.
I tried first option and it worked fine and perfect no data loss
kushal panchal no problem I had to do this last night
I don't have a CD, but I hit Escape went to something to hit f11 which prompt mean to hit my country, (us) and then troubleshoot and all the way up to command prompt. Would that still work? I'm on method 5 and its 13% complete stage four out of five. Should I let that complete, and then restart my computer, or should I restart it now while it's doing the process?
Hi, im having this problem with my ideapad 100s. It doesn't show "press any key to boot from DVD or USB". And it has a fairly old UEFI and it doesn't have much options. Please help if possible, tha k yoy
Thanks, I corrupted my brand new laptop boot files by using partition master to shrink windows drive. Using your second method I am able to boot into laptop. Thanks a ton.
BRO METHOD 5 SAVED ALL MY FILES FROM REINSTALLING WINDOWS, AFTER TRYING TO FIX IT FOR 8 HOURS. AMAZING VIDEO!
Glad it helped
100 % of the time I had to reinstall windows. Ive done this at least 10 to 15 times this year. The older versions of Windows 10 were much more effective in recovery. Restore points would work and you could even reinstall Windows over the existing installation without loosing your applications and data. I recommend using an external storage drive to store your data or Cloud facility. Dont keep them on you Windows installation drive.
this fixed 2 of my cloned hard drives. I had forgotten how to do it, so he saved me and two of my laptops.
Before watching this video, i had clicked on the last option i.e. press F9 to use another window ( n smthing like this)... but now jpg files are not getting displayed... could u pleeeeeeeaaaase help me!!!....
This is garbage. This error occurs even if you want to install Windows on a formatted HDD, not only if you want to restore corrupted boot.
We are in 2021 and It's still working, thanks bro❤❤

THANK GOD IT WORKED MAN !! GOD BLESS YOU ! THE SECOND METHOD WORKED FOR ME !
@2:04
I don’t have the “exit and continue to Windows 10”option.Is this bad ?
In the second option when I press enter the command, bootrec /fixboot it shows "access is denied" what should I do.. And the system us not repaired as well. 😣
but why this problem happens? I've just rebooted it, and now it is working again. But I don't understand what caused it, and why it is working again so easily
After giving command, should I remove the pen drive?
I have a doubt. Is there a possible way to fix this error without losing any files?
Error code was same but it doesn't showing options like troubleshooting etc...which are available for you
Thank you so much! I tried many fixes online, but then I found your video and "bootrec /rebuildbcd" got my PC booting again :D
Really greatfull for this video man, thanks a lot!! I had to do many other things to recover my pc but this video was a big help. Best regards from Ecuador. Take care!
I put in my recovery CD and I don't ever get the press any key to boot from CD---it goes right to the 225 error screen. I even tried a USB recovery stick. Same thing. Tried forced power cycling 8 times. Same result. PC is permanently ruined.
Hi! I'm having the same problem. My PC is showing me the error code in the blue window. I downloaded media creation tool onto my USB flash drive in hopes to fix my PC with it. Unfortunately Media creation cannot be run. Any tips? Can't burn DVD right now, because the software concerned is also on my PC that is on strike at the moment :-(
So what happens if you don't have a disk to use and you don't have any partition showing only disk 0 and I tried making that active and it tells me there is no partition selected please select a partition and try again. Is there any other way to fix this error without a disk?
Every time I type in bootrec /fixboot it says access denied. How can I fix this problem?
Thanks, I replaced the HD for SSD and after clone was having the 0xc0000225 and with the command bootrec rebuild fixed the problem
But what if the total identified windows installation is 0? What should I do next?
It says,
Successfully scanned Windows installations.
Total identified Windows installations: 0
The operation completed successfully.
I'm desperate. Help me. T_T
Command prompt option worked for me after doing a disc clone that wouldn't boot on HP zbook. Has saved me shed loads of time and money. Thank you for your help.
For me it didn't work, when I do "bootrec /rebuildbcd" I get "no system device found"
not works for me i just reinstalled windows
I tried most of the steps, and nothing seemed to help. Then I just typed "bcdboot c:\windows" at some point, and the system loaded. Thanks anyway, got me on the right track.
Which partition do I select? I've got 4...
Partition 1 - recovery - 529mb - 1024kb offset
Partition 2 - system - 99mb - 530mb offset
Partition 3 - Reserved - 16mb - 629mb offset
Partition 4 - Primary - 111gb - 645mb offset
Can someone please help me, please.
Edit : I selected all 4 partitions one by one and all of them said "The selected disk is not a fixed MBR disk. The active command can only be used on fixed MBR dials."
In step 5 you got error messages because you forgot to put a space between the /scannow /offbootdir
thanks from Taiwan, you saved my wife's NB. have a great day~
8:33 you don't even know what you're doing. You type a command, the command prompt tells you that you must have typed something not correct and you go on with something else.
I got "sfc /scannow" to work only. Tried "sfc /offbootdir" etc and "sfc /offwindir" etc alone, but not working both
My problem is restarting the pc after closing the command prompt window.. how do I restart it? There's no restart option..do I just turn it off using the power button or what?
Most new computers come with Windows 10 installed without a CD, so these options don't help at all.
it does not go past the recovery screen. otherwise i would not have come looking. its on the blue and then turns off. it also doesnt read from usb drive or sdcard
When I did rebuildbcd it said : Total identified windows installations: 0
EpicEntertain It said the same to me
none of any reboot or recover will not work for me 😭😭😭

Sailesh Dhakal i took the Pc to where I bought it and I still had warranty so they sent it all the way to Sweden and two weeks later it came back with a new hard drive and now it still works. But not so good it crashes, the background sometimes crashes, the backlight screen adjustment sometimes don’t work. And always just before I am going to the shop to get it fixed the problems goes away, but I have I on video, so next time I go to the store the can’t say that they need to see the problem happen first.
Sir due to this unspecified lockdown which have been evolved due to the pandemic of coronavirus, i am unable to access that particular cd , can you tell me another way instead of inserting this hard CD, i mean to say regarding downloading through internet sources in pendrive
the 5th method... do i still need to wait for it to complete?
Your video saved my ass. Thank you! I had cloned my Toshiba laptop's HD to a new SSD and that's what greeted me when I tried to boot. It was method 3, from the command prompt, that did the trick. Thanks again!
Good day. I got the same error on a Samsung ATIV Tab. Cannot even go into that fix state. DOn't know the button combination to go into the repair state.
Hi there I need your help!!🆘🆘 I've tried all I don't have the CD for repair and I'm locked out. Is there a way to do this with out a Disc? Thank you
I have a Lenovo Ideapad 110. I tried to use the disc but it won't boot or load the disc. The one key recovery is not working too. It still showing the same message
All methods are focused on CMD prompts. What if I can't access CMD or boot from HDD, CDD, USB or just hard work?
Method 4 is working! thanks man! p.s. shift + f10 will open command prompt
Your a life saver man ❤. I thought I lost my saved game files. Appreciate it.
I don't have a CD? What do I do then?? I got windows 10 with a code and do not have it written down?
