London is GRIM this time of year, but luckily living in a basement apartment means I can carpet board. I can't go too nuts because it's in my living room in range of things I could break if I slip out really badly, but even just freestyle-y footwork types things are great to stop yourself from getting rusty. Not everything translates 100% to concrete though, so it's always a good idea to REALLY get your balance down.
theres a couple of covered skateparks in london too! baysixty6 is paid but is p solid :P. my usual skatespot in london is a flyover so if its just damp i can sorta ignore most the time lol
I have been holed up at a parking garage nearby for the last month. They have these poles that are perfectly set up for doing flatground tricks. I have even managed to do a switch heelflip. it's fun in a video game sort of way but obviously doesn't count
Finally got back into skateboarding for the first time in like 5 years at literally the most inconvenient possible time: right before a giant snowstorm. I got like 2 days in before I realized I was really enjoying myself and wanted to actually try to improve so I’ve just been skating in my garage until the snow melts away
I live in Canada so it’s snow everywhere or covered areas have salt and gravel all over them ): I also don’t have a garage and live in an apartment above people so carpet boarding isn’t an option. It’s so hard, I feel like I regress each year because of this. I have a balance board though so there’s that! Loved this video thanks dude!
Just bought my first board not too long ago, still trying to get comfortable on a board and whatnot, gotta say this channel has been very helpful in showing me what to expect when it comes to skating 👌🏽
found a big ol abandoned parking lot that my friends and I like to skate at, even if its raining theres a big concrete pad with an awning to practice flat round stuf on
Just took up skateboarding before snow came. bought a snowskate and tbh a lot of stuff seems to cross over. I can only skateboard in my house doing stuff like kickturns right now, but improving my balance on the snowskate seems to make the skateboard easier to control. Either way, they're both fun and that's what really matters
Here in Russia there's shit weather half a year, school yards are forbidden areas, parking lots are guarded with life and there are 9000+ neigbours under and above your cardboard-thin flat. The last roof-covered skatepark closed some time ago, but there are plenty of churches and WW2 monuments. When I was a schoolboy, my skateboarding classmates skated in underground crossings. I tried it too a few times. If you can find one that has little use, they are pretty okay actually. The only problem is ECHO, which is LOUD as HELL. And I'm super afraid to hit my head with a ceiling.
I really don't know if it helps skating but snowboarding is some of the most fun I've had this snow season. Maybe my ollies and manuals improved a bit since you can do those on a snowboard but other than that it's another fun sport that you can get into easier than an average person because you understand the motion of it.
For themost folk snowboarding has no practical use. There're simply no suitable slopes and it costs an arm and a leg. More like a fun one time distraction and not something to pursue.
yeah man i have the pain. we in silver spring, MD got snow on the third of january. now on the 13th i think we got a snow storm and school was canceld for both!
Growing up when I was living in town I used to always skate at this strip mall right beside my house. Wasnt much but there was more than enough room for flat or even a flat bar if u had one. Now that im older I don't usually like to go out into the cold
Although I just started skating again at the tail end of winter, this winter was so annoying, there wasn’t enough snow to actually do anything, or low enough temperature to do wintertime things, and it wasn’t warm enough to do summertime things. This fall was like a crappy annoying fall that lasted too long (usually we have long enough summers and winters, but this year it was a long, crappy winter)
another thing i'll add as a northern midwest skater: consider shoveling off part of your skatepark or a street spot! if you can just get a few sunny days in a row it's worth it especially if you can get some buddies to help out. with some shovels and snowmelt and you can get a spot skateable by the next day easily
@@captainwormburner I sweep it off with my broom but it's really an annoyance more than anything else. I basically keep a snow-shovel and a wide-brimmed broom in my car at all times haha
So I live about an hour away from the nearest skate park and its been freezing cold out recently, so I've been skating in my garage and its great, I can go skate literally whenever I want. I did fall on my arm and sprain my wrist for a while though, I need to sweep my garage better I guess 😂.
I made the grasshopper choice and spent the last nice days of autumn skating instead of levelling my garage floor. Big mistake. I've been riding a snowskate down a toboggan hill but it's not the same, although wiping out is more fun.
So what if I'm from Lithuania and there's snow and ice everywhere outside, plus it's cold and I also live on the second floor of an apartment building so I can't skate inside or in any garage? It's literally terrible, I'm a beginner too, so I want to be somewhere alone, but there are no skate spots and even if it's the summer there's only one normal skate park in our whole city (which is the god damn capital too) and the skate park is not only bombarded by hundreds of scooter kids, but it's a hang out spot for everyone in the city centre, so you have at least 10 eyes on you at all times. I'd not care for anyone if I was skating with friends, but none of them skate so I'm left to be by myself
Me and my brother know the shifts at our local store and we know this cool guy who lets us use the parking garage without getting kicked out so we go there every Tuesday and Friday 😎
If you skate and none of the options are listed is available to you, besides those my fav skate itch is simply Finger Boarding… Also it takes me back to my childhood til this day I can’t get enough of it!! (:
Another thing you could have said: If you don’t have any way of enjoying skateboarding just play some skateboarding games whether it’s skate 3 or tony hawk or skater xl
@Big T zier I mean, I don't mind the cold and I like snow, but come on bro, I haven't had the chance to skate in over a month. I'm starting to get depressed lol

I wish I didn't live in a third floor apartment..no outside space, no garage, no carpet boarding..I've been digging out snow and putting a carpet on the ground in the park ha....also my bands practice space is in a building that's completely empty after 5, and has amazing smooth floors, I have 24/7 access....but it means a trip on the subway rather then being in my skate radius!
When you live in a desert and you’re just in pain because you skated for 4 hours straight yesterday and can still barely skate to the park down the street from your house
I got some snow days the weekend I was gonna buy a nice board so I took my walmart board out to the garage to teach myself ollies and my mom was yelling at me about how I was gonna crack my head...
I have a question, I bought my skateboard 🛹 a few months ago and at first it was perfect but now it's not turning right or left , it's just going straight... I even changed its pivotcups . Why is that ? I love skateboarding and I don't wanna give up 😔please help
I recently injured my shoulder going up the half pipe and was told not to touch my board for three weeks- I’m going to say that using a balance board doesn’t count…

I wonder how skating is in some of the colder places, like NY or Seattle, was this winter
Not too bad so far,as long as it does get too windy or snow, there's some nice spots near me. (In NY).

First, I love your Channel and love your videos!
Thank you it just started snowing
I'm skating regardless of it being cold down here in texas which is not an ideal climate but as long as it doesn't rain I'm good.
If it snows/ices you can take an old skate deck and go snow skate. It’s pretty fun and good if you always wanted to ski\snowboard
I bought a cruiser board to ride around when its rainy or wet out, and to ride to work
if you have some money to spand you can also do custom griptapes and boards. Its a lot of fun
I just snowboard. It's not the same, but it's a board sport with lots of tricks to do, so it's close enough.
I have a balance board! It's a small log 🪵 with an old skate deck!
when it snows i usually just snowskate because it feels close to a skateboard and u can still do most tricks
