This will make it so that you land on the board once it's already flat either midair or on the ground. This really helped me for learning how to do something like caveman off a curb. Initially, I was jumping at the same time I let go of the board, which meant I was kicking it down while it was almost vertical in the air, thus kicking it away from me. What helped me is to drop the board, and wait maybe half a second to 2 3rds of a second longer before jumping, and jumping higher than where I dropped the board. This made it so that I was landing on the board once it was flat and almost touching the ground, making it much easier.

Try this, hold your Deck on the Opposite Arm from your Stance like example your Deck is in your right hand and your stance is regular, And then while you run you hold the middle of the deck and put your other hand on the nose, or for short A Pro Throw Down
