I'm just turned 36 today and haven't skated since probable early 2000's I jumped on one the other day and landed an Ollie, a kick flip, and a heal flip. If my old ass can do it. You can too!

My problem is I skated half pipes and pools for the longest time, so when I eventually went to earn street tricks, I was like damn this is hard. Still can't do more than a few basic flips but still work on them when when I get the urge.
Nice job try to practice Ollies for one day and the next day if you still get it first try, your muscle memory is v strong and you can move to advanced tricks but so far gj bro
Not even kidding, try wearing a helmet, inee and shoulder pads. With those on you feel invincible or over protected, and you will go out of your comfort zone and can improve confidence

Hey I've been at it for a year and I'm 40. up until now I pretty much only practiced my basic tricks stand still. Started hitting the pavement recently (pretty much in the literal sense) and falling all the time. I do it for the fun though, and the key to that is to be alright if it doesn't work out. Even if you only skate once or twice a month, as long as you enjoy that time, then you're enjoying skateboarding.
Yeah Jed I agree. There are few things I enjoy doing in life (besides skating) I like playing music and painting, but as soon as the things you love become a responsibility or you're being pressured into doing it, no matter how much you love it you will hate it in the end after a surprisingly short amount of time. It's the same for skating. If you force yourself and make it feel like a job you will hate it. This is all my own personal experience/opinion though, but I found if I skate only when I feel like it then I do much better than when I said I HAVE TO PRACTICE. And those callings come much more often if you let them happen organically too. Bottom line is: Skate for yourself and no one else. Also, the skateboarding community is the most understanding and respectful community of that philosophy than any other field. props to you guys that shred it, never made me feel bad about being old and a beginner, never.
You and Aaron both inspired me to start skateing, I’ve started skating for almost a month now and I’ve found somthing that I can learn well and be progressing at, I love it ❤️
I know, right? I watch Aaron Kyro, and it just looks so effortless. But he's been skating for over 20 years, while I've only spent about 30 days actually on my board, he should be better than me! I record all my stuff, and honestly, when I'm editing my videos for upload, that help motivate me because I see little things to work on, and I just want to get out there and try again!
I’m 37 just started skating again to try and turn my life around for the positive... muscle memory damn, he is right. I have lost it all, but love that feeling again....yeah dude

@@charleswhitemarketing9288 hi man..just getting comfortable controlling thr board around empty carparks late at night..im very far to learning tricks to be honest but thats ok..im happy to take it slow..how about u?
I got an ollie a few times after practicing 1000 times when I first got my skateboard a few months ago. I skipped one day, tried again and lost it. I gave up and haven't skated in a few months loll I'm so unmotivated but want to skate super bad at the same time
I've been skating and got an ollie plus a few other skills (not tricks) whoo B^) >> I'm hesitant to go to the skate park, I might be in the way of experienced skaters..
I’m learning to skate, and I’m also a dancer so I like to look at tricks as choreography. You practice a bunch of times until you get it right and ingrained in your muscles, then you compete. And tricks in skating are similar to tricks in dance. It took me forever to get my splits and I had to work really hard and I got frustrated so often and now that I can do it, I do it all the time to keep it in my mind. I've been watching a lot of skate vids recently cause I'm trying to get back into skating. I skated back when I was like 7 years old, and now I'm 18 and I forgot how much fun it was. Granted I never learned any tricks cause I was a child, but we'll see what I can do now.

How I learned to ollie: My brother pushed me towards a curb and I was forced to learn that second or I'd face plant (I was very short back then), so I did, I ollied up a curb. I faceplanted after that. . .
Oh man, this is weird. An old mate of mine had almost the exact same thing happen when we were kids, except his older cousin shoved him. He just layed there for a bit afterwards, in shock. Was funny to watch!

I lost all my motivation and interest in skating. The first Ollie I did took three weeks but when I did it. It felt great. I have the muscle memory for the Ollie. I haven’t skated in a year and I’ve been getting interested back in skateboarding
Zetrah that means, approximatelly, shit. Considering the huge amounts of variations there are in board, trucks and wheels size and materials that comes down to preference your board can't be that heavy that you're unable to learn.
I got new Vans yesterday and went out skateboarding at 7:30pm. I was working on Ollies in the grass and going down my street. Somebody in my grade came down my street and saw be skateboarding down my driveway into the street
This video helped me less with skateboarding but more with the piano, it taught me to not rush every single song and to learn every single key by muscle memory so I can learn the both normal tunes and bass. Thx anyway’
Actually I first saw Finn wolf hard from stranger things and he loved skating so I then I wanted to skate too so I check Aaron Kyro’s vids and I think he’s the real person who inspired me to skate and I’m getting a board in like a few days then I’ll start to progress
To summarize all that he said into something simple, read this..... Skateboarding requires a push, and many more. Perhaps you should give yourself a push on this skateboard we call "life."
The best thing for me when i get burned out is watch thrasher magazine videos and listen to oldshcool punk rock it gets me hipped up enough to say fuck it n just do it
On the 3rd one I don’t lose motivation I gain motivation, because I’m close and if I don’t improve I’m like 👌 because If I do a trick like a 180 over and over a fail makes it worth so more than a Ollie with a 180 turn because there’s risk
Thanks for the advice makes a lot of sense. I am 35 and just got back into skating and I must say it’s tough now that I am older but this helps a lot. Great video thanks for sharing!!!!
There are at most 95 million skateboarders in the world and to be exact prob 80 million so, if you land an Ollie you did something that 7.509 billion people can’t do

I can’t even Ollie😂 just keep in mind I started a couple of hours ago💯
1. Wearing nike
2. Pushing Mongo
3. Listening to rap
4. Wearing cuffed jogger
5. Acting like a non skater
Since when did skateboarding have to do with things you wear or listen to
4:06 i got inspired to do skateboarding because of this channel
Wtf this vid was made less than 1 mike from my house! I go walk there all the time!
I am a beginner and i did the first and second mistakes
Rip all skaters cuz when skater are mad they…YEET THERE SKATEBOARDS 🛹🕊
All the mistakes are all me. Holy crap
How I learned to ollie:
My brother pushed me towards a curb and I was forced to learn that second or I'd face plant (I was very short back then), so I did, I ollied up a curb. I faceplanted after that. . .
Oh man, this is weird. An old mate of mine had almost the exact same thing happen when we were kids, except his older cousin shoved him.
He just layed there for a bit afterwards, in shock. Was funny to watch!
Where can I find the beat and what’s the name of it ?
Is it good to hold on to something when trying to ollie to practice to get the movement
I landed my first high ollie with a slippers i dont like shoes that much
@@bambooeater3762 lol, props to you I just use slippers cause I feel like it is unnecessary for me. Edit: the shoes feels like unnecessary to me
Slippers and pipe I hope :) did a bare feet kickflip once
@@ttitskateboardingedits4408 wow, nice I didn't got to do kickflip because I have the worst board no good concave and any of that still saving though :)
@@charlescampugan2297 yeah man remember did it when I was in a competition bit like kotr was good fun yeah fair one check on my edits some strange skating lol
I lost all my motivation and interest in skating. The first Ollie I did took three weeks but when I did it. It felt great. I have the muscle memory for the Ollie. I haven’t skated in a year and I’ve been getting interested back in skateboarding
3:55 nice little touch 😂
"comparing yourself to others" damn, i was doing it with your videos xD
Tricks are so 1998, cruising for hundreds of miles is where it's at.
Skateboarding is based on confidence, the better narcissist you’ll be, the better your improvement will be, right ? 😂
VLSkate how much does ur board weight
Zetrah does only matter 4 posers
i wanted to know because my board seems to have more weight than normally
Zetrah what trucks do have
Zetrah eBay board?
Zetrah that means, approximatelly, shit. Considering the huge amounts of variations there are in board, trucks and wheels size and materials that comes down to preference your board can't be that heavy that you're unable to learn.
i really wanna start skating but theres so much snow outside lol
I got new Vans yesterday and went out skateboarding at 7:30pm. I was working on Ollies in the grass and going down my street. Somebody in my grade came down my street and saw be skateboarding down my driveway into the street
This video helped me less with skateboarding but more with the piano, it taught me to not rush every single song and to learn every single key by muscle memory so I can learn the both normal tunes and bass. Thx anyway’
3:58 THE SHADEEEEE
Actually I first saw Finn wolf hard from stranger things and he loved skating so I then I wanted to skate too so I check Aaron Kyro’s vids and I think he’s the real person who inspired me to skate and I’m getting a board in like a few days then I’ll start to progress
To summarize all that he said into something simple, read this.....
Skateboarding requires a push, and many more. Perhaps you should give yourself a push on this skateboard we call "life."
"Don't practice a trick until you get it right, practice it until you don't get it wrong" Rodney Mullen aka the god father of skateboarding
watching this after i fell off my skateboard and hurt my elbow and couldn't move it :>
I fell of my skateboard 2 days ago and sprained my wrist it still hurts 😄
I love the part when you said (there are some words people than you) and then you show a picture of a scooter kid
The best thing for me when i get burned out is watch thrasher magazine videos and listen to oldshcool punk rock it gets me hipped up enough to say fuck it n just do it
This video helped me during the times I was learning Ollie’s, thanks for this motivation video VLS skate!
‘Try some little easier tricks first’
Me: can skateboard but can not for the life of me turn 😂
