However the weather is not really ideal atm where i am, so tommorow imma find a carpet and do some stuff with my old deck haha. When there’s no snow and it’s dry I can still go skating, but I keep going backwards, but once I figure that out I think I’ll be able to actually ride it right, I’ve just been shifting my weight to move around to get comfortable, but I’ve almost gotten it down

This doesn't really apply to this video, however, wavy mentioned stretching, and I found it as much better to actually stretch after you skate rather than before, well, you want to stretch a little bit before, but you don't want to do it too much, it'll actually strain your muscles for when you go skate, it's better to stretch afterwards. When your muscles are already broken down and you'll feel the burn, it's a lot more effective way building your muscles. If you do stretch before, a skate session is better to stretch a couple hours beforehand
yes thats an important thing to know, Directly after doing stretches where you hold the movement you are more likely to injur yourself. Dynamic stretches, going in and out of a stretch immediatly, is the best because it will losen the muscles, get some blood flow, and you are less likely to injure.

When you live in Scotland and can't progress properly because of the wet climate and don't want to always pay through the ass to go to the indoor skate place on the other side of town.

Ironically, I can do kickflips, heelflips and varial flips with carpet skateboarding, but the real deal is more difficult for me. It's so easy to commit to something that won't shoot out from under you. You can still 'kinda' land primo, but it's not likely.
I started skateboarding to lose weight so I could benefit my handstand training, but I ended up fucking my wrist, and now I cant even do a handstand without my left hand only using fingertips, lucky enough i was already training one arm Handstand so i can still do them, but it sucks cause I losing my strenght. Now all I can do is skate. It was my first day skateboarding I injured myself too lol. I wear wrist pads perimantly now.
Don't forget about your endurance! Use your parents treadmill, jumping jacks, burpees... but, SKIPPING ROPE IS PROBABLY THE BEST OPTION. It compounds with an explosive movement, can be done at a higher tempo, used for footwork and can be mixed into a tabata type of workout if you enjoy calisthenics as well. But, just know that even when we skate, it is also a workout. Resting is probably the best thing to do for your body. Also, find other activities to increase your coordination as well! There's tons of options and this is a really good video that covers multiple aspects.
It’s just bound to happen maybe try wearing high top shoes or like he said try to stretch more injuries will happen if your serious about learning especially depending on your skate style

stretch it and train it up. there’s muscles in your ankles that can be developed and get stronger. but you need to work up to it like skateboarding
