My whole family is Venezuelan, and my uncle who is half Italian introduced it to us when I was very young, and every Christmas since we have enjoyed them every year and we buy to share them with friends and other family members. Now we can make them from scratch! Thanks!
WOW...... This panettone came out so light and fluffy. I've never made it before. I'm so happy the panettone came out so well. It does take time, but well worth it. Thanks for the video and recipe.
Just so you know, you can use paper lunch sacks for baking your panettone. Divide your final dough into 4 sections. Fold the top of the sacks down about 2-3 times and brush the inside of the sacks with melted butter. Place your panettone into the sacks and bake - it works like a charm. (Saw Martha Stewart use these sacks and it worked fine).
I tried your tip and it worked just fine! Tks, Bonnie
I just got gifted a panettone and this video just makes me appreciate the gift even more. So much work but the end result is amazing!
I am soooo happy I came across this video! We have several family members who are Italian, including a restaurateur Uncle (who was born in Parma, Italy), and I know he would be deeply impressed if I baked this for our big family get-together at Christmas 🎄 I can't wait to try this; it looks amazing! Thank you for sharing this recipe; wish me luck!
I made this I made few alterations as it’s extremely cold in the UK currently! What can I say is it was just like I bought from the shops except even better, I spilt between 2 moulds and it’s absolutely divine! So so thanks a bunch Laura for sharing this recipe, you are a star! It really is a mouthwatering recipe!
Hi Laura! Thank you so much for this recipe. I've made it for my family for Christmas for the past three years, and it's always perfect. Truly grateful for your sharing it. Happy holidays to you and yours!
I just watched an Italian video with an Italian chef make panettone and he literally frightened me away! The end result looked fabulous, but his technique was intensive, laborious, and required more than one day! Your technique is more simplistic, beginner friendly, and the end result looked EXACTLY the same - moist and airy as it should be! From one Italian to another, mille grazie cara!
I made this yesterday. It is fluffy and delicious. The only deviation i made was soaking the fruit in Limoncello. I will definitely be using this recipe at Christmas. Thanks Laura.
I'm Peruvian and my family order so many panettone for Christ time. Also my grandma and I would make hot chocolate to have with the panetone
Susan Garcia donofrio!!

I'm Uruguayan but my grandma is Italian, every single year she would make panettone or "pan dulce". The best memories
Carra Laura
the recipe is great !
One little precision: the X on the dough you are talking about is in fact a christian cross and our ancestors made it any time when they were preparing bread as act of respect for "the flesh of Christ"; Your grandmother has transmited you the gesture but the symbolics is also important especially for a Christmas cake.
miei più cordiali saluti
Iulian Calin Coca my Mom always made bread, regular bread, and always blessed it with the cross. I do it too. Merry Christmas!
Great Recipe.
This is the best recipe I've found.

this has been popular in Brazil for many years now! we also have versions with chocolate!
yes. instead of candid peel and raisins, you add chocolate chips. for the traditional, it has to be dark chocolate chips
Omg would love to bake this one day!!! I love Panettone!
I have been looking for a panettone recipe on RUclips over the last few weeks. Most of them make it look soooooo complicated that it nearly put me off making it.😢😢 Then I found your channel!!!! So well presented, no mystique, no convoluted demonstration,. Just straight forward instructions leading to a lovely bake. Many thanks. 😊😊

If you don't have the molds, you can put parchment paper or tinfoil around it like you do for souflees.
