I have been doing your whole body video on RUclips every day since January 2024. I've been doing it on our smart TV and haven't been able til now to give you a thumbs up or subscribe. I'm 86 and growing stronger. Returning to NYC on Amtrak I was able to use the stairs and escalators at Penn Station. I have a left hip replacement and a bone on bone right hip, so I baby them, but I do every other pose on the video. Thank you Michelle.

I am 74 years old and in my 7th week of COVID-19 lockdown. I try to do this routine 5-6 times a week. It helps keep me calm and thinking positively. Thank you, Michelle! I am very glad I found you.
Update: more than a year into the pandemic, I was still doing this routine several times a week and walking 2+ miles several times a week. Then, one morning my ankle rolled and I fell breaking my left ankle, right hip and right wrist. The physical therapy exercises I was given were direct from your program: ankle circles, flex and point, knee lifts, and leg lifts. Of course, these exercises were very easy for me. I have recovered in record time and I credit these exercises with that. Keep up the good work.

So nice to find a chair yoga video for seniors that is gentle and doeable, yet challenging. So many others are too slow and simple, and offer little in the way of a whole body format. Thank you for making this available!

I was looking for a video for yoga beginners. I am so happy I stumbled onto this program. I am 64 with a very stiff right hip. I lift weights, train on cardio, and eat healthy food. But this body/mind stretching has been far too long ignored by me. I have done the full video about five or six times in the past 8 days and have already begun to feel a wellness within. Maybe I'm crazy, but it seems that way. I endeavor to follow this video often. Thanks for posting, Michelle. You are very good at keeping us engaged and our spines aligned!

Dear Michelle, Thank you so much for these videos for seniors. I had given up on yoga because everything I found was way too challenging. My physical abilities are very compromised and yet I can do almost all of what you are teaching with the variations you suggest. I've been doing the hips and knees for 4 days and am inspired because I'm already noticing some difference in my ability to do the exercises. Thank you. Susan

I love this video. I do the first half before I leave for work, and do the last half at the end of my evening. Michelle not only makes you feel like she's talking right to you, but seems to know exactly when I forget to breath. lol Prior to doing this daily, I had been seriously considering surgery, but now my mobility and strength has improved so much that I believe I may be able to put that on the backburner and achieve remarkable goals!
    Thank you again, Michelle.

One evening my mom and I have found this and haven't stopped stretching to it since: I my muscles get very fatigued- so I just take a short break then get back to it. I have found there are some days I perform the moves to Michelle's speed- then other days I go my own speed....Thank you Michelle for this wonderful Video...

A week ago I was already a fan of Michelle Rubin's compassionate and expert approach to yoga for seniors, but now after experiencing this wonderful youtube video for several more times, I take three really deep breaths all through my body and say, "wow!!!" Michelle's approach has amazing potential to increase self-compassionate flexibility and externally radiating caring of mind-body-breath/whole spirit if done, as Michelle teaches, only to the extent poses and moves "are available to you," working gently at your own pace, taking breathing/rest breaks as needed. Michelle's gentle humor and natural, authentic demeanor and words are a tonic: great joy! Her phrasing is adorable, and friendly.
You can only get the full impact of how especially good a teacher Michelle is if you watch and listen (while working at your own pace) to the entire youtube of over 50 minutes. And it only gets better with repeat viewings because there's depth as well as surface here.
Tonight, after two weeks (on alternating days) of doing at-my-own-pace workouts with this, the concluding poses after 50 minutes evoked deep gratitude at an experiential whole-being state of experience. This work seems to be pulling together into greater refinement many layers of learning (and teaching) over many years of spiritual growth and conscious evolution. In areas where I teach, I'd have been a better teacher, in turn, if I'd honored this type of practice consistently throughout the years. But as the saying goes, "it takes what it takes."
Take this on, if you want opportunity over time for a great experience with chair yoga for seniors and the whole body!

Thank you so very much. I have had a fused spine twenty years ago. chronic daily pain. I would not take pain killers and so I really suffered. As the years passed I became worse and worse as my solar plexus was compromised and my breathing. Once i made my mind up that I could heal and began speaking the positive - I 'can' heal - all kinds of things came into my life, including this video. I am so grateful. I will do this regularly. It was truly wonderful and just what I needed.

I love this exercise routine! I've been doing it for 5 years now. I first did it 3 times a week for 4 years, then I started working part time so I now do it every day. I also ride a recumbent bike 10 miles a day, and do therapy in floor for 30 minutes at night. I am 70 years old and this allows me to do all the things I've always been able to do even though I'm this age. I hope I can always do these things to keep active.

Beautiful. 5 star. Instruction. Variation. Simplicity. Setting. Reminders to breathe excellent. AND a very good work out. I found my tight spot and weaker spot and side. It really couldn't have been better. Today, I could not go 1/2 way on my left hip flexor that I could on my dominant right side. All of michelles talk, is relevant and welcome. Michelle is one great yoga instructor. I will do this workout again for sure. Felt great.

I just want to say I've been doing Michelle's Yoga for 3 years or more, once in a while I get complacent and not do them for a week then on again, however sometimes I can't keep up with her but go at my own pace, I'm now 69 yo, and feel great most of the time, I can say this - I don't have aches and pains and sagging skin especially under my arms.

I have been doing these exercises for about 6 months now in two halves, the first 30 minutes in the morning and the next 22 minutes in the evening. I have started noticing improvements. After 4 weeks I was sleeping better. I had not slept well for about 1 year due to a dull pain in the legs. After about 8 weeks, one day I noticed that I was walking normally. Previously I had some pain in my legs and could only walk slowly. I would highly recommend these exercises.

Thank you Michelle - every morning before heading to the bathroom I sit on the side of my bed, lift my legs at least 12 x on each side, then arms, and breath - this helps me to steady myself before standing up. I've been doing your chair yoga exercises for several years now, even now that we're quarantined I make it a point to do your chair exercises at least 2 to 3 times a week. I'll be 70 in June and feel great aside for the CV19 distressing news! Huge gratitude to Michelle Rubin for her excellent, caring, expert yoga youtube presentations for seniors. I love this! Thanks to Michelle for expressing that we can do it slower than she goes (and there are repetitions for each component part) or, if we ever get that proficient, faster's okay, too! By having the entire presentation on a laptop outside my ambit of movement and doing what I could --- more each time --- by the third time I'd gotten much better at following the routine. I'm 63 and although I had a little experience with yoga in the past (more practice with Hsing-I Chuan and jogging), a few years ago I had a bone-shattering injury that required surgery and titanium, and afterward exercise was harder, plus a weight gain. Intermittent fasting and careful nutrition has been slowly taking the weight off, plus outdoor walks, and now I'm adding Michelle's chair yoga to Hsing-I exercises (one of which, the "turning exercise, done standing) reminds me of some of these yoga moves. The good stuff about breath and body have interconnections that way, and I'm grateful to find this yoga which is already helping my neck and spine (affected by the surgery previously, something allopathic physical therapy and follow-up breath-related metaphysics hadn't fully resolved).

I am happy that I saw your video. I am able to do most of the actions with you, so the speed is ok. I like this, a work out for most of the joints

I like this work out a lot. I have an issue with my knees so I'm trying to find a gentle workout if that makes sense. The exercises in the video warm me up very well. Sometimes I do the first 30 min to warm up and do something else more challenging if I feel like it. I go back and forth between doing the whole hour or just half. She gives very clear instructions, reminds you constantly to breathe, gives you alternative exercises in case you can't do the one she's showing you well. Very good workout. I'm having my mom do it too.

Another rave fan note. I have been using your video steadily on-line since after cancer surgery in 2009, after back surgery and hip surgery three years ago and in-between and still use it in addition to walking and CORE floor stuff. I am 83, on a fixed income, but enjoying life more than ever. Thank you, thank you, thank you!

I'm not a senior yet, (53) but I do need this type of Yoga as I have arthritis and need a knee replacement, Fibromyalgia, COPD, and Face Disc Syndrome. May as well be a senior. This is great!!!! Thank you
