they should do a claustrophobia filter and just make the wall and ceiling crabs
Thanks for that one 🤣
Make them flying spiders, go for a double whammy
ONE Crab that spans the skybox
when preach mentioned this so often im scared blizz will actually change things bc of all the phobias that exist, i mean its pretty easy to replace mobs with something other you dont change anything but the look of a mob with the arachnophobia thing but if blizz starts developing with every damn phobia in mind i thing thats very bad for the game in my opinion
@@onepiecefanboy17 If it is just a replacement it is no problem at all. Does not affect us and people who could not play it otherwise now can play it.
As long as it is an additional option, I don't see the problem
This is exactly what I love caves in a cave while sitting in my own cave. I could not imagine something better.
With great mobility comes great responsibility
Simple solution to the candle issue is to give a debuff to anyone picking up a candle preventing picking up a candle for a while, making it so that two or even three people in the party must take turns doing candles. Sometimes you're defending and popping all your cooldowns on a pack of mobs, other times you're grabbing a candle.
That is a great idea !!! Like a mobility debuff... -20% moment speed or even haste for 60 seconds after returning a candle.
That sounds like a typical mythic tune up, where they dont vibe with 1 person doing the job. But that was at least the rule in raids, we'll see for dungos
if you have claustrophobia how do you do like any of the dungeons or raids? o.O
The zones are huge. If they make you feel claustrophobic, then your bedroom should too.
I'm thinking Preach maybe got One-guyed on that one
@@mung01re Bruv people are so pathetic it's getting out of hand xD. How do you get claustrophobic staring at a frikkin monitor
wtf we got arachnophobia filters and now people worried about dungeons being claustrophobia. people are so soft these days. you wouldn't handle deadmines back in the day.
Ugh people really need to get over themselves. Why are so many people just searching for things to be upset about. It’s so pathetic
"one brings shadow, one brings the light"
"Two-toned echoes tumbling through time"
I needed to :D
THE ROAAAAD THAT WE WAAALK
Riding home?
Eeeee MACARENA!
Threescore wasted.
People not feeling "comfortable" in a f-ing video game because they are in a cartoon cave is absolutely ridiculous and shouldn't be taken seriously by anyone.
Seriously. That and the arachnophobia mode are so stupid. If you're scared of cartoon spiders don't play the damn game. People are so soft and want everything catered to them
@@Someguy-uh4lv its an actual mental condition lol, imagine i break your legs and call you soft when you ask for wheelchair accesability
"yes I am afraid of going into Deepholm and other videogame caves"
You know, it's really nice to see Preach being positive about the game and excited about parts of the game again
It's the same song and dance every X-pac lol, everyone starts off like this because this is the honeymoon phase, new stuff that is really most the time old stuff just re-done, new things that are exciting until they hit live and they fail because people realize they were victims of the moment.
Yeah as much as I don't like being pessimistic this is what happens with the streamers and youtubers all the time rave and praise the greatness of this new expansion to the heavens as if it's the second coming of christ when the alpha/beta comes out then quickly over a few months after it goes live it either cools into a lukewarm pile of mush neither really positive or negative. Or it becomes straight negative(shadowlands for one example for good reason of course)
I mean good for him, but he's doing this thing that other creators also do of going full negative when the game is bad and then crawling back with positive content just because the community is positive again. It's awkward
he does that kind of shit videos every once a year since 10 years hahahahah
I literally think the claustrophobia comments were just Preach taking chat too seriously while they were doin a lil trolling
Im fairly claustrophobic. Not like full-on anxiety attacks, but I dont like enclosed spaces. I dont think Ive felt that feeling in WoW, and theres plenty of times youre in a cave (Deepholm for example, or a massive amount of dungeons etc). Not having played the Alpha myself, I think what some comments might be getting at, is it feeling cramped, despite the scale of it. So not claustrophobic in that sense, but a bit like the Zaralek Cavern in Dragonflight. Its huge, but it feels a bit cramped because of the ceiling.
Yeah, no one said this in the Dragonflight area underground. This is why you don't form a thought around a handful of people's opinions and apply it to an entire community.
What preach taking opinions from a biased chat obsessed with memeing things to death and then calling said opinions religion...nah never happens
Please do not pander to the whole roof thing Blizzard. They can deal with it.
I haven't seen anyone say they are claustrophobic in any of the WoW zones and I would find it hard to believe if they did. I'm positive everyone lives in a building. And any building they live in is smaller than the Zaralek caverns (for example). Even more, they probably spend a lot of time in actual rooms in that building. And spend at least some time in the bathroom...you see my point. Usually people who are claustrophobic have a problem with MUCH smaller places than even a room. The only exception I've heard is the idea of not getting out of an elevator (for example). So even a large-ish elevator might cause claustrophobia if you're stuck.
People want to think they matter so they will say stupid stuff like this game makes me claustrophobic.
I'm claustrophobic, and nothing in game has made me scared. ZC felt cramped, but I think that's because my dragon mounts kept hitting the ceiling lol.
bc ppl with claustrophobia live outside, without roofs and walls
glad to see you back and enjoying WoW again preach! love your drama time videos. excited for the war within and this video series is keeping me updated. will try the alpha if i can find time between the 4 different versions of WoW soon with panda remix :p
This kobold dungeon looks fucking awesome, I'm all for immersive mechanics like the candle system
Also that stonevault fight looks SUPER similar to the Baldur's Gate 3 Fight in the mountain lmfao
Immersive maybe but on m+ it's gonna be fucking ass
Hol’ up… legacy of cataclysm?! I honestly thought we would never get another legacy video … I’m so hyped
That intro with the blood moon music from Zelda, chills !
They could paint a sky on the ceiling and put it into the lore that the citzens painted it long ago to remind them of what the sky looks like. That might help.
One consequence of dragonflying in GW2 was that the world lost a lot of small details like jump puzzles, caves, more interactive ground events, and spectacular ground vistas. I really hope they don't design the zone with expectation people will zoom past it
"They didnt feel super comfortable not seeing the sky" maybe try getting off wow and going outside? I mean its a video game love. if a cave on a screen triggers your claustrophobia you have bigger things to worry about than being in a cave in a video game.
lmao exactly. where with this end?? we can't have any flashing/bright visuals because 0.1% of the population will have epileptic seizures??
You really know your stuff and seem to actually care about the game instead of hating it like most other WoW RUclipsrs, I won't name names but it rhymes with Schmellular Schmorecraft
1st time i saw the crystal i was thinking that it is the tip of the sword.... oh wait what sword?
Seriously, no one was smart enough to know that it is the tip of Sargeras' sword? This is so obvious!
@@joaaocaampos They said in interviews that it's not
@@RicksonGM And did you believe it? It's a spoiler.
@@joaaocaampos why tf would the tip of Sargeras' sword be made of a naaru-esque Light crystal when we can literally see in Legion that it isn't?
I'm very claustrophobic, like my heart rate goes up if I'm a little tangled up in my bedsheets. But I've never understood how people can get that from a video game lol, they must be HELLA IMMERSED
Hoping flare works for hunters. Might give them some utility in here
As a hunter main - this would be awesome for us.
That's actually a sick idea
That would be lovely, fingers crossed flare can be implemented to charge the candle bar %
@@hristopavlov298 Not only a great ultility, but having hunters being need/desired for a dungeon would be great. We usually get the crappy end of things, but this would make us be a 'bonus' at least for dungeon runs.
We are always under a roof, just most of the time it's invisible
Yeah I was blown away when I saw it happen myself
Just out of curiosity, how are you using far sight? If you are refering to the free far sight tool, i always through that stopped working in Legion
I dunno, I love submarines, pillow forts and dark dank caves - so I'd love some more tight spaces
We cannot seriously be entertaining the idea that claustrophobia should stop us from having "indoor" zones?
One of my favourite expansion outside of WoW was LOTRO Minies of Moria. You joined the dwarves on the expedition to take back and explore moria. Goblins and danger everywhere and the further you went down to the foundations of stone the more surreal and creep it got. There's definitely some inspiration to be drawn from there when it comes to mines and dwarves.
Would be cool if transmoging into or equiping a torch or a lantern would have an effect on gameplay in the instances with the light mechanic.
No that would be actually fucking awful wut. Imagine the group finder: "+5. casters with lantern off-hands only"
@@mattoleary811 group finder m+ attitudes are pretty horrendous already, that tiny difference would be just that: Tiny 🤣
The cleft will become the Occulus of the expansion, mind numbingly simple if you are semi-competent but people will hate it simply because they cant mindlessly crush like Hulk Smash.
The candle light situation reminds me of the one dungeon in Cata where you fight off Tyrande. Same idea in a way. Or the last part of the dungeon in Legion where you fight Cordanna.
Big cordanna vibes, we need more of those
Do Stinky Bright Potions work in that darkness dungeon?
Wow this expansion is looking like it's going to really be great. And I will definitely level a toon or 5 through it. But after watching this it reminded me how wow hasn't ruined wow for me but the community has. Just seeing all the metas that will come from the candle mechanic alone annoys me. I wish blizzard could figure out a way to bring in new players. The wow community that participates in group content just seems so close minded to FUN. It's all about efficiency..... maybe I'm jaded but come on its a +2 do we really need to run the MDI strats lol
"The wow community that participates in group content just seems so close minded to FUN."
This.
The candle mechanic in that dungeon could be really cool or it could be really really annoying.
very excited to hear the announcement of The Legacy of The Cataclysm, which I have been eagerly anticipating and very patiently waiting for since...well, the end of The Legacy Of Wrath of the Lich King video 🤣
I mean that last part with nothing but love, I've been a fan since the Original 3 Legacy videos and I'll gladly and happily accept whatever content you put out, it's gonna be top notch regardless!
When is the war within coming out? I’ve just come back and started classic after not playing since early BFA and I may give it a go when it comes out.
Max and the guys brought up a good idea on their podcast.
Dungeon trash tends to need a lot of stops, in fact the mobs are tuned around you having stops. That's why you get mobs that have a spell that just wipes you if it goes off.
The issue is that in pug keys, or the "casual" keys, a dungeon that is simple for a group with a good kick rotation becomes a living nightmare for an unorganized group.
The cook was: what if they made a dungeon where EVERY mob was immune to kick/stops. The dungeon is tuned around you having to deal with these different spells and abilities. (Frontals, 10yd AOEs you need to run out of, etc)
If every mob is immune to stops, they can tune it knowing everyone is going to have to eat this damage or dodge it. It would also shake up oppressive metas such as VDH or other high cc comps.
Just thought it was a neat idea
This is a ridiculous idea....just go and play follower dungeons if it's that challenging to press your kick. Eating damage because you cbf is literally why they should remain in low keys
The blood moon music in the intro is peak
If a ceiling is enough to make them feel comfortable, then how are they able to relax at home? In their rooms? With a ceiling above them constantly?
They opened pandora's box with arachnophobia, now every phobia person is gonna demand their phobia gets some sort of treatment.
Gotta remove Worgen. Lupophobia and all...
@@OGDweeb oh my god I hope we get fennecaphobia, so I can always see vulpera as goblins
I would say the underground aspect is supposed to feel somewhat oppressive. So I dont mind some discomfort being down there
theres no fucking discomfort LOLLLL ... people getting weaker and weaker i would love to meet those people in real life in front of me that felt weird playing the alpha .. i would throw in a cage for 1 day straight and i would laugh at them
how do i get into alpha to practice for world first ?
Cataclysm did have some good quests with humor, one of the few things I remember about Cata when they did they leveling rework
Whoever told Christie to kill Cairney off can also get fired
5:11 I'll be real, I wasn't sold on the underground setting when TWW was first announced, I just want the zones to be big and tall. I've liked using the progenitor, Deepholm, as a benchmark for successive underground zones. Deepholm is massive and varied, I feel underground but I don't feel like I'm stuck down there. I liked Zaralek for its variety, but at many points I'd slam into the cave ceiling, or some out of the way rock formation because I'm a menace on the dragon. Based on what you've said and shown from the Ringing Deeps, I don't get any bad vibes.
If hope the zone feels better than the Cave in Dragonflight. That place felt a bit more claustrophobic with how low the ceiling was at some points and how open it was (how did that place not collapse?)
10:35 is that a steal of searing exarch from poe? mechanics look awfully familiar
Do Hunter's flares work fir these light mechanics?
It was my Genuine dream since the april fools about that dark area to have something like the darknesa thing here.
I was really excited to hear stuff about Hallowfall since that's what the thumbnail is about, but the video ended up being about ringing deeps? Very confusing because I also thought you've already done a video about ringing deeps before
hey look now WoW has a Labyrinthos too.
does preach have discord or reddit or anything the community can chat in properly?
Mythic for candle boy is going to be so much fun. Lol.
For the mine cart escort/last boss candle portion, I can think of a few possible solutions:
1) There should be a knockback that sends one player near a candle. They grab the candle and head back. (This would also make players pay attention to where the holes are during the escort so as to not be knocked back into a hole.)
2) Have candles be much closer but give a debuff on pickup. If that debuffed player picks up another candle, they receive a dot. Don't make it impossible for the debuffed person to pick up another candle. That's not fun either because hard-forcing players to each participate is annoying.
3) Allow candles to be thrown. Therefore you can have one person/multiple people throw candles along the path or in a certain area to make picking them back up faster.
Running back and forth is boring on paper and I'm surprised they started here.
There should be a crab filter that turns ceilings into spiders and floor into lava
5:48 Why do I feel that Bz saw your WING 5 vid and grabbed what you didn't like "The light ball puzzle" then make this one xD
Darkness remind me of Cordana Felsong but nicely done
I mean, all claustrophobic people are not homeless. They have much closer roofs over their heads all the time. The thing is light I would guess. So simple fix would be a light effect. make things brighter like day? Like the opposite of the inky dark potion
didnt know there was a new rol this exp candle boy looks lit lol
1:54 this is the face. Whenever people start defending BFA, this is what I remember. YAY....azerite traits....
The arathi zone looks so cool😊
Ngl. I still can’t believe public testing is a thing. Imagine having your entire expansion spoiled before it comes out. Makes zero sense to me
I recall the time Preach said he doesn't like Zelda on stream, the surprise I experienced to hear that little jingle at the start, confused me
while it looks amazing and its nice that an underground zone has a change in lighting... its just a day and night cycle like
when it comes to underground.... its almost too soon, they tried it with zaralek cavern and it was good but it just seems they're doing the same thing....
The claustrophobia thing, for me, has no legs. "I'm under a roof" - well, are you not also under a roof while you play WoW in your bedroom/study? Wowzers trousers man
my biggest question is, 'how complex are the systems going to be this time?'
I started in Vanilla and have at least touched every xpac except Pandaria (went back and did some of that but missed the whole thing until prepatch for WoD) and the thing that stands out the most is how every expansion bring more and more convoluted, layered systems. Do this to get this to trade for this so you can upgrade this, here are the 12 factions you'll need to manage and then here's 8 different currencies. The game just grows to feel unwieldy and like there's just so much you have to do just to keep up with even the casual crowd, so many steps and details to keep straight. When I was younger and possessing of more time to spend on stuff this wouldn't have been quite as big a deal, but now I'm old and struggle to find a desire to jump back into the game when I do start missing it because I remember how much there is to keep up with, how much there is to farm every week, etc.
Anyone that's looking at this seriously, can you answer me without me spending hours listening to Preach, Tali, Bellular talk about it at length? Is it actually going to be better for the people that don't have the time or energy to invest hours a day anymore or should I stick with single player games I can pause/save and walk away from?
Systems wise it looks like itll be exactly the same as post 10.1 DF. Which is to say the only power systems are gearing and the various ways to aquire it i.e. crafting, M+, raids, vault, etc. And then the upgrade system for gear which is a little bit complicated but at a conceptual level is just do content for currency you use to upgrade gear. Harder content drops higher level upgrade currency and higher ilvl gear. Thats it
@@mattoleary811 That's not so bad. Thank you.
LEGACY OF CATA ANNOUNCED LFG
0:16 bro blocked the climax 😱
I must say war within is looking really good. Though as a healer main none of the classes are jumping out at me 😭 wish some healers would get huge changes like how much love mages have gotten. Resto shaman preferably.
So glad Danuser is gone. Dude was responsible for some of the worst storylines and characters in the game.
He’s the one who wrote the N’zoth whispers which everyone loved.
@@ChinnuWoW But the Shadowland is permanent scar which change the whole lore into some deep shit ever, hope Metzen fix it to pleasure way
Claustrophobia due to a roof ? Are people really that soft ?

That's on you though :P
@@HumanThoughtExpression Somewhat maybe but I would still like to be subscribed to preach.
as far as we know Danuser wasn't laid off, he just left when blizz forced everyone back into the office because he would have had to move again
Yeah, he left last May a year ago. He lives in Minnesota
He was laid off for his my little pony storytelling. Internal sources confirmed it. DF was his baby and it was all about coming together as a family, good riddance.
@@hristopavlov298 nah, he lives in minnesota and didn't want to move back to california for no reason, so he quit
and this ooga booga cavemen idea of DF being "disneyfied" is just stupid anyway
Darkflame Cleft looks like it will be horrible for M+ because of the candle mechanic.
Blizzard could take notes from Elden Ring's Siofra River & such and have the deepest reaches of these caves be dazzled with glittering rocks that make it seem like the zone is under a starry sky, which is both eerie and jaw-dropping.
Edit: Seems like the nerubian zone has a few of that, which is great lol
LEGACY OF CATA!!!!!??!?!?!?!?!?!?!!? bout time dawg
If a game triggers a phobia, there is seriously something wrong with you and you require a professional help !
Might be ignorant take, but ppl do live in houses with roofs, giant in game zone doesnt seem like it should be an issue...
Been hoping for an invite
It’s really sad that no matter how good future expansions turn out to be, they’ll still be tainted by the dracthyr scalies running around. That can never be fixed. Unless a mod can be made where dracthyr show up as humans on your screen.
Wait Christie golden is gone? I loved her books
People complaining about not seeing the sky is just bait. It's a game, not a coffin, let the developers cook
I don't have claustrophobia (apart from very enclosed spaces where i am unable to move but i guess that's a thing most people dislike) but i must say when i heard a whole expansionpack under ground it kind of put me off.. I like being able to fly freely, with open skies. especially with dragonflying. Even the zaralek caverns i didn't spend much time in, i was quickly done with that zone *because* it lacked the open skies. I will probably play WW but i can see myself taking breaks when i am "done" because of the enclosed space. It will be a big change from dragonflight open blue skies to the darkness underground.
This, I think it's not so much about literal claustrophobia, it's that WoW is at its best when people get to hang out in lush, beautiful outdoor zones, not spend all their time underground or in caves. I was never a fan of Deepholm, and while Zaralek was okay-ish, it was still easily Dragonflight's worst zone. Making a whole expansion of that is off-putting as a concept.
The claustrophobia thing makes no sense, I think Preach got baitet by some trolls in chat, how do they play existing dungeons and raids ? how do they stay indoors lol
Youre not in a raid the entire time your playing. I am severely claustrophobic, and I love this New expansion except that detail. Its game breaking for me, i dont know if ill buy it.
@@januszpawlikowski6627 Please don't, invest the money in some grammar lessons
@@januszpawlikowski6627 My guy you're staring at a fucking screen and your entire statement makes aboslutely no fucking sense. I have really cripling fear of hights irl but that doesn't stop me from using a flying mounts in wow or play something else like spiderman xD
Claustrophobe? Do these people play and sleep under the stars? The acrophobia I get and its an easy fix but cmon wokies.
its amazing how what is seemingly to me an obvious joke, a dig at the crab filter, is flying over the head of so many
i dont get the hate for mobility mechanics, as an evoker i really like being utilized for my mobility
Looks so good that it made me buy FFXIV: Dawntrail :)
I was kinda satisfied and full with cave zones after Zaralac caverns ( claustrophobic in the long run) , maybe I'll try just for Dorn and Hallowfall and hope for 1 year expansion cycles :)
claustrophobia in a video game sound so odd to me
Come on Preach... Claustrophobia.... Really.... How are games going to get designed catering to everyones fears? You can't design something like WoW making it "comfortable" for everyone fears and phobias...
We’re killing humans in a video game… but worried about feeling claustrophobia… the people talking about this stuff: Pick me!!! pick me! Choose me…!
Ffs... Gotta build games around phobias now??
Hello!
Ppl always played dungeons underground, Caverns, etc, and never complained about claustrophobic stuff. This is just the bloody necessity to attention this new care bear generation have. F#$ off!
I am BEGGING for an invite, I've played every expansion besides vanilla, panda and cata and got into the Shadowlands beta at the VERY VERY end
It's a video game how could you be at ALL feel claustrophobic??
Clausterphobia in a videogame? Are you serious?
They should actually make pvp a fun game mode instead of using solo shuffle as a way to run 3rd party RMT for kickbacks
