Marc Mat it's so simple to get this veg style! You substitute the meat for veggie hamburger bits, BUT add in some chili powder, bit of smoked paprika or hot chili powder, pepper, "better than bouillion vegetable paste" in the meat while warming it up. As for oil you can add the same spices to some veggie oil for the fat part. Seriously, you can make Mexican or TEXMEX anything with a few basic spices and veg replacement foods.

We just made these with a few modifications after referencing other recipes and using our background in Indian cuisine: skipped the salsa, added an extra onion, 2 tsp each cumin seeds, coriander seeds, black peppercorn, 1/2 tsp marjoram, 1.5 tbsp tomato paste, 1 extra of each chile. Lastly, Monterey jack cheese instead of mozz. Sauteed onions and garlic with the tomato paste in the same meat pan before adding to the meat in our crockpot express. Toasted all whole spices on a dry pan before adding to the blender with the chiles. Slow cooked everything for an hour, but got impatient, so then pressure cooked for just 30 minutes instead of waiting the full 4 hours. Still turned out to be super tender and the best birria tacos we've had. Highly recommend taking the time to make it at home. That extra care and love really show up in the final dish.

Finally a recipe for birria that is made in a smaller quantity! Thank you so much.....I have been wanting to make this but all other recipes I found made too much and it is just the two of us old people!
This recipe is by FAR the best tacos that I have ever eaten!!! So I found this recipe a year ago and initially did it with the beef, easily this became (at the very least) a once per month recipe! Then I tried it with chicken and that is a very close contender to the beef. I do prefer it with the fatty beef because it provides more fat to skim and use as the frying oil, but if you make it with chicken and add some coconut oil into the crock pot, all of the flavors infuse into the oil. Still the beef is just perfect❤️. Much love for this recipe!
I liked how you cut time, but still decided to cook the 6hrs and not get lazy. I love a good shortcut that doesn't forfeit the end result. Had to order my peppers and Mexican oregano off Amazon and making this Monday🤤
i just made this, what a DELICIOUS recipe! the spice is so rich and warming, and the consummé makes for a perfect dip. after we finished all the tortillas i definitely still stood at the counter eating the leftover beef straight from the pot... irresistible
I made these yesterday and it came out SO good! Worth the time and amount of ingredients you put in 😍 only thing I couldn’t find was Mexican oregano so I used regular lol

@Moody Fuck Yeah bro I moved to northern California and the Mexican food is nasty out here even though Mexicans are cooking it. I went back down to east LA last month and that's the only place in the usa that the food tastes like it does in Mexico
@Moody Fuck true but that’s bc in the USA most ingredients are frozen for a long time while in Mexico everything is fresh, specially if you bought those ingredients in mercados

If going through all that trouble, I'd definitely triple this recipe. 😁 🌮
This is definitely something that I would make again. My family loved it. Thanks for your help with this Birria combo dish.
Did you know how to make it already or this video kinda help u out?
@@azulcremasoy1596 This video helped me out and I had made it before . Nevertheless it helped me out.
i just made this, what a DELICIOUS recipe! the spice is so rich and warming, and the consummé makes for a perfect dip. after we finished all the tortillas i definitely still stood at the counter eating the leftover beef straight from the pot... irresistible
Will definitely be giving this recipe a try. Looks absolutely delicious.
I made these yesterday and it came out SO good! Worth the time and amount of ingredients you put in 😍 only thing I couldn’t find was Mexican oregano so I used regular lol
What state are you in?
Omg!!!! I did it!! I made it,using a slow cooker, minus the cinnamon and cloves, but freaking DELICIOUS!! LITERALLY couldn't stop eating them, that was AWESOME!!THANK U for teaching me a new recipe!!
Yummmy!! Have a great day hope you and your family are well!!
I made these for taco tuesday a few weeks ago and these were soooooo good! OMG, can't wait to try more recipes from you.
Is it spicy.. And what does it taste like
@@fatimatoubalde4924 yup
You definitely need to try her mole recipe ❤️❤️❤️
@@fatimatoubalde4924 the only thing spicy is the salsa that you put on it but that's optional, think of beef stew but a million times better with a way better seasoned broth.
Try the pozole. It's bomb!!
These type of cooking videos brings me back to my childhood KPBS days first it was Bob Ross, then it was Yan Can Cook. I loved watching yan can cook
I have been craving birria, thank you for sharing your recipe!!!
You crave baby goats. Smh
omg!! that looks so good, I'm actually drooling right now...I so need to make it
I enjoyed this video. It's pretty much how we all cook in our kitchen rarely do we just measure every single little thing and try to make everything perfect. I like your relaxed style in this video. It's more like reality. Thank you
That looks SO good! I've actually been watching over and over, taking notes and plan on making this for Sunday dinner. Can't wait!
Update: So I made this, followed the recipe exactly and it was SO good. The broth alone is a meal. Thank you very much for the awesome recipe :)
Do you know what seasoning she put in right before the Mexican oregano?
How have I never heard of this??? Holy moley! This looks absolutely delicious. Thank you! 💗💗💗
This is very popular is Mexico and California
It’s been all over the internet. They look so good. Haven’t been able to taste one yet.
I have no clue what this is, but boy does it look phenomenal ❗
I made these for dinner tonight and the hubby is 🤤🤤 on the floor!!! So delicious!!!! I make a homemade chili purée for enchiladas that I freeze. 1 1/2 cups of that replaced ingredients 2-5 in her directions.
So amazing and the hubby says THANK YOU!!!
Yes...i got to try it.
Can’t wait to see your video of it !
Too many steps for a lazy person like me...can't I just come by for dinner?
Hehehehehe
That’s smart lol
Same
Hahahahaha best comment winner goes to you hahahaha
😂😂😂 no mames!!!
I made these about four times. Im addicted to them. I cant stop and wont stop!
Girl!!! This looks so good. I’m ready to get a plate and eat.
Not only did I feel that bite in my spirit, my ancestors felt it too.
😂
Best and easiest recipe I watched. Every other video had a thousand ingredients and steps. Can't wait to make your version
This is in my crockpot right now, I followed every step of your recipe except for cloves because I didn’t have any but I can’t wait to try it!! Just 5 more hours to cook lol 😁 thank you so much!!
These are the most unhealthy looking tacos I have ever seen in my life. I love it.
Beef fat is extremely good for you. Dont worry. I'm serious
Fattening unhealthy deliciousness
Fu Nguyen Trans fats and saturated fats.
Fu Nguyen I’m not saying otherwise, simply answering your question.
You gotta make these on special occasions not every Tuesday 😭😭
I ordered these in a Mexican restaurant last night because of your video. I usually get the same few things and don’t branch out and try new things. My husband and I absolutely loved them! ❤️
I guarantee this recipe is even better.
Stop! You're making me hungry! Lol! That looks so yummy like a good comfort food should. Yum!
These phones and apps be listening to me because I had this for the first time 2 days ago (which was fire) now it’s in my RUclips recommendations.
Check out Abuelas Kitchen and thats real Birria. This is horrific to watch. My Ancestors are cursing this
They are watching you.
I've never heard of that type of taco, and I'm old and love Mexican food. I must be living under a rock Those look delish!
I love this, here in México near my highschool there is a stand of Birria Tacos, where 1 or 2 times a week we go to eat, and the tacos look exactly as you did it, unfortunately is closed but now i can recreate this tacos🌮
Greetings from Mexico🇲🇽🤪
No seas mamon. Andas viendo esta madre en ingles para hacer tacos y estas en Mexico.
@Moody Fuck probably cuz they’re using American ingredients which aren’t as good
@Moody Fuck Yeah bro I moved to northern California and the Mexican food is nasty out here even though Mexicans are cooking it. I went back down to east LA last month and that's the only place in the usa that the food tastes like it does in Mexico
@Moody Fuck true but that’s bc in the USA most ingredients are frozen for a long time while in Mexico everything is fresh, specially if you bought those ingredients in mercados
I woke up at 6:30 to go out and buy the stuff I need.. Now I'm about to start it lol wish me luck
How did it go?
Was it worth it?
Thats going to be me in the Morning😂
@@goddessspeaks8463 lol they are fire
@@sophisticatedbadgurl im all late but it was definitely worth it I've made them twice since then
The crunch at the end said it all!! I’ll be trying this!!
I love the “good luck to you” comment when referring to Clove and cinnamon, Talk about ruining a dish when you over use those two- been there a time or 5.
Same!
Same! They're dangerous spices lmao
Nutmeg as well. Rachel Ray uses a lot in her dishes but warns bout over using it. Will give it a pungent taste.
Thanks for the tip, I may not risk it and leave it out.
Your tacos looks so delicious. Thank's for sharing. You have a wonderful day.
Thank you for sharing your delicious, authentic recipe! My family and I absolutely loved this; it was amazing. Thank you, thank you, thank you for sharing!
Yes!!, been looking forward to a birria vid!
I love that the instant pot is also a slow cooker, I actually bought it for that reason and because you can saute right in it and then slow cook because I hate using two pans!
Thank you, Simply Mama Cooks. We appreciate you showing us all of these delicious recipes. We made this in the Crock Pot, and it was really, really delicious. But, we are trying to find a good type of ramen to go with it. We kindof wanted the a thick ramen noodle, but we haven't found a good one yet.
Making this right now! Using both shanks and roast. The salsa is so good. 5 more hours to go! I’ll be making Birria tacos, quesadillas, and ramen 🤣 thank you for the recipe
