You’d think that mirror images of Diagon alley would be in other places around the country, especially nearer Scotland where Hogwarts was based? Otherwise witches and wizards would have to travel some distance to get their supplies!
A video about all the shops in Diagon Alley would be great. I saw a suggestion on making a video about Hagrid, top 10 qualities. That's also a very good idea.
I think Diagon Alley popped up around the same time as the nascent Ministry of Magic was building its headquarters in London. As the British capital city was chosen to be center of power for the wizarding community of the British Isles and Ireland, it only makes sense that there would have been a need for a commercial district to open up nearby to cater to the needs of all the new ministry employees, politicians and special interest groups who would have to do all their shopping somewhere. Overtime as the Ministry grew in size, so did its main commercial hub which also took on a life of its own.
Yes Sir I need a full list of Diagon Alley shops pls, and you missed one of the main, Flourish And Blotts. And I also know shops like Scribulus the wizarding stationery shop and Florian Fortescue Ice Cream shop and many other shops which I don't know were in the diagon alley pls make a video on that
Any grocery stores? Seems like only candy/sweets. Not sure where they shop. Hogwarts must need tons of food to feed their students especially for celebratory feasts.
This Christmas I will get to visit Diagon alley for the 1st time! So excited! Being in my 60's I cant wait.....going with my grand daughter! I will let you know my impressions after the New Year!
Can you make a video about how the Wesley’s didn’t look for Harry after he used the fireplace in the second movie/book. I always kinda thought that was hilarious. “Well, Harry’s gone…….. off to the bookstore”.
Do you think London is the financial hub of the wizarding world? Is Gringott's THE wizarding bank, or is there a different goblin bank in Switzerland that looks Gringott's as a cute little upstart? The LeStrange family had one of the oldest, deepest vaults. So, did they also have a vault in Paris, or is there no place in Paris as secure or prestigious as Gringott's?
I agree with magic it could b delivered and even appear in the pantry instantly without the family having to do anything especially if they have the billing set up thru gringots. Really tho they only need one of anything because they can multiply it with magic too so who knows they could just be endlessly copying a couple things for their whole life no store needed
@@woodyhorton8537 That wouldn't quite work indefinitely, because wizards can't prevent spoiling or deterioration to a perfect degree. For example, they can fix a rip in a pair of jeans, but if the jeans have hole that is worn through it with time, it can't be repaired. Eventually your food would just go off, so you'd need fresh. With magic in the wizarding world, even if you transfigure something to a better quality of food, the nutrition level stays the same. Turn a peace of wood into a loaf of bread, it would only have the nutrition of a block of wood.

I was just thinking and wondering how far you can travel on the floo network? I was thinking of running a shop in Diagon Alley, but living in Hogsmeade.
UK street numbers weren't put in place till the 1700's, so the street numbers probably came after. With the leaky couldron been at the start of the street in naturally gets the number 1.
Why didn't Hermione receive a warning from the ministry when she performed magic on Harry's glasses whilst in Diagon Alley? She surely had the trace on her.
In the books, it was Arthur who fixes his glasses but even if book Hermione was the fixer, they wouldn't have had a leg to stand on to send a warning because of Diagon Alley itself. The Trace doesn't tell the ministry if an underaged witch or wizard has used magic, rather more that magic was used at the current location where said underaged witch or wizard resided. Diagon Alley is full of wizards and witches performing magic and the only thing the ministry would have been able to gather that there was magic used at her current location (Diagon Alley), with no ability to determine if she was the caster or an older witch or wizard was the culprit of this. You see, the Trace was an incredibly discrimatory and for the most part useless measure, that was only effective to keep an eye on magic use by muggleborns and muggle-raised witches and wizards. In a Wizarding Household, there was nothing that the Trace could tell the ministry and it is even said that just go on the "honor system" of parents making sure that their children don't use magic outside of school (and off course, many pureblood families will happily abide by that rule /s ) and only those who are to be expected to be the only magical people in their vicinity, can be checked. Look at Harry, he was the only wizard at Little Whinging, therefore, he was immediately assumed to be responsible for any registered magic use there. Dobby used magic, Harry's Trace informed the Ministry and since to their knowledge he was only magical being that should be present there, he must have been the culprit. To see how weak this idea actually is, look at the Killing of the Riddles. Tom Riddle Jr. had the Trace, therefore the Ministry will have know that he was in the area when the Riddles were killed but seeing how there was also a clear muggle hater who was quick to confess the murders and whose wand was the murder weapon, they didn't bother with investigating Riddle. And if they did, there is no crime to visit your own uncle and the Ministry likely believed that young Riddle visited his uncle Morphin, a visit that inadvertedly tore open old wounds and gave Morphin the final push to finally kill the Riddles, after young Tom left his house. Riddle Jr. could easily lie his way out of this one as there was no proof that suggested more than Voldemort visiting Little Hangleton and there was a lot of proof that Morphin killed those muggles. So even if they question young Tom, he could say: Yes, I visited my uncle and yes, he was angry about the Riddles but what happened next, no idea. I had to stay over night in a hostel until I could return "the muggle way" I came. And seeing how he modified Morphins memories, the latter likely would have given a similar accounts of events. Riddle got away with murder while under the Trace because he had a scapegoat and a probable alibi.
I've been trying to look up Rubius Hagrid's father to see if there could be any chance of him being in the upcoming Hogwarts Legacy. Hagrid was born in 1928 and his father was a small muggle man only known in lore as Mr Hagrid. Would be amazing if we see a Hagrid in the game as an easter egg....not sure how old he would be in 1890 though.....but he was the spitting image of Rubius but very small apparently

Since I have never read the books ( it's criminal, I know). I don't know much about Hagrid's life, before the hut. How he lost his wand rights, etc. Since we just lost him, perhaps a deep dive is in order.
I remember being mistaken at first that the Ministry didn't have a frontage on Diagon. Also, during the Sorcerer's Stone movie, Ollivander mentioned while conversation with Harry that he recalls almost/every wand he ever sold/gave to certain witches & certain wizards by they're names, before Ollivander found & gave Harry his wand.
One thing I'd LOVE info about is the "poisonous candles" that are sold in Knockturn Alley.
