A lot of these sound familiar. I've been picking up letters throughout my gameplay, so i probably found a few of these already. I haven't taken a look yet since I've been working on a complete account.
I don't know about that. If that's all the detail there was, i would have preferred a quest line for each one, or something to dive deeper into their deaths like a detective. The bodies were barely noticeable during the gameplay, that i hardly remember them. So it may have been a little Easter egg kind of thing. But as for the game as a whole, there are a lot of gaps and things that could have been improved, which leads me to believe that they rushed this game a bit too far. Personally, i didn't want to end the game the way it did. And now i have little to no extracurricular activities to do except collect stuff. So I'm not sure why they had to gloss over these important details.
I hope the sequel has more rpg elements, patronuses, animagi, wand types could give early game bonuses/penalties, you could actually play thru the story as a villain, etc
@@XMillyyX the patronuses could have been narrowed down to 100 or so, maybe even less, of the most common patronuses with a handful of the cooler rare ones. It would have been a pain for them, but still. The patronus also could have been incorporeal

On #11, if you use either of the fire spells on the victim, you can release them if they are talking to you. They are a dark wizard and can’t be hit or killed by any of your spells. I have released them several times and other times I have left them to their demise.

The basilisk case always bugged me in that it also means there's a basilisk out in the wild. I do hope in the next version of HL that there's follow ups to these cases, especially concerning the basilisk. Something I haven't really heard discussed by those discussing what might be in the next version of HL -- small random encounters, continuations of things left open-ended, like these cases -- filler material for when a player is exploring the Highlands. I wonder what might be if the next version of HL takes us to Diagon Alley. Would there be a mystery case tucked away in Knockturn Alley? Jack the Ripper cases happened around the 1888's, kinda close to the 1890's events of HL. Hrm, I wonder....
I *almost* had a line in there asking: "so does this mean there's a basilisk roaming the Highlands in Hogwarts Legacy?!" I'm sure it would've been found by now, but imagine if it was actually there and just super hard to find. Could definitely see on in a DLC or sequel!
@@RetroRaconteur I would love for us to find a newly hatched basilisk or a toad on top of a chicken egg, but I think the former might mess with the lore a bit since according to Newt, there has been no known cases of basilisk breeding for 400 years. There's a body I found when I was going to Henrietta's Hideout. Don't know much about that, but I'm having a feeling the poor guy obviously got murdered by the Ashwinders. Don't know the victim heard news about the secret treasure and tried to go find it or just traveling around and ended up bumping into the Ashwinder camp. Another one, that is connected to another quest, is at a big manor near the West Manor Cape. And the Mary Portman quest? She's not the only one who got 'tied up' as her. Her next door neighbor suffered the same faith upstairs in their room. It's even more depressing when seeing it after reading a letter you find once you walk into the house!
So many little thugs in this game I still hadn’t noticed. One of the more interesting ones was accidentally unlocking an arena and stumbling on the treasure hunt sidequest.
Probably found a fair amount of these by accident and just exploring various places and caves. I wasn't aware of the challenge put down by the developers
Love this content! Great work Retro! Looks like I've happened across all of these except the Mudblood case so far it seems. Looking forward to that next possible vid 😉, i felt like a lot of notes around the map were breadcrumbs that I didn't know how to follow further hah, so many seemed like dead end mysteries left unfinished..

And even creating cross world games by implementing Ilvermorny, Uagaodou, Beuxbaton, Durmstrang…etc. Have like a decade worth of secrets, castles, wars, duels, and legendary characters would make the most epic game franchise of all time.
I don't the need for the devs to issue this detective challenge to the players. They underestimate that some players and gamers will explore way more than most and will encounter these mysteries as they explore. They should study and take notes from Super Metroid. Unless devs are giving a huge reward for the exploring players, or it's a PR and marketing ploy, don't say anything else and let the game design make the players WANT TO EXPLORE.
Callum and jocesta love pranks... And someone died because of a prank. And because we know callum is dead too, we know that callum did dangerus pranks. Are they related? Plus, they both relate to explosins
Blerg, I wish we could go back to the area where the dragon was, but it seems to be unavailable once you finish that quest. Unless I’m missing something…
It's easy to breeze straight past some of these. especially the cave ones. The Tower Tunnel one is also hidden by rocks that you have to Bombarda to see the Devil's Snare
I didn’t even know about these! Even after my play through and trying to 100% the game! The developers definitely did an amazing job with these small details! And hope they add more into the next game
This was such a fun video!! I loved the format! I haven't touched hogwarts legacy in months but now I'm going back through to see if I found all these letters. 🥰😀
I know what happened to victim number 11, during one side quest you have to go kill a Acromantula called the Absconder to get a heirloom pocket watch from a man named Milo who died trying to get spider venom, and in the same area where you find the body is near the Absconder’s nest and the fact it’s surrounded by a bunch of spider eggs my guess is that victim is Milo
Epic. I named the Absconder my mortal nemesis at LvL 17. Absconder is Lvl 30. Luckily it was my second playthrough and I paid attention in Potions and Herbology. Used Piles of potions and rose victorious haha. Fun game.
There's another one that I found that was rather peculiar and isolated. I found a dead body in a little cave, I odn't quite remember where..but it had a singular corpse, and a note beside it. All it said was MUGGLE. And it was interesting to note an NPC was standing not too far outside the cave of where I found this poor guy.
You would think that wizards would be extremely hard to kill, that even the weakest of wizards would be wise enough to be well-versed in defensive magic or equipped with decent enchanted gear lol but no, many seem to be as clueless as us muggles
I just started playing and came upon my first spider nest and there was one body that I cast the fire spell on and it freed a living wizard which got up and apperated away. I thought that there might be a dialogue but he disappeared and no prize for saving him. I wonder if I had not saved him if he would be dead later in the game?
I always thought William died from injuries given to him by the Grim and the White Wolf because his cave is so near their lair also Angus and Violet are Poppy's parents
I know im super late but there also a dead body by the ashwinders in herinta hideaway the place where you need to find the niffler in the top where the astronomy table there is a group of ashwinders looming over a dead body
There's not a note with that one though, right? I found a few random ones that didn't have a note. Definitely made me curious if they had planned for more originally or if there's more secrets we're still missing.
So... what was the answer for Hubert's mystery (Case 6)? Who was jinxing him? Why were they doing it? What jinx would have caused an explosion while leaving a cauldron and body intact?
For the follow the spiders, in the second book it takes about that taking them to an acromantula, Aragon. So maybe he was looking for acromantula Venum
Came here to comment the same. It also makes the last line of the letter really cruel. "So good to be unburdened" (can't remember exact wording) i.e. because Poppy ran away.
I don't get why when they have magic the would sent their werewolf family member away. Roaming around free its even more dangerous. While with with magic, they could make enchanted chains, a cage and a magically sealed room. In addition to just knocking him out, stunning or petrifying him the fool moon night.

I have over 900 hours, and never seen some of these. But then again, I don't tend to look for secrets most of the time.
Wow!!!
So in case02 was have a basilisk on the lose im smelling a basilisk dlc if the devs are hesitant about the chamber of secrets since it may interfere with the HP lore so this one is logical to be a future dlc
Smithy = I believe that the letter to Smithy is actually from Poppy's parents
I can post more info if needed
Someone else mentioned this too. Great catch!
When I found the Mudblood there were blackbirds circling the body.
I’m at 22% completed. I have to grow plants and make potions in the cauldron I set up. I haven’t played it in a month cause I am dreading making things to use in the game. More frustration really and I know it is just really long busy work. Fuuuuudge hahaha
This is the kind of thing I just go throught and think: Oh that's dark, but I wanna go fight somewhere else now
Just too much of a Gryffindor
Edit: I think I took a photo for every single one of those and didn't realise, dudee
Right?! Some of the stories are so heartbreaking.
I sure wish we could have grown a Dragons Egg.
Would have been pretty cool!
How do I get your green robe
Anyone know what robe that is and how I can get it?
The Gryffindor one? It's the Relic House Uniform, final reward for the Daedalian Keys quest.
This video makes so happy.
Glad you enjoyed it, Kelly! I'm honestly surprised no one else has made a similar video on the topic, especially after Chandler mentioned it directly in the HL secrets video 😄 Now I feel like I need to explore every single treasure vault to see what else I've missed!
@@RetroRaconteur my team was responsible for these NPCs, so they have a special place in our hearts. May they rest in peace 😉
1:30 only 200 hours? That's nothing.
I found them all , the only thing i missed is a broom
What gane are you playing
Hogwarts Legacy
The grim (wolf) killed the wizard writing about the grim
Oh my, so you think he took out all 3 of the wizards there? Given that it was mostly skeletal remains… 😬
Turns out I found 8 in my 105 hrs of playing
Nice!
@@RetroRaconteur Thank you for creating a cohesive narrative
@@Martyn_Wolf Thanks! Glad you enjoyed it.
Lol feels like I'm watching an episode of cheaters with your tone of voice.
difference between a mudblood and a squib?
A squib is someone born to at least one magical parent but They have no magical ability. Mudblood is a derogatory term used to describe a witch or wizard who’s muggle born.
@@RetroRaconteur nope. they're both almost useless to the wizarding world
@@usern4metak3nshow are mudbloods useless? Hermione was a mudblood, as Draco calls her 😂
@@DAN7_RUclips hermione was kinda useless except for a few spells harry and ron didn't know yet.
she was kinda there as a tag along morale support character if anything. a novelty really
@@usern4metak3ns you really need to rewatch the movies or re read the books - she was the opposite of useless
I do not manage to get to the bodies near the spiders even with aracnarfobia mod on i stil freak out its the sound and jump scares and that i know they are spiders im a Ron in this case 😂
Am I the only one unable to locate case 8?
Love the Forensic Files vibe. You might consider pro voice over work, other than your own videos obviously.
Thanks, Alex 😊
Hubert = I still think the cauldron was a portkey
I could definitely see that! It almost looks like it smashed through from the outside of the house.
thank you. you really are a gamer that loves kids :)
