There's also another Chamber of Secrets reference in the side quest "Follow the butterflies" where you literally follow butterflies to get hidden loot. You can repeat it at other locations, too, when you see a butterfly symbol on the map.
One little (and VERY easy to miss if you don't know where to look) easter egg that I think is neat is another cameo/tribute to a character from the HP universe that is played by a now-deceased actor. In the Room of Requirement quest/mission, when you first are walking through it with Prof. Weasley, on the right side of the main path you will come upon a Jack-in-the-Box that pops open as you walk by it. When it pops open revealing the "Jack" inside, they look suspiciously VERY similar to one Severus Snape, played by the late Alan Rickman of course. I thought that was really cool. All the movie references are so awesome in this game! I haven't read the books, so I didn't get many of those references, lol.
Actually, I have found 2 of those. One is the one you mentioned in the Room of Requirement. The other is in the faculty area when you first learn Alohomora and are sneaking around looking for your first Demiguise statue. It's on a shelf in one of the downstairs rooms.
The Astronomy lesson quote is an Astronomy reference. Sirius is the brightest star in the night sky, and forms part of the ‘Canis Major’ (Big Dog) constellation.

I love the theory that the basilisk in the girls dorms is actually a giant squid glitch. There are so many hilarious glitches in this game, it makes total sense, and you can definitely see in the video that there seems to be a sucker on the "tentacle" as it moves
On the stag reference.. Lily Potters patronus was a doe which is why you see both stag and doe together. Snape copied her patronus cause he "loved" her.

I think they're mistaken about the bottles by the room of requirement...they're butterbeer bottles which leads me to believe it's a nod to Dobby helping Winky throughout her butterbeer addiction because he hides her in the room of requirement after she's been on a bender.
Great video. I only just completed the Jackdaw questline so I've been to the lake with the stags and noticed that reference right away. I haven't seen any of the rest yet but I do know that the squid mural on the wall during the Jackdaw questline is house specific. Each house gets their own special part of the Jackdaw quest that others don't. I'm Hufflepuff and their unique part of the Jackdaw questline takes them to Azkhaban, which is pretty cool.
I wish we could have a triwizard tournament though, in the series, it says it hasn’t been held in 100 years, well now we are 100 years back, so the tournament would’ve been fun
You missed one to go along with the reference of The Fat Lady and the hippo picture behind the map of Argyllshire. I am fairly certain that I also picked up a letter in there that was written by The Fat Lady to her best friend, Violet. It's not actually signed "The Fat Lady", but seeing as Violet was her gossip and drinking buddy and the letter mentions procuring mead from another frame, there is a very good chance the letter was, in fact, from The Fat Lady. Also, item description in inventory says so.

Not seen anyone mention where as a boy wizard that if you try to go up the stairs in the Griffindor common room to the girls dom it turns into a slide - just like when Ron did in the Order of the Phoenix

@@AndyReloads Still a long ways out, but once I finish my Literature degree I'll likely get a teaching job at a highschool or community college, then I need to get my masters in education within 5 years (NY teaching laws are weird). By that point if I'm not already teaching at a college, I'll get a job at one and, as a college professor, I should be able to take any classes I want for free and I can upgrade to a doctorate then, which should lead to a nice salary boost. If all goes swimmingly I should be able to get all Doctored up before 2030, but I'm in no rush. It all depends on how many classes I can reasonably take while also working as a teacher full time, which I should be doing within the next 2-3 years. Plans might change, but that's where I'm at right now. If you're still doing this youtube thing by then you'll have an official doctor of literature to analyze any gaming lore you'd like at your disposal lol!

In reference to the Welsh Green dragon. I believe, and could be mistaken so I apologize if so, that Fleur battles a Welsh Green dragon in Goblet of Fire.
Something I wondered about that after re-reading philosopher stone is that did they include the room where they keep fluffy? You know the room where they held him to guard the trap door leading to where they were keeping the stone?
Another Ron reference in the game, there is a quest called "Fallow the Butterflies" this is related to when Hagrid tells Ron and Harry to "follow the spiders" and Ron says "Follow the spider's? Why couldn't it be follow the butterflies?" Because he is terrified of spider's.
For the "Snake in the common room", you can see the frame where it's clearly the head of the squid. it would have been sooooo cool if it was the snake but I think it's before tom gets there?
Another addition in game in reference to Ron, CoS they follow the spiders, but Ron says, "Why couldn't it be follow the butterflies?" Hince the side quest "follow the butterflies. "
Not sure yet if it was mentioned in the previous video, but that dragon hedge behind the greenhouses isn't the only one. There's also one at the edge of Hogsmeade that does the same thing, and if I recall, it's rather larger. It's right before you get to a sitting area with an eyeball chest and a Wizard's Field Guide page.
So, some of the main quests are different depending upon the house you are in. I started the first time in Gryffindor, and decide to play as a Ravenclaw for the second. These different houses had completely different ways of reaching and completing the Jackdaw quest.
For the one about the butter beer in the pot, I think it could be a reference to Winkie the house elf who in the books gets drunk because her old master died and she has to work at Hogwarts and Dobby has to hide in the Room of Requirement.
9:55 this theory is actually fake sadly. You don't get to see the basilisk in game. Its not true because the snake is coming from a wall and doesn't really have enough room or anywhere to go to slither across the hallway.
1:00 It certainly could be and likely is a reference to Sirius Black in the game... However, in astronomy Sirius is a binary star system and is part of the Canis Major constellation. Often called "The Dog Star" despite actually being 2 stars. While talking about all of the Ron Weasley references I'm a little surprised you didn't mention the "Follow the Butterflies" side quests. Such a very obvious reference to Ron. I need to play this game again. I have it on PS5. I'm considering getting a Switch copy so I can play it portably. Not Sure if the PlayStation exclusive quest has been released on other systems yet though. And considering that's the most fun quest in the whole game, it's a little sad not everyone initially had the chance to play it.
If you look at the Basilisk in slow motion you can actually make out the details and I swear I do see a Squid not a Basilisk you can clearly make out the cone top, eyes and tentacles

Trelawny wasn't 100% wrong because us, as the reader/viewer BELIEVE she has it wrong when she sees a black dog and we later find out Sirius can turn into one, Harry "SPOILER ALERT!!!!* DOES die. When is it Sirius and when is it The Grim? That's for us to decide I guess (although I assume J.K knows). Also: "Sirius is the brightest star in the night sky. The star is designated α Canis Majoris, Latinized to Alpha Canis Majoris" and "Canis is a genus of the Caninae which includes multiple extant species, such as wolves, dogs, coyotes, and golden jackals." So not really a reference to Sirius Black, more a legit fact about the star itself

Yes they're talking about the Star but it's obvious they've chosen Sirius because of his inclusion in the series and not because of it being some random Dog star, so it is an easter egg, not sure what you're getting at

Is it possible that some of the Hogwarts Castle side quests are unavailable after reaching a certain part in the story? I feel like I missed so many on my first playthrough and I'm not sure why.
Apart from the house specific quests, all other general world quests should be available to you mate, is there a particular one you have in mind that you think you've missed?

I wanna debunk a few "easter eggs" ive seen in other videos. First the grave behind hagrids hut...been said its a tribute, but many of the same gravestones can be found all over the map. Second is the portrait of Dumbledore....Ive seen at least 2 of the same portrait in different places...doesn't mean its not a tribute but not a one off thing...
Definitely mate, I think they've re-used assets in this regard but still a cool nod to those easter eggs I reckon; but we could also be wrong, and they're just random. Either way, great to theorise on lol!

It also flies over the map and you can find him in game long before the quest with poppy.

The squid is part of the quest only or Slytherins, each house has a different version of how to get to the pages.

Yes in the lore boys weren’t allowed to enter the girls dorms; stairs turn into slides as a preventative measure
It's different for some common rooms. In Ravenclaw the girls rooms are guarded by suits of armor who block you with their weapons.

To add to the guy that hatched the basilisk egg - in early game if you check the newspaper stand in hogsmede there's an article about the raid
Something I wondered about that after re-reading philosopher stone is that did they include the room where they keep fluffy? You know the room where they held him to guard the trap door leading to where they were keeping the stone?
Another Ron reference in the game, there is a quest called "Fallow the Butterflies" this is related to when Hagrid tells Ron and Harry to "follow the spiders" and Ron says "Follow the spider's? Why couldn't it be follow the butterflies?" Because he is terrified of spider's.
Sirius is also a constellation which is probably the reason for the mention of the name.
For the "Snake in the common room", you can see the frame where it's clearly the head of the squid. it would have been sooooo cool if it was the snake but I think it's before tom gets there?

Not sure yet if it was mentioned in the previous video, but that dragon hedge behind the greenhouses isn't the only one. There's also one at the edge of Hogsmeade that does the same thing, and if I recall, it's rather larger. It's right before you get to a sitting area with an eyeball chest and a Wizard's Field Guide page.
So, some of the main quests are different depending upon the house you are in. I started the first time in Gryffindor, and decide to play as a Ravenclaw for the second. These different houses had completely different ways of reaching and completing the Jackdaw quest.

For the one about the butter beer in the pot, I think it could be a reference to Winkie the house elf who in the books gets drunk because her old master died and she has to work at Hogwarts and Dobby has to hide in the Room of Requirement.
9:55 this theory is actually fake sadly. You don't get to see the basilisk in game. Its not true because the snake is coming from a wall and doesn't really have enough room or anywhere to go to slither across the hallway.

1:00 It certainly could be and likely is a reference to Sirius Black in the game... However, in astronomy Sirius is a binary star system and is part of the Canis Major constellation. Often called "The Dog Star" despite actually being 2 stars.
While talking about all of the Ron Weasley references I'm a little surprised you didn't mention the "Follow the Butterflies" side quests. Such a very obvious reference to Ron.
I need to play this game again. I have it on PS5. I'm considering getting a Switch copy so I can play it portably. Not Sure if the PlayStation exclusive quest has been released on other systems yet though. And considering that's the most fun quest in the whole game, it's a little sad not everyone initially had the chance to play it.

If you look at the Basilisk in slow motion you can actually make out the details and I swear I do see a Squid not a Basilisk you can clearly make out the cone top, eyes and tentacles

Trelawny wasn't 100% wrong because us, as the reader/viewer BELIEVE she has it wrong when she sees a black dog and we later find out Sirius can turn into one, Harry "SPOILER ALERT!!!!* DOES die. When is it Sirius and when is it The Grim? That's for us to decide I guess (although I assume J.K knows). Also: "Sirius is the brightest star in the night sky. The star is designated α Canis Majoris, Latinized to Alpha Canis Majoris" and "Canis is a genus of the Caninae which includes multiple extant species, such as wolves, dogs, coyotes, and golden jackals." So not really a reference to Sirius Black, more a legit fact about the star itself

Is it possible that some of the Hogwarts Castle side quests are unavailable after reaching a certain part in the story? I feel like I missed so many on my first playthrough and I'm not sure why.
Apart from the house specific quests, all other general world quests should be available to you mate, is there a particular one you have in mind that you think you've missed?

I wanna debunk a few "easter eggs" ive seen in other videos. First the grave behind hagrids hut...been said its a tribute, but many of the same gravestones can be found all over the map. Second is the portrait of Dumbledore....Ive seen at least 2 of the same portrait in different places...doesn't mean its not a tribute but not a one off thing...
Definitely mate, I think they've re-used assets in this regard but still a cool nod to those easter eggs I reckon; but we could also be wrong, and they're just random. Either way, great to theorise on lol!
