Oh, forgot to add that the Brum car at 17:15 was from a British series that ran from 1991 - 2002. I saw it and was transported back to my kids childhood. We had several Brum videos from the 1990s. My kids watched them all the time. We loved Brum!
I now live in Louisiana although I’m originally from Rhode Island. I drove my mother to Vermont to visit her brother in around 1999. We drove to the coast of Maine and visited Kenneybunkport. Had a great last lobster dinner there. I really enjoy your programs, the virus has been a trial, but looking on the bright side I made new great friends, You, the crazy lamp lady, Misty, Jeffery and Barb and many more. I’m a retired school teacher and bookstore owner. The Richard Scarry book you bought for your boys is great. He has lots of books in print and they are great for language development. Keep filming fun shopping trips. Barbara
I do pick up single saucers and have used them as gifts. I wrap up a folded wash cloth and a decorative soap bar, along with the saucer, in celophane. It makes a pretty soap dish. A cute cat toy, jingle collar, and a bag of cat nip/can of cat food on a saucer, makes a nice gift, as well. And voila, the saucer becomes a fancy kitty dish. I gather Christmas themed saucers all year, to give cookies. Then the saucer can be left out for Santa. (I've even given a bag of mini carrots for a Santa/saucer gift). P.s. would love for you to do a tour of your booth. If you're interested.
The Sorrento music box was awesome. I sell them all the time. Many are just musical. They are worth money. You have a fun Goodwill. Good variety of things to look at.
Enjoyed your video very much..Your commentary is interesting, very informative, and easy too listen to.I was amazed at how I was drawn to most of the same things you are..Your local Goodwill was certainly well organized and neatly priced showing the color codes.Prices not too bad either. I recently moved to North Georgia, and there are many Goodwills throughout my area.In the Tennessee Valley “district” we have Senior Wed.,where we get 30% off. Also, first Sat. of the month is half off everything ! I was disappointed to find that other stores out of my area don’t participate in this. Pricing can be interesting,I have noticed a trend recently to overprice certain things they see as “valuable” Possibly this is to discourage us re-sellers? There is lots to choose from in merchandise here in the South. It’s quite different from my native California, and Hawaii where I lived for 24 yrs.. I think the farther East you get, the more you will find older items. Different parts of the country seem to have different things. Will look forward to your videos!
You asked what attracted me in Goodwill and that attraction is Christmas - I’m always looking for vintage Christmas! We also look through dishes, pots, pans, blankets and Childrens’ books to donate but when it’s just for ME, i love Christmas! 😄
Drawn to oval or hexagon shaped frames, mirrors of all shapes and sizes, 😊😊cliches, silver plated trays, footed cake plates, transfer ware place settings to mix and march, cobalt glassware
I’m always drawn to holiday and patriotic stuff and blue and white dish ware. The black dish with the handle and recessed bottom would look really cute with small pumpkins in the bottom for Halloween. I would have definitely bought that! Thanks for sharing your shopping trip. It’s fun to see stuff from other stores.cute candy cane vase. I buy toys for my grandchildren but they have to be good quality and clean. But I always sanitize them to be safe.have a great weekend ❤️🌻🌞☮️
The music box is just a music box. The wood is very pretty I think that is from the 1980s. I'm drawn to the corning ware, I use it for everyday dishes, safe for oven, dishwasher etc.
I have been to Bangor. My Uncle Jack Wilbur was actually from a small town just outside of there. Can't remember the name. We use to take the train up from Massachusetts to visit. When I was little.
Family vacations when young, Goose Rocks B., Wells. Honeymooned Ogunquit. Last visit 29 years ago. I think too cold for me now. Look for white mugs because they disappear in #’s. Copper kitchen, unique glass jars.
I know this isn't answering your question because I have not been to Maine but your right I would love to visit there! I love watching North Woods Law which focuses on Maine. I find it very neat there!
I have lived in Limington, been to Limerick, Cornish, Keasar Falls, Porter, Acton, Portland, South Portland, Westbrook, Scarborough, Saco, Biddeford, Kennebunk, Lewiston, Augusta, Lincoln, Princeton, Lee, Perry, Gorham, Falmouth, Alfred, Bewick, South Berwick, North Berwick, and so many more that I can't think of them all
music boxes i believe been around since the 1500s . they are one of the first forms of music that are kinda like a recording and back in day were large . they can be worth thousands of dollars . if you wanted it for jewelry you would want a musical jewelry box . what you looked at is a music box
Build a Bears, Corningware, Wedgwood, Starbucks mugs, Yankee Candle, Bath and Body Works candles, semiprecious gemstone sterling jewelry. Once in a blue moon I find a Furby and try to get it fixed up and working. I like cute farm animals like cows, pigs and chickens for my kitchen decor. If I find a made in Germany beer stein I always get it.
Yes! They work so well for that. A few people have got mad at me for using a nice saucer for a plant lol I sat better than the trash where it was heading.’🤷🏻♀️
Seeing the lacquered music box takes me back, they were popular in the early 80s. I had one that was a slight bit bigger with a very small jewelry compartment.
That is so funny you found something from Cypress Gardens. That's an amusement park that used to have stunning gardens you could stroll through and see all the beautiful flowers and they also had a ski show and a rides for the kids and now its a Legoland. I live in Polk County where this is. That's for the wonderful flash back.
Hi! I love your channel and i really liked that Maine Newspaper Mug. Maine is my favorite place to be and i can’t wait to move there someday. I’ve stayed in Portland, Machias, Boothbay Harbor, Bar Harbor, Harrison and camped in Ellsworth. I had a vacation planned this month in Maine that i had to cancel.
I look for pictures , I'm a crafter so craft items to work with. Small bowls I can use to place items around my craft room. I love to shop in my room. like a small vintage store . Thank you for sharing .
the flowered egg is beautiful I would have taken it for myself. Completely right with the toys, I also keep an eye on them. Because some toys are fun for certain ages and then it's done. I have that with my 4 year old right now hahahaha
My parents live in Andover. I have relatives in Mexico, Kennebunkport and Portland. Have been all over the state. My Grandmothers family used to run Bosebuck Mountain Camps in Errol. Can't wait to visit again!
Hi Olive in Altoona Pennsylvania and was amazed to see the Altoona railroad mug there!! We have as far as Foucault Maine where we did some awesome whale watching.
I lived in Bath Maine for a year while my husband was stationed there. I worked at the local printing company downtown and we rented an apartment above the carriage house connected to one of the giant palatial homes in the area. Circa 1990. Being from AZ, living there was the coldest I've ever been.
A lot of good stuff there! I think I would have taken that car beer cooler to resell. Could have shipped in a large envelope! And as for what I'm drawn to in thrift stores - trains. Anything train-related, I can't resist! Never been to Maine, but it's on my bucket list. Great video, Nicole!
Vintage frog, turtle, owl, and penguin figurines...any vintage pottery, for starters. Try to stay away from the newer "made in China" items. I would and do mix and match cups and saucers. My favorites in this area is the vintage heavy restaurant ware...TEPCO, BUFFELO, and others. I run in to many piggy banks...guess savers start out with good intentions! I too, love trains, both Lionel and prototype...that locomotive mug was a neat piece! Your stores out pace ours here in San Francisco...out here, they are going "modern"...like IKEA outlets, sad! That yellow toy "flivver" was a cute piece. I have picked up some cute modern toys to put beside the vintage ones I have.
I love Maine! One of my favorite states. I’ve been there three times when I was married, drove straight through to Acadia National Park. A few years ago I had to go again, just me and my 16 year old. I traveled how I like... take my time, see the sites, this time we stopped in Portland overnight explored and took the scenic route up the coast all the ay to Ellsworth and on to Mt Desert Island. I love the coast and ocean in Maine. I miss it and need to go back soon!
My husband is from Old Orchard Beach , Maine and we used to live in Biddeford, Maine. We Have been on multiple whale watches in Kennebunk, Maine and my mother-in-law lives near Bangor, Maine. I once went to a great hot air balloon festival in Lewiston, Maine. I have explored lighthouses in Portland, Cape Elizabeth, and 2 Lights state park. I have explored beaches around the same areas and watched them pull taffy in York, Maine. I even saw a large chocolate moose at Len Libby's in Scarborough, Maine!! That is just some of my Maine adventures, lol. We now live in Missouri where i am from! What part of Maine are you from, Nicole?
Cypress Gardens Florida is in Winter Haven, Florida. I grew up in Winter Haven, It is less than 30 miles from Disney. Cypress Gardens was bought by Legoland but they still have a section dedicated to Cypress Gardens. Water ski shows were the big draw to Cypress Gardens.
New subbie, very fun. I'm a seller and have a booth but in Ohio. We have different selling items/points here. Online says NO to chipped enamel ware because it can continue to chip and you can swallow it. Never been to Maine but would love to go some day.
Nicole, the music boxes that are like that are pretty collectable. I bought my mother one about 15 or 20 years ago and paid over $100. They can not only be inlaid, but different artists hand paint some of them. I enjoyed this video!!!
I always head to the music, vinyl, cd's, cassettes'. Mostly stuff I already have. But you find some unique and hard to fine stuff in thrift stores. I collect all I can get. Sometimes you find stuff you never expect.
Drove Rt. 302 from New Hampshire to Portland. Went to Cape Elizabeth, Portland Head Light, on to LL Bean in Freeport,. Drove the coastline back to New Hampshire and on to Vermont. I’d love to see more of Maine. It’s a gorgeous state - but it IS huge! My neighbor is touring a lot of Maine this week - can’t wait to hear about the trip. Like they say, “Maine has five seasons - summer, fall, winter, MUD, and spring.”
Never been, but always wanted to visit your state. I was hooked on the idea then Sarah plain and tall came out. And I was a goner. Enamel wear is ok to use even with a chip or two in them. That roaster was unusual haven’t seen handles located like that. Love that yell car you picked up. My great grandfathers as an engineer on a train.
The crazing that you disliked on the large bowl is a TYPE of gaze that when the ceramic piece is fired in the kiln, causes the crazing affect. It does not necessary mean it's old. It's just a type of glaze.
Nothing else goes inside the music box. It's just simply a music box. I have one just like it that was my great grandmothers, and it plays Send in the Clowns.
Hello....I live in Texas and my husband and I rode our Harley to Laconia, New Hampshire to the motorcycle rally and rode over to Kennebunkport while we were in the area....had some wonderful seafood!!! Its beautiful there!!! Love your videos...
The music box is from Sorrento, Italy. It's inlaid. The music box inside was made in Switzerland. I bought a similar music box in Italy years ago. They still sell them there.
My son and I drove from the south up as far as Portland. I loved it and would love to come again and spend more time. We live in Seattle, Wa. So not an easy trip.
I've never been to Maine. My husband knows that Maine and Vermont are next up on my list of places to visit. Things I'm drawn to are roosters and other farm animals and I always have to look at every mug on the shelf.
Piggy bank at one time were only made with the money slot. The thought was for savings and you would have the break to collect. Made you save your brother and Grandma live in Maine. We’re from Massachusetts. Loved that train coffee mug. I heard about the enamel to have lead in the older paint. I’m not 100% sure that’s correct it’s just what I heard. I personally loved the music box. It’s just a pretty piece that plays music.
I love watching your videos....to see what treasures you find. I was wondering how often do you go to the thrift store? I am finding I am way to addicted to shopping at the thrift stores...lol...Great job!
New to your channel you show everything at a good pace. I can get a good look. Your goodwill carries alot of items that remind me of my childhood. I have used vintage saucers as candle holders or as coasters. I will keep watching. 🙂
Been to Maine, California girl myself was shocked how much I loved the ruralness and quiet gentle nature out there. It was stunningly gorgeous. I don't know which city it was, went with my parents to visit my step dad's brother and family. Wonderfully fun time.
We’ve vacationed in Maine the last two years. Renting a cottage on Penobscot Bay. So we’ve picked at some great local private places and the bins up there. Several goodwills a Salvation Army or two and some flea markets. Always come home with some great stuff.
I live in Mass but I have a little lakehouse in Maine and a little beach condo in Maine as well. Maine is my getaway and I love it. I’ve been to GW outlet a few times while I was up there
My husband and I spent a week in Massachusetts and did day trips to Maine and Vermont. We went to Bangor (huge Stephen King fan) and Portland. We loved it!
I got to come to Maine. We went to the arts areas Portland and the coast. southern areas. it is a great state and so pretty. wish I had thought of going to the thrift stores then. lol We went to the National park Acadia.
I not only came to Maine but we bought a Victorian house in Rockland Maine mid coast. Back in tenn. now, taxes are to high in Maine. But it was very beautiful.
Taxes are high here! I agree! I thought Lepage would get them down but they are just going up again with the new governor. Rockland is nice! We like to walk the breakwater there. 😊
Went to ME this May. I loved it. I only went to Portland and Kennebunk. I would love to drive around for a couple of weeks to visit the many small towns!
Enjoyed shopping with you 🥰 my dad retired from railroad too. I've never been to Maine but I'll come someday probably I love to travel. Thanks for sharing.
I know its not necessarily vintage but that dansk ivy bowl you picked up is a good find. I gravitate towards clothes since I sell on Poshmark. For personal items I love the craft and glassware area. I'm pretty eclectic as well and could spend hours looking at everything if I could.
Our little BIG state has had a string of luck with various reality shows. Very cool! I have seen that show a few times. We have another one that follows our forest rangers around as well. North Woods Law I think it’s called.
Oh, forgot to add that the Brum car at 17:15 was from a British series that ran from 1991 - 2002.

I enjoy how you do your channel. You go slow enough to see items, give resellers good tips, and keep the focus on pieces! Thank you.
The Sorrento music box was awesome. I sell them all the time. Many are just musical. They are worth money. You have a fun Goodwill. Good variety of things to look at.
I always see pumpkins and owls, and they are displayed throughout my home all year long.

So many seem to go on a race or something. I love the comments you make throughout too.
I have been to Bangor. My Uncle Jack Wilbur was actually from a small town just outside of there. Can't remember the name. We use to take the train up from Massachusetts to visit. When I was little.
Vintage 40’s glasses I am attracted to. Also floral vintage items.
Me and you both
Just saw the mug that said Bangor Maine. My mom grew up in Dexter Maine and we go up every summer to a lake up there. Such a pretty place.
Family vacations when young, Goose Rocks B., Wells. Honeymooned Ogunquit. Last visit 29 years ago. I think too cold for me now. Look for white mugs because they disappear in #’s. Copper kitchen, unique glass jars.

Me! We lived there for a year.🦀 Worked in Bangor, lived in Brewer.
Circa 1998? Loved it there! 😍
That station wagon beer holder is so funny!

I have picked up a few stunning saucers and used them for candles or for jewelry on my bathroom counter
That’s a good repurpose! There are so many pretty ones!
The newer enamel ware has chipping issues. I've been told it's not safe for food, once it's chipped on the inside.
I pick up beautiful or unusual saucers to use under potted plants or to add to the pots.
Yes! They work so well for that. A few people have got mad at me for using a nice saucer for a plant lol I sat better than the trash where it was heading.’🤷🏻♀️
I nearly had a collapse when you put the tea tile back! I have been collecting them for a long time!!
Seeing the lacquered music box takes me back, they were popular in the early 80s. I had one that was a slight bit bigger with a very small jewelry compartment.

Oh really!? So it it vintage! Thanks for the history! 😊
Yes definitely vintage. It opened in 1936 as a botanical garden and closed in 2009 and that's when it became LEGOLAND.
I went to Cypress Gardens in the mid-1960s. Loved it!
I use to love to go theit then, i'm a Floridiand. Now it's Legoland. Wouldn't interest me now.
Hi,love your vids,yes I would pick up the saucer,anything that looks funcky,unique,different, I take with me,no regrets, lol have a nice day💙💜💛💚

I love bowls, old treasures, throws and kitchy things!
Asparagus plates may have been more modern but I would have got them in a heat beat. They are whimsical, and fun. I have an asparagus cookie jar.

Birds! That lil sign and trinket box with the peacock would have been mine!! I also liked the yellow enamel pot! I’d use it as a planter
the flowered egg is beautiful I would have taken it for myself. Completely right with the toys, I also keep an eye on them. Because some toys are fun for certain ages and then it's done. I have that with my 4 year old right now hahahaha
Music boxes use to be very popular. Very relaxing. No need for a jewelry tray in all

The music box is from Sorrento, Italy. It's inlaid. The music box inside was made in Switzerland. I bought a similar music box in Italy years ago. They still sell them there.
Thanks! I have never seen them without some sort of multi use to them like that.
You have the best goodwill stores.I love your channel. Thanks for sharing.

I am drawn to dishware and holiday decor
Mayor McCheese!!! I bought one of those for my husband after he was elected Mayor last year!
Those McDonald's glasses were popular when I was young but were recalled because the paint is lead based.
I always seem to gravitate towards giraffes. Whether it be figurines, clothing, pictures, stuffed animals anything .
Piggy bank at one time were only made with the money slot. The thought was for savings and you would have the break to collect. Made you save your brother and Grandma live in Maine. My sister in law lives in Blue Hill. Beautiful. It’s so nice to visit, which I do as often as I can.
Yes! We do have a lot of “stuff” here! Thanks for watching! 💕

Awesome! Stephen Kings house is very cool!
I really like collector plates. But is there a market for them? Like Norman Rockwell plates?
I got to come to Maine. We went to the arts areas Portland and the coast. southern areas. it is a great state and so pretty. wish I had thought of going to the thrift stores then. lol
We went to the National park Acadia.

Kennebunk area is nice!
We live in SE NC and went to Kennebunkport. I loved it. Beautiful place and great seafood.
Totally mix & match cups and saucers as long as they are in the same color family.
Enjoyed shopping with you 🥰 my dad retired from railroad too. I've never been to Maine but I'll come someday probably I love to travel. Thanks for sharing.
Haven't been to Maine yet, but my best friend and I want to go in the fall. My brother loves Maine and is thinking about retiring there.
I know its not necessarily vintage but that dansk ivy bowl you picked up is a good find. I gravitate towards clothes since I sell on Poshmark. For personal items I love the craft and glassware area. I'm pretty eclectic as well and could spend hours looking at everything if I could.
I always look for quilts
I gravitate to the craft section, glass and vintage next and the blankets and linens then to furniture 😀
I just came back from Maine yesterday. Mostly Skowhegan, but did make a trip to the Trampoline Park in Orono.
Oh nice! I went to a 10 mile yard sale in skowhegan a few weeks back! 💕
I have never been to Maine would love to see it. I watch Maine Cabin Masters every week and it’s so beautiful there.
Our little BIG state has had a string of luck with various reality shows. Very cool! I have seen that show a few times. We have another one that follows our forest rangers around as well. North Woods Law I think it’s called.
So glad I found your channel.
