and incidentally I'm going to write it here, I've been planning to do for a month actually.. so during the first minute I just wanted to write that you're a word's wont' man.. but that electric guitar line did its job, now I acknowledge that last piece, but anyways, a month ago I was looking for a tuning around a perfect fourth down, so I thought about an appropriate tuning for a 7 string guitar, I've written the note values on a piece of paper and discovered that baritone guitars do exist! my motivation was my voice which can hardly hit even the baritone notes, so I thought it would be great to just tune everything down and be able to sing something like wish you were here/dive(nirvana)/1979 as anyone with a fitting voice woud do on a normal guitar.. so I also checked out some videos and one of them was yours! and then I already made my mind (and actually I did buy that guitar in the end!) but I just kept on scrolling through the videos during several days, and then I heard words won't and i thought it's just incredible.. I should say this piece struck me more than anything probably in a year or several years.. so I thought like, could this guy even talk, I mean... like what is a person that could have come up with something so impressive as that? and relieved, I realized in several moments, that actually it was your conversational video about baritone guitars that I heard at first where you played a part of words won't in the end.. so I got absolutely satisfied and grounded :-D I'm gonna listen to it right now, cheers, drank 2 beers, admiration & big hug from moscow, RU
Congrats on another stellar composition. Wasn't expecting the electric guitar, nice touch! Do you need long thumbnails to do the up thumb strokes comfortably on the guitar? I try and it feels so awkward, like I have to angle my thumb in a funny way. A starter tutorial exercise to explore the up/down thumb in your rhythm technique style would be lovely. I quickly realized from your other videos that it takes a lot of practice to get to your level of fluidity. Cheers!
The upstroke isn't actually done with my thumb - it only looks that way because I tuck my fingers into my palm when I play. It's actually done with my first finger. I alternate between to the two! A video could still be interesting though. Glad you enjoyed the tune!
ok, Tom, I'm writing it after actually even during the first listening to the tune, so I've probably just started to enjoy it during the last minute.. sooo.. initially I just wanted to write what I'll write in the end, but due to that change I'd like to prop this tune even after the first listening.. I should admit, there is some delicacy in (as I've perceived it) the intro is quite plain/prog/soulless, however when you give it some time, it develops into something catchy, and also I'd like to praise that you arent' afraid of using 2 guitars, that's so good because it's not always that you can develop an idea fully with just a solo part. aand that electric guitar was the prog element that got me actually! not the initial acoustic riff that is probably 2024 prog, but that addition of a solo guitar basically made things right.. anyways.. I need to write one more thing
I think the tuning listed on your sheet music is incorrect. It's marked as being played in E standard. When I play it through guitar pro, the timing of the notes sounds correct but something sounds off. I think it's from a miss-tuning. Can you verify if my assumption is correct? Thanks
My EP called 'HUMMINGBIRD' comes out everywhere on Friday! Thanks for watching, guys.
The moment that electric guitar entered the stage it gave me goosebumps, exceptional work! 🍻🍻🍻
Great stuff!! Wonderful composition, performance, recording, and video!!

@@TomInBoston Wow thanks for the insight! Stuff moves so fast it's hard for me to pick up what the technique is. Keep up what you're doing!

Beautiful playing and melodies, what guitar is that?
The guitar is a Stonebridge 23-CR i've had for like 14 years. These days you can buy the same model from the original manufacturer Furch.
