I keep on hoping for someone to come up with a really solid joke about us that can get spread the way we can religious jokes. We want to laugh at ourselves too, and we demand equal representation XD
I liked the Pete Holmes joke talking about the idea that nothing led to everything. It's hard to make fun of someone believing in God's existence if you believe nothing started everything because nothing definitely doesn't exist lol
Yet atheists don’t make that claim. So it remains easy to poke fun at believers since their claims are based on ridiculous books and special feelings. No wonder theism is fading.

I was ambivalent to christianity for a long time. I grew up in Sweden in the 1980s in a culture that had been completely molded by socialism. That molding certainly extended to our state church and still exists today. Many of our priests are straight-up communists and more interested in politics than religion. I became an atheist in the 1990s as an act of defiance against socialism. I've grown closer to God in recent years but there are few options for organized christianity in Sweden besides the state church.
His woman drivers joke in the Weekly Update (or whatever it was called) has lived in my head rent free for years. It's such a treat to get three punchlines for the price of one.
1) Dane Cook being "raised Catholic" does not mean he is a Christian. I don’t care what he was raised, I care what he believes. And his lifestyle choices for a very long time were not exactly God-fearing, and one of the reasons he fell out of favor is because he married someone MUCH younger than himself who quite obviously was a minor when they got together. 2) No Tim Hawkins?!? 3) No Jon Crist?!? 4) Jeff Allen is amazing and hilarious and also happens to have a heart-wrenching testimony, and his newer stuff is even better. He experienced a renaissance during COVID with a performance on Dry Bar Comedy and it is GREAT!
@@bigd5773 I wasn't aware of this, but upon research, it does sound like it wasn't a good situation, however, I will say it sounds less like SA, and more like he was dating in a secular/worldly way, not what would be considered a traditional Christian way. How can someone think a random explosion would just happen to create a universe that has a properly rotating solar system that has a planet with just the right environment to create several different species of life including intelligent beings? It’s far more believable that an intelligent God did all that than a random explosion.
The big bang wasn't an explosion, it was expansion of spacetime. I don't know what caused it so don't ask. I'm not arguing about religion, just correcting you so🤷
That's what I'm telling every atheist I got into argument with. If we die and "there's no god", I said fine, I won't get punished or rewarded for the things I've done, I would just cease to exist. Thanks for exposing me to him. South Park still wins in the who has made the best jokes about atheists. But that song routine was very quite clever.
I keep on hoping for someone to come up with a really solid joke about us that can get spread the way we can religious jokes. We want to laugh at ourselves too, and we demand equal representation XD
"You print the bible on him" 😂 Nice punchline. I was like "Ok bro you dragging it too much"
If you're doing this again, Michael Junior would be a good christian comedian to use
Love him!! ❤
Yes! He’s amazing!
Yes more Michael Jr!!
Jeff Allen is great, I've watched all his specials on drybar and he keeps me laughing the whole time
Forgot to mention John Crist, he's one of the best also
@@janellriggs4269 Jeff is my favorite!!
Tim Hawkins next time!
Yes, Tim Hawkins!
9:50 is just hilarious!
It's not that I believe we came from nothing, rather it's just the fact that we don't really know. I don't know where we came from. But there were a lot of things we didn't know in the past that we know today, aren't there? Perhaps the future humans will learn about it, but not us. That's what I believe. You might say "Why don't you just believe the bible if you don't have anything to believe in" and my response is that instead of believing in something unprovable, I would rather believe that we will prove it, but not now.
@@matthewsisti4382 no one said everything came from nothing.
Yet another misunderstanding of reality by a theist…
6:00 - I never understood all the Dane hate. Is he the best comic? Certainly not. But he has some solid jokes, especially on his first 3 albums. And he revolutionized the comedian/fan relationship and was one of the pioneers to using social media to promote himself.
I agree with Michael, we need a Dane-ssance.
You know how it is, hating people becomes trendy and people love jumping on trains. Mob mentality, people love being a part of something. I’m with you, I enjoy some of his comedy
I think norm Macdonald is the greatest comedian of our time but I’m also not a narrow minded idiot so I also like other comedians who aren’t as good like Dane cook. It’s a character flaw I know, to see value in as many things as I can
@@MikeMarlowe-ym3zy norm is definitely one of the goats, but comedy is subjective.
Dane was partly responsible for getting into stand up comedy - I was a teenager when he did Harmful if Swallowed and Retaliation, so I was his prime demographic.
My tastes have changed since then and there are comics with far more longevity (Louis CK, Chapelle, Burr, etc), but Dane doesn't deserve all the hate he gets imo. He had his time and place.
that tree ending tho 💀
Haha I noticed that too! With the DW logo at the end.💀
Glad to see Brad Stine represented here.
I like and appreciate Michael Knowles interpretations of many clips -- there is a calmness plus general rationalization that cannot be easily argued. AND one massive point to Mr Knowles is his affection for people taking the micky out of him - he appears to appreciate it when done well -=- Live Long Mr Knowles
4:35 I love this Dane Cook bit 😂
Subtly quotes the Act of Contrition like it's your own wisdom. I'm onto you, Knowles
Explain please
@@oddinary_kayone of the traditional acts of contrition Catholics know involves saying you are sorry for your sins not only because of the “loss of Heaven and the pains of Hell” but also because they offend God “who is all good and deserving of all my love”
@@NateDulcimer oh. Thank you
Michael casually throwing in the Best lines of the act of contrition. Nice
I think your producers played fast and loose with the term "Christian" comedian...lol! Where were Mark Lowery, John Crist, Michael Jr, Tim Hawkins...?
I'd ad Henry Cho to that list!
Schulz is definitely not Christian
John Crist has gone a little downhill, but I do enjoy his work.
I was close on Dane Cooks punch line, I was expecting him to say be used to build a church.
Micheal please kerp your eye on Watauga County and Western North Carolina. there are Miracles Happening Here. We just got hit with the hurricane but God has also told me at the same time to drop every bit of corruption I have on this government here. 0:55 I couldn’t agree more Michael! Norm is the all time GOAT!!
Dave Chappelle is number 1.
@@echo.romeo. Fair enough, Dave is devastatingly funny but I don’t think he’s funnier than Norm was IMHO
Norm is a legend. One of the coolest things about him was that he was sick for so long and didn't want to make others sad so he gave fun interviews focused on comedy even while he was very ill. Hilarious and also a very respectable man.
@@matthewsisti4382 absolutely, it takes a lot of humility to keep a secret like that
Dane Cook come back would be pretty cool. Not going to lie. My brother used to listen to him.

Trump finished his one term with 1 cabinet member still in office, had 5 different National Security Advisers in 4 years and pardoned a list of his own hires for felonies before eventually becoming a convicted felon himself. Great choice to lead the country.
Nate Bargatze, Dusty Slay, Aaron Weber, Brian Bates, John Crist, Tim Hawkins... none of these guys identify as Christian comedians. Just like I've never heard of a Christian plumber. They are comedians who work to make people laugh, who happen to be Christians.
Aaron Weber is really funny!!!
Johnny B!
Nate Bargatze is the funniest comedian I’ve ever seen!

Norm wasn't Catholic
No John Crist??
I know, it's criminal!
Has he done anything on atheists? His skit on Lazarus' resurrection is one of funniest I've ever heard.

I Believe in God, but Christianity is a Western Religion.
The bible is not God's word; it's a men's book.

Tim Hawkins, Jeff Allen, Ken Davis and one of the greatest Michael Jr!! All great Christian comics
Fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom.
That sounds like mental illness
I was ambivalent to christianity for a long time. I grew up in Sweden in the 1980s in a culture that had been completely molded by socialism. That molding certainly extended to our state church and still exists today. Many of our priests are straight-up communists and more interested in politics than religion. I became an atheist in the 1990s as an act of defiance against socialism. I've grown closer to God in recent years but there are few options for organized christianity in Sweden besides the state church.
That's sad to hear. Does Sweden have freedom of religion or is that the only church allowed?
Catholics, Mormons, Jehovah's Witnesses, Methodists, Lutherans, Orthodoxes, etc... ARE NOT CHRISTIANS.
"Organized Christianity" isn't socialism.
Start your own church like the disciples did. There are believers there.
I've come across a lot of Brad Stine's stuff. He is basically a Christian Dennis Leary. Very funny and effective.
Agreed. He’s incredible and always funny!
Comedian: "You mean you merge back with your creator? Yeah thats heaven"
Me: "no my brother in Christ, thats Pantheism"
That is also what is seen in the orthodox church. Since they claim man is essentially melded or merged into God as they become more like him
@@beardaquatics9163 I respectfully doubt it
I was just thinking yesterday, "Whatever happened to Dane Cook?" Is my phone now reading my thoughts and suggesting videos??😅😅
You are correct sir - Norm was and remains the very best …!
Didn't Crist fall out of favor also for some sort of scandal? SA maybe?
@@bigd5773 I wasn't aware of this, but upon research, it does sound like it wasn't a good situation, however, I will say it sounds less like SA, and more like he was dating in a secular/worldly way, not what would be considered a traditional Christian way. So more hypocrisy than anything. He was contrite, confessed, and apologized and sought help/counseling and has since moved on with his life. I feel like this is a bit different from Cook, who came out as a couple with his now-wife when she was 18 and he was 45. And that's just when they announced that they were a couple, not sure how long they had been "together" prior to that, and that is the most concerning part to me - that she may have been a minor. I don't care about the age gap on its own.
Oh thank God Jess is here to tell us what’s in a man’s heart! No one can do that but god I thought, but he must’ve just made an exception for JESS and DANE COOK. Please, stfu. Your arrogance isn’t piety. Pharisee-ass behavior.
A Catholic isn't a Christian.
Michael Knowles, for example, is a Catholic, not a Christian.
Who cares, He's a comedian his job is to entertain you
Yes! You included my favorite comedian... I love Jeff Allen!!
And his testimony is really good.
Tim Hawkins is also a Christian comedian and hysterical!!!
So true. God definitely changed him and he’s funnier than ever.
People shit on pascals wager. When i was suicidal it literally was what held me back. "Whats worse an earthly hell that ends if i keep plodding or a literal eternity of worse than this"
And let me tell you, feeling the hell of suicidal depression. I did NOT want to jump into something worse for longer.
I felt trapped but better trapped than utterly screwed.
So you just described Pascal’s Wager exactly for what it is- a fear tactic, as opposed to a nuanced argument.
@@dantex8983it’s not necessarily a fear tactic but a truth we must accept. It should motivate us to take life more serious than to just end it over meaningless earthly things.
@@WillhideOnIce and how do you establish the _veracity_ of this “truth”? And how do you disregard someone else’s wager about their own God other than using your “gut feeling”?
For instance, no matter how devout of a Christian you happen to be (assuming that’s your faith), you’ll still be condemned to eternal suffering by the God of Islam, if Islam happens to be true. How do you prove that is NOT the case and yours is the one true religion/God?
@8:18 Brad Stine - the "Dennis Leary" of Christian Comedy! Love his work! And that outro! **chef's kiss**
I think the secret society of comedians won't allow Dane Cook to come back. He stole a lot of jokes and that's a big No-No for comedians and magicians come to think of it
Come back? He’s currently on a theatre tour doing large venues
He told them better.

John Christ is also a funny Christian comedian!
Tim Hawkins is my favorite. Bob Smiley is funny too!
Tim Hawkins should have been in here. The guy is so funny i am rolling, watching his routines!!!
The guy at the end is Brad Stine, one of the best Christian comedians of our time! He has been on FOX News, has performed for the Bush's and the Republican Convention. For over 10 years he was the "house" comedian for all of the Promise Keepers men's events.
the lumberjack part at the end, damn glorious 🤣
I wanted to be saved out of fear in hell. I went and asked a Christian how to be saved and they showed me the love of God. Fear was not enough.
You've described stockholm syndrome.
I believe in Hell. Of course, i believe everything i am told by anyone i see as an authority or expert on something. Priests, TV anchors, professors, doctors...I have had 12 jabs. The last one, i got home and the needle was still in me! I poop clots every day and get sick all the time, but i am still here!
Fear is probably what makes people atheists because they're angry that God would be so cruel. If Jesus saved us, he saved us all.
I wouldn't think that evil, sinful people would go to heaven, but moral atheists? I think they can maybe see the truth after they die and have a chance for redemption. I think God is merciful.
@@TaraTara-ld2xb As an atheist, I appreciate you saying that. I don't feel you should fear the people you love, and if you do, that this is not a healthy relationship, but a relationship of coercion and abuse. And I don't think that's a controversial opinion either, I think we all morally know this to be true.
If God does exist, I hope He has a better moral framework than humans. I would hope that God would be merciful.
Fear of God is the BEGINNING of WISDOM, not the cause of salvation. I'm glad u understand that.
His sense of humor is on point tho
9:47 Schulz was definitely the best one.
Shultz is so underrated. People love to hate on it but that's only because he's good. You'll never see them hating on ACTUAL crappy comedians like jet ski Johnson or casey rocket. It's almost like comedy social justice 🤮

Well done Michael mixing in the Act of Contrition in your commentary to solidify our purpose in loving God and how He is our fulfillment in all of life. “ Our hearts are restless until they rest in thee O God”. - St. Augustine. I’d like to see an atheist prove that statement wrong
Had a debate with an atheist about the creation in college. How can someone think a random explosion would just happen to create a universe that has a properly rotating solar system that has a planet with just the right environment to create several different species of life including intelligent beings? It’s far more believable that an intelligent God did all that than a random explosion.
Wtaf that isn't a debate ya melt
Is it not likely that life forms evolved into their environment rather than the other way around?
@@mr.grumpyGod started life.
The big bang wasn't an explosion, it was expansion of spacetime. I don't know what caused it so don't ask. I'm not arguing about religion, just correcting you so🤷

You gotta check out Tim Hawkins
That's what I'm telling every atheist I got into argument with. If we die and "there's no god", I said fine, I won't get punished or rewarded for the things I've done, I would just cease to exist. But what if GOD exists?? what would you do then? 60 to 80 or even a 100 years of sacrifice and obedience to God is a lot more easier than suffering in HELL for all eternity.
It's not a 50/50 proposition though. There are thousands of religions. What if you wasted your 80 years of existance groveling to the wrong God?
That's not how believing things works. We don't choose what we believe. We draw conclusions based on our upbringings and life experiences.
