the nastiest guitar riff i've ever written (i think)
This is the 12th video in my ongoing challenge to myself to record and post a guitar riff every week. This week i'm playing through my favorite passage from a song I wrote called 'No Service'. This riff is played in DADGCE tuning - a super fun tuning and a personal favorite of mine. New vids every week probably. Hope you dig it.

This time I really wanted to go heavy on the harmonics and came up with this groovy little joint. New vids every week probably. Hope you dig it.

This is guitar riff number 8. It's part of an ongoing effort I'm making to compose something brand new every week and publish it that same week. I will admit, I've had this riff on the back burner for a while now and fully intend to turn it into a full song. In this video, I'm playing on a baritone guitar tuned down to drop A.

This is the 7th riff I've written for guitar as part of a challenge to myself to write new music for the guitar every single week and break out of my musical box. This riff starts off in 4/4 and moves into a 7/8 groove. Some of the stretches and chord changes in this riff legitimately strain my fingers but I have to say, I'm pretty happy with how this one came out. Hope you dig it.

Another installment in the ongoing challenge to myself to write a new riff for guitar every week. This time we've got a gnarly baritone riff in 6/8 that grooves and causes pain all at the same time. I love a triplet groove and I wanted to add in ghosts notes and thick sounding low strings parts. Hope you dig it.

Not often! Something I’d definitely love to explore more. I know a lot of trad musicians use DADGAD as basically standard tuning!

This is a passage from a song I wrote for guitar a few years ago called 'No Service'. It's played in DADGCE tuning (which is a definite favorite) and is still one of my favorite compositions to play.
