- This is the 12th video in my ongoing challenge to myself to record and post a guitar riff every week. This week i'm playing through my favorite passage from a song I wrote called 'No Service'. This riff is played in DADGCE tuning - a super fun tuning and a personal favorite of mine. New vids every week probably. Hope you dig it.
This is a passage from a song I wrote for guitar a few years ago called 'No Service'. It's played in DADGCE tuning (which is a definite favorite) and is still one of my favorite compositions to play. I ran out of time after an extended family visit so I figured this week I'd revisit something old.
Hope you guys dig it. New riffs/little songs every Wednesday.
ur cheating on the challenge bro you're supposed to write a new one every week smh my head
It's 6/8, yet runs right through and doesn't bounce. Love it.
6/8 doesn't bounce. That's 3/4.
Yeah man this song is so good, very beautiful writing!
This is the first thing i saw from you and it got me totally hooked on your style of playing guitar!
It's so good I want to learn it.
really really amazing quality riffs man, im loving it
Really glad to hear that man thank you for watching/listening!
Simply perfect
There might be No Service but I’m Receiving every ounce of this.
My MAN
This is my favourite riff of yours 💯
Dude your video and content quality is outrageous. Great tunes! Cheers
the master at work! always loved this one
Outstanding!!
Thank you very much!!
love it
goes hard
DANG
Tom, amazing playing!! Do you use DADGAD as well?
Not often! Something I’d definitely love to explore more. I know a lot of trad musicians use DADGAD as basically standard tuning!
Can you consider teaching us this thing ??
beautiful
I hope you can help bring a resurgence of playing fingerstyle.
why you pulling punches with the (i think)??????
Of all the things I’ve written, I happen to think this particular part of this tune is a personal best. Still gets me excited to play it.
Why is it notated as 6/8? Its in 8/8 no?
its 6/8
Mate, I like this riff series, but you forgot to make place for melody in this one.
Dude, the tab don't match what you play.
It does. This song is in DADGCE tuning.
@@TomInBoston Yes, I've played it with that tuning but some notes are just different or have another rhythm. First bar is correct but than it begins to get messy
