- This is the 11th riff i've written for acoustic guitar since beginning a challenge to myself to write, film, and release a new short piece of music every week. This time I really wanted to go heavy on the harmonics and came up with this groovy little joint. New vids every week probably. Hope you dig it.
I wanted to write something that used a bunch of harmonics so I came up with this guy over the course of last week. This is the 11th riff I've written as a part of this ongoing project to come up with something new every week. I'm going to see how long I can keep this going.
For anyone who might be interested, I stream guitar on twitch three mornings a week - Monday, Wednesday, and Friday at 9 AM EDT. I play songs, chat, and drink coffee. Come by and say hey if you get a chance.
Sounds like the music from the loading screen of an artsy video game. I dig it.
This is clearly meant as a compliment, but is the gamer version of calling someone's work elevator music
Oh. My. God. So what I need to do is find a way to harness this and mainline right into my cerebral cortex. The progression, harmonics, groove... just everything I needed today. ProgInBoston is growing more and more powerful.
Sick riff. Love you are always wearing an awesome timepiece!
Damn Tom these harmonics are amazing.
Getting mad Antoine Dufour and Andy Mckee vibes. You're awesome, bro.
Sounds good 👍
Another lovely riff. Would love to see you make these into some full length tunes.
Nah that transition to playing the higher register was way too good!
Amazing - Love It 😎🎶
That is outstanding! Would love a tutorial breaking down the specifics of how to implement this step by step!!
beautiful! I can't stop listening to this.
So glad you like it!
The way you play those harmonics reminds me of Heather's song from Andy McKee
head bob = activated
Loving the baritone grooves. Sounding kinda prog / metal inspired in places. Are you into that world at all?
Hugely lately. I've been listening to tons of prog and trying to find ways to bring it to fingerstyle guitar.
@@TomInBoston I love that man. You've gained a huge fan here.
Man, I aspire to be like you someday in future!
So cool Tom, that’s awesome doing a weekly songwriting exercise. I’ve noticed that a lot of R.D. King’s songs which made it onto his albums began as one of his “1-Minute Wednesday” weekly songwriting exercises. Hope it’s a fruitful effort for you, sounds like it is!
this is so Antoine Dufour and I love it!
Killer Riffage.
That's awesome dude, love those dead notes and harmonics
Very cool riff, I can't wait for a new album
Cool!!
Great

Ewon Dobson would be proud
