IKR as soon as the first notes played, I genuinely felt goosebumps all over my body and tears forming behind my eyes. It's a strange feeling that very few things can invoke inside of me. It feels peaceful and joyful remembering all my memories with these games, but also sad because I'm now living a much more complicated life, makes me regret not living my childhood to the fullest when life was so much simpler and happier
For anyone trying to learn this and it feels a little off. That's because it is. Within the first measure, the sheet music says after E0, B1 G2 A3 but really he played G3 E1 B2, the same notes just wrong order. Then in the 2nd measure, he left out 2 notes on the sheet music that he played. After both B1 notes he played an open D but that isn't on the sheet music. Still loved the video and it's helped me learn this amazing song.
So the story here is that I actually made the original recording and the tabs at different times, I actually threw this video together for one of my private guitar students, and had no idea that it would end up getting over 300,000 views. If I did, I would have spent a little more time getting everything more accurate 😂. That being said, the important stuff is all there, like you did. Feel free to free any holes with your ears or just do what's written. Thank you so much for the kind words 😊

as ruby being my first pokemom game this song gives me two feelings: one is genuinely like crying and the other is being virtually sick of hearing this through the first half hour of playing-- but thats only with the og soundtrack, covers always make me want to cry 😔

i commented a while ago on your non-tutorial version of this that it was the best guitar cover of this song on youtube.. now i'm here commenting on this tutorial version because you ended up inspiring me to start learning guitar so that I can play this arrangement myself :D having a blast so far! btw, the last 3 notes of the 1st bar are backwards compared to what you played, 3 2 1 not 1 2 3.

Absolutely no hate intended, I love this cover and I really think you captured the beauty and tranquility of the original. Great video ❤️
